So glad you reacted to this. I really enjoy Predator 2. Had to wait a long time for Alien V Predator (next one in the saga) after seeing the Xenomorph skull hanging on the wall in the ship. If you want some 80’s comedies to react to highly recommend Weekend At Bernie’s, The Great Outdoors and See No Evil Hear No Evil (Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder)
So far we've only seen female Yautja in comics and video games, but there have been some VERY powerful and dangerous ones that we've been introduced to. And I can't think of a better example than a female Yautja that was codenamed Cleopatra by the OWLF. How dangerous is she? She nearly killed DUTCH on multiple occasions.

They are interstellar sportsmen whose entire culture revolves around big game hunting. They test themselves against apex predators which often includes sentient beings like man. They have a code in that they do not kill the unarmed or the infirm as it is not challenging nor do they kill pregnant prey as a way of husbanding the livestock. If vanquished, they leave no trace of themselves behind by detonating a powerful bomb so as to leave the "preserve" pristine by not contaminating the indigenous culture with their technology. As a rite of passage, they must blood themselves by killing a xenomorph from the "Alien" series. If prey is worthy by offering good sport and defeating the hunter, the tribe will bestow the victor with a trophy. There's a pretty good Predator fan film on YT set in the Middle Ages with knights called "Predator: Dark Ages" starring Adrian Bouchet (Steapa) from "The Last Kingdom"! The point of setting the second film in a populated city is too stress the concept of an urban jungle of concrete and glass! This film was released in 1990 but is set in a fictitious then-near-future of 1997 in which rampant global warming and extreme gang violence are pervasive issues. All other films in the franchise are set in the year of their release or at a point in the historical past. The boy in the cemetery was spared because the Predator determined his toy gun wasn't a real weapon but anybody with a weapon on the subway was butchered. The subway scene was satirizing a real vigilante incident in New York City when a seemingly mild-mannered commuter named Bernie Goetz whipped out a hand cannon and blasted some thugs who were trying to rob him! Anna, the surviving female guerrilla from "Predator" played by Elpidia Carrillo is seen being debriefed on a monitor in Keyes' surveillance vehicle while Harrigan is informed about the Central American encounter. The footage was actually new specifically shot for "Predator 2" and not deleted footage from "Predator". Carrillo remains the only actor in the franchise to reprise their role in a sequel! Jerry was played by the late BILL PAXTON who was Hudson in "Aliens". He has the distinction of being one of two actors attacked by a Predator, a Terminator and an Alien! His co-star from "Aliens", Lance Henriksen, who played the android Bishop, is the other. The Yautja's ability for mimicry was established in "Predator". Whether they actually understand the phrases they record is unknown but they do apply them in the appropriate context. The Predator was not drinking blood but siphoning the brain from the skull to prepare it for the trophy case. It couldn't be realistic why because it was in the city. Aliens can go anywhere. Or because Danny Glover wasn't Arnold who was getting his but handed to him and the only thing that beat the Predator in the first one is that it blew itself up. Glover used the Predators own weapon against him. Arnold luckily found out about that the Predator couldn't see him. First movie is a manly man movie and this one is more story based. Alien Vs Predator 2004, Alien Vs Predator Requiem 2007, Predators 2010, The Predator 2018, and you all ready did Prey 2022. The gun from 1715 that Danny Glover got from the predator as a trophy, it also showed up in the Prey movie from 2022 😉
They seem to have a different nervous system and organ functions than humans, making them more resistant to trauma and overall, very tough to take down.
This was a top notch sequel. Unadulterated action and suspense as it should be. The story of LA's hottest summer with the streets as an gang warzone and a few real cops left to fight what they can't see was genius. Great cast of players here including Glover & Busey's reunion years after Lethal Weapon in a few short scenes (short but sweet). The late Bill Paxton in another Sci-Fi franchise, once again as an character killed by it's title antagonist (Terminator, Alien) was/is the craziest thing about his career. The late Kevin Peter Hall in his 2nd and final film of the series as 2 of the species (main City hunter, Elder hunter) is definitely the blueprint of how these creatures live, breathe and hunt. The Xenomorph skull on the trophy case was a major shocker and the colonial pistol (iykyk) given to Hartigan revealed in very little time that the history of this universe is bigger than imagined. For a time, Alien and Predator's comic series by Dark Horse were standalone like both film series. But months before Predator 2 was released, Dark Horse premiered Alien vs. Predator as an standalone crossover series followed by novels and video games. Just so you know, the next movie is AvP (2004). It's continuation, AvP:Requiem (2007) is ether ok or considered real bad, you decide. But you'll definitely enjoy PREDATORS (2010) aka Predator 3 from producer Robert Rodriguez, a new storyline that also pays homage to the 1987 original.

Charles Dance was great in Alien 3. Its my favourite although its the first I ever seen so thats probably why.
