Dude you just got a new subscriber coz i have been doing this camera project from long time and learned cool tricks every time i youtube but you friend got the coolest and easiest way to describe it.
will try this for sure. will i be able to go a full 90 degrees with the rendercam from say one of the boxes/bins and render a good image of the box textured from projected cam? I also wonder if a 2d image can be made from a rendered scene with geometry and camera for projection already in place?
What sort of programs are you talking about 6:18 in your video that find the focal length, etc? I know in Blender there's an easy camera plugin called BAM for camera calibration, etc. You mean to tell me a 15k program doesn't have something like this?
okay, so I follow ian hubert who does this alot in his videos. do I absolutely need to line the camera up if Im not making a 1 to 1? is there a more rough and dirty approach to this?
So here is the question. I can do all of this just fine. However, when I set sometihng on the ground it doesn't cast shadows. How do I get it to cast shadows on the project ground plane?
Your texture map probably has a default blur like box or Gaussian blur on it. If you go into the texture and into the "File" tab you will see a dropdown for "Filter Type". Set it to "Off" and hopefully that will fix your problem.
Studio 4 Media hello. It is the one on 15.17, the render camera the blue one, I dont understand how you do that.. do you mind to explain? Do i use the same projectionCam to render? Thank you so much
The blue camera is the projection camera. As the tutorial says, that camera should not be moved. The render camera is the one with movement. If you're asking how I put that animation on the camera then this tutorial is probably too advanced for you and I would recommend watching a basic tutorial on key frame animation.
Studio 4 Media i understand the projectionCam cant be moved but what I ask how do you render the cam? And since you said "it was too advanced".. I wonder do you born with such a talent? Is it too hard to explain to someone who is new? If you cant explain, then dont post something that is public to see!
Sorry for the confusion. I thought you were asking about "how to rotate the camera" like you said above. Rendering from a different camera is also quite simple. Just go to your render settings and scroll down until you see the Renderable Cameras drop down options. There you can choose which camera will be the one to render. Again, this is a fairly basic concept. There is nothing wrong with being new to Maya. Everyone has been there. However, you should be aware of your skill level and pick appropriate tutorials to watch instead of assuming that each video will cover every basic step. If I did that, all my tutorials would be 2 hours long.

Thanks for the tutorial! Planning to do Camera Projection for my Final Year Project in my school ( Visual Effects ) !
I appreciate you taking time to make this tutorial. Thanks
Thanks, that helped a lot, i tought camera UV projection was the only option and that worked poorly
With SanctusMatchCamera (free script) you have the same camera calibration way like 3ds max and Cinema 4d. And a clean result after one minute!
Great tutorial, thanks. Tom Meade book is fantastic :D
Thanks for the clear tutorial!

Awesome! Thank you very much, very useful tutorial!
wow *_____* maya is amazing
That kind of blew my mind seeing the animated camera. Did you guys also do a tutorial with video as opposed to a static image?

very nice tutorial thanks man

Is is possible to do this by moving each vertex of the geometry to the corners of the objects?

+Micheal Eudy i'm also stuck with this, did you manage to find a fix? :(
Put a shadow catcher shader on a plane.
thanks so much, very helpful
Matteo Sabba hello. Do you know to make the camera render? Tq
you are great trainer can u make tut on using maya golaem crowd in simple steps, bcoz their website show long ways. please make simplest tut on it.
Hello there, my camera projection renders are much more blurry then my initial image that i projected.. can you help me with fixing this?

I'd be quite interested to see to problems that arise from animating the camera too far to the side
Where can i find the universal manipulator in maya 2016 ? There is no general tab in this maya
Jens Lemmens in modify / transformation tool / universal manipulator
how do you put a real person in the middle of this mapping thing?
How do you render the camera? You dont explain :(
Helpful, thanks!
thank you so much. but can i bake texture? plz tell meeeeeeeeee
Did you ever find out?
very very nice thank you
do same thing with more complicated image
start of the tutorial 3:18
Amazing!
i dont know what it is im doing wrong but the camera calibration and movement in this software is really fucking me in the head
Thank you so much
How to rotate the camera like yours? Does anyone know here can explain? Tq
What do you mean when you say render the camera and rotate the camera?

Hello. Anyone knows how to render the camera??
Thanks!
Is that a 2d picture from the first place >
This is a tutorial about camera projection, not mapping right?
+Tomek Dyszkiewicz
Honestly those terms get used interchangeably when talking about this technique in the industry.
Studio 4 Media hello. Please help how to make render cam? Tq
how do you add shadows?
非常感谢,学到很多~
should have gone on to tell me how to get the shadows from that
so can I export out the projection texture and edit it?
太厲害了!!
謝謝你QAQ
thanks!
That was Bad Fucking ASS!!!
Found a Gem
great
what? i can't hear a word of what you're saying!
easy pz , i did it my frist try in 5 minuts.
Hello. Do you know how to do render cam? Thanks :)
wooooooow
#maya #cameraMapping #projection
where is that manipulator tool, i cant see. I'm using maya 2016
