Thank you. Really fantastic. It seems to share a lot with the Tibetan relationship with Avalokitesvara and the mani mantra. I particularly like the way Alan explains the way that the words Amitahba Buddha themselves are invested with so much meaning and value. Also the way that the Pure Land teachings seem to so elegantly condense the wider meanings of Buddhism.

There is a way to realize Nirvana by your self. It was taught my Shakyamuni Buddha. I respect pure land, but it's offensive to the other 99,000 lines of sutra from Shakyamuni Buddha, which explain exactly how our "lowly being" can realize Nirvana here and now.

sense of being undermined can lead to all sorts of qualities that are really methods to affirm the self. Like shoring up the psyche in the face of tidal onslaughts that erode ground, that humans physically as well as mentally operate on.

guy not really talking about buddhism from my pov.
moral development is just another aspect of egoic self.
buddhism isn't about being a morally person, but to realize the emptiness of all things, and the unity of samsara and nirvana; that 'there is no PERSON' other than the ego.
people often misunderstood being religious or spiritual is to be a 'kind' 'nice' human and to reincarnate to better realms.
Hui Neng said, purify your mind(ego), then everywhere is pure land. even this human realm is pure land. you dont need to die to go to sukhavati.
