Learned to fence from an exiled Brit royal & he explained why this design was declared illegal, alongside the glass knives high-society ladies took to carrying for years in Europe way-back-when.
not illegal, just another myth, the only universally illegal knife is a serrated blade bayonet and the like, and the stories of wounds they cause are just that. stories and nothing more
As the other commenter pointed out they're Not Illegal this is 100% a Myth! Triangular shaped knives are mentioned Nowhere in either the Geneva or Hague conventions.
@@robertsonmcnaughton4850 go and look it up, I will give you a clue, it is in the Geneva convention, and the only ones that ever question that are the ones dim enough to believe all the nonsense about these things
Been waiting to see this for a while. Turned out fantastic and better than I originally thought it would. Brother, your knife making skills are epic. Your attention to details and creativity puts you far and above others out there. Cheers mate!
A hammer that holds a can of Spam, and opens it by hitting it on something, which somehow fires your three blades into the tin and peeling off the steel. Obviously, it would have to be called the Spam Hammer!
Onur, That's like a modern version of a world war one fighting trench knife. I really like it. Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video
They already used 'daggers' in the mid age ... they would penetrate almost every kind of armour easy, without effort and where relative easy to make (cheap) history of the dagger goes way back.. love Onurs post and his input/output of his ideas of weapons 🎉
This looks like a Rondal dagger with a crescent guard and a scent stopper pommel, instead of the classic disc guard and pommel. Those are basically armor piercing daggers.
Lovely work! I particularly like what you did with the guard. The crescent shape with the slotted ends was a neat choice. As an aside, I took inspiration from one of your older videos to try out some DIY myself. One of the pieces of it should be arriving in a bit under 36 hours. The rest may have to wait for a bit, but the plan is slowly assembling itself! Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration, Onur!
This has to be my favorite type of dagger. I have been making daggers similar to this but I've been using spike bayonets from the M44 Mosin Nagant. Great video
I made a stilletto when I was an apprentice. Used a 4" 3-sided file. (Even ground a blood groove down one side). However, the key word here is apprentice!!! I knew nothing about heat-treatment and the bloody thing snapped on me. 😞
Who cares. Iv only just started watching. Bit of a mind fuck. One minute he sounds like he wants to give me a rim job. The next he can fight a rugby team.
This knife style was deemed a war crime by the Geneva Convention due to the shape of it making very large holes, the holes don't close easily like something from a slimmer blade or a bullet passing through. In short you cant suture this wound close and it encourages bleed out by a large magin.
Ya, no we aren't spending money on that bud, druggie Ford just spent 250 million to put booze in corner stores and onroutes. The latter I might add you'd only ever visit while highway DRIVING.
This was really cool? Could you make something like this, but four sided? Hollow ground so that it actually has four shallow cutting edges? Maybe put it all together as a rondel dagger? 😁
2:00 Can anyone tell me why you may want to temper a file? I thought they where harded steel that just needed to ground down to shape if you where making a knife from one.
The Geneva convention does not have any rule against the number of sides or edges on a blade or bayonet. It's a myth. The only type of blade outlawed by the Geneva Convention is a serrated bayonet.
The reason he says that this thing is a war crime is the triangle shape of the blade. The wound a triangle shaped blade makes will not close up easily leading to loss of blood and eventually death. The original Stiletto was a triangular blade meant to go through chainmail armor and cause the victim a dangerous injury. BTW: that same triangular blade will defeat some modern thin Kevlar armor.
It's a myth. Triangular blades are not war crimes, and the wounds are remarkably similar to regular knife wounds. They don't cause any more bleeding, and they only require a different type of stitch to close.
Not even close. It just requires a different type of stitch compared to a regular stab wound. It's a myth that's been around for decades and it's been debunked hundreds of times. But kids on the internet love to believe everything they see online.
Act the cock all you want, Onur, but yer kidding no one - it's obvious you're a proper clever bollocks with some serious skills... can't help feeling you must've been a fucking nightmare kid, tho' 🤣 Anyway... sound video and final product as ever, ta 👏How would you feel about making a frightener of an expandable baton OR/AND a World War 1Trench Knuckle Dagger? Keep 'em coming lad and take care 👍
What would you like to see me build next?
Some more easy builds for us fools with limited tools to follow please :D like the plumbing fittings tools.
I like that the end is a custom butt plug. Just in case u want to get a little dirty
This might sound stupid but can you do a Viking style Kukri 🤪
I’ve always been a fan of hook swords.

There's nothing illegal about this blade in the UK, it's just a dagger.
Sounds like your "Exiled Brit royal" was fibbing to you......

And then you fail to provide this supposed anecdote? Okay

i wasn't sure about the handguard but in the end it looks so good, really nice work, seems it has a nice amount of stabby stabby 😄😄4:50 oh no
That's a nice-looking dagger 👍
That’s an awesome bit of work! Plus your t shirt with the Sandor Clegane quote on is amazing and I need to know where I can buy one!
Great ending particularly for this one 🤪😩👌
You make the coolest stuff Sir:)
Awesome build
Would you ever forge the axe from the film Mandy? It’s called The Beast and it’s the most badass scene of the whole movie.

What about putting fullers on the flats and twisting it?

Liking the dagger, what about a Bowie BUT as if it was made in Japan / Turkey
What if we twist the triangular file to make the even more forbiddeny knoife?
Could you add fullers to the blade?
Stop flicking your tongue at me >:(
isn't all that super dangerous at 5:00 ?
I'm uncomfortable.
Thought it was a 4 sided blade that was against the Geneva Convention
The Geneva convention does not have any rule against the number of sides or edges on a blade or bayonet. It's a myth. The only type of blade outlawed by the Geneva Convention is a serrated bayonet.
What was the green stuff you put on the file?
I believe it's a high temp paint to prevent oxidation and scaling
Also, I'm in texas, so.... ya know...
