Excellent video! Thank you for making it. I just purchased an espresso machine that had been in storage for years. The pump would not prime. I used a plastic syringe full of water, to force water through those check valves, by removing the filter from the water supply hose, and putting the syringe onto the hose. (I got the plastic syringe from a local drug store by asking them if they had syringes for giving pets medicine. This kind of syringe has no needle.) After the pump was force primed, it worked, but the flow was very low. I removed the pump, and took it apart as you show here. I found that small 9mm x 5mm x 2mm o-ring was hard as a rock. I replaced it with one from the plumbing department in the local hardware store, and now the pump delivers a lot of water! Saved myself $45.
Hi, thanks for this video! Our Prima Donna was giving us this message. I replaced the o-rings in the water pump, it now makes coffee, although the pressure still seems lower than when it was working 100%. Also, the machine takes a very long time to switch between functions, i.e., from steam to hot water to coffee. I replaced the flow meter, that didn't fix it. I notice some air in the water line, how do I fix that?
Great video! I will follow this when i take apart my Magnifica S. My machine just stops at the pump sekvence when starting up and eventually the warning triangle shines, not blinking. The pumping never starts but i can smell its heating up. So ill try change the pump before i discard the whole machine
Try to descale the machine before buying a new water pump. Sometimes the water pipes are clogged and even a new water pump does not help. Most of the time, the pipe that runs from the heater to the brewing group calcifies.
Great video, I am performing your steps. Question: do you use a specific glue to connect the blue item again (5.30 min)? What is it, a fuse or capacitor?
The blue part is a fuse in case the water pump overheats. I use hot glue gun to fix it. But the water pump can also be taken apart without removing it.
@@yt.myworks Thank you! I succeeded in replacing the small o-ring and ball by using the Amazon kit. Most difficult part for me was reconnecting the tubing at 6.07 min. Initially, I did not push it far enough into the holder, so the connector did not fit properly. Further, there was a lot of noise during the first run, probably because the pump/tubings/noise reducer had to refill with water again. But until now, after five cups of coffee, all seems to work properly again. Will test for at least a week before being satisfied ;)

@@yt.myworks so, i just found out that pump is fine. So my problem is more further inside the machine. How can i unclogged rest of the machine if i am not able to pump water for descaling?
@HowAdd Keep trying to press the rins button with the descaler in the water. Leave the machine on for two to three hours. If that doesn't help, turn off the machine and leave the descaler on for the night. If that doesn't help, you'll need to disassemble the coffee maker.
Very handy tips. I like your videos. If tiu can help fix my problem i would gladly send you a tip. The pressure of the steam coming out the wand is 50%. Hope to hear from you soon
Hi there! Do you ever see problems with flow back valve in the front nipple of the pump? Seen them stuck before. Did you find source where to buy the mushroom rubber part? Thanks!
Thank you for the video, very intuitive! But I have a question please, I have changed the pump to new one but the same problem remained? Any solutions?
My mistake, so even the pump was changed correctly but I had some small stones stuck there in the pipes, I had to buy a special product and it worked fine. Thank you for your help
Hello, I'm getting drops like this for the coffee making and also when the cleaning water procedure happens on machine start up. I replaced the small o-ring but it's still happening. do I need to get a new pump or could it be something else?
It could be that the heater is calcified. Check the water line coming from the heater to see if it is clogged. Then try to descale the machine properly.
@@yt.myworks thank you again. I had been regularly descaling with lactic acid but maybe it was not strong enough. I ran 50g of citric acid through it a couple of times and now water is more freely coming through the coffee outlet again.
Hi. My coffee machine starts with normal sound but after 2or3 seconds it makes less sound than normal and pour out just drops of coffee. It seems it is struggling when pressure is built. Could that be a pump problem? I have disassemble the pump and it all seems ok although i havent replaced any o ring etc as you advise. Nice video,it helped a lot anyway.
@@yt.myworks I wouldn't say so. I do the regular basis cleaning on it and as i said about the pump, it all seems ok.No compounds etc foundings. I will replace parts or the pump itself and see. I will keep you posted about it if you like. Thank you for your response anyway .
Please follow step 3 from my last video (min. 7:00), maybe that will help. Descaling recommended by the manufacturer is often not enough. ruclips.net/video/OJWguSgyf4c/видео.html
Hi myworks, quick question. Should any grease be used on the gaskets in the pump? Looks like I will need to replace the o ring and ball on mine and I want to be sure I put it back together right.
Hi, I've just replaced the pump with a new one and still have the same issue. When it turns on and rinses and turns off and rinses the water flow isn't flowing, it's dripping out very slowly and it makes a lot of noise before it starts flowing. Any ideas what this could be?
Hi, while making a cup of coffee, is the water pump running normally? It could be that there's a leak, causing the pump to be noisy when it sucks in air.
@@yt.myworks It did. I was worried the aggressive mechanical movement would damage a component inside the pump, since air creates less resistance. But as you said, after 20-30 seconds, it started releasing water.
@@ignisGladius this is a positive displacement pump and can prime itself. If it does not the tiny ball may have been left out. This ball is part of the valving. A damaged o ring or damaged ball can also prevent the pump from pumping at the full rate. The vibration pump installation can affect its output profile. The output can be controlled with pulses of electricity and a pressure regulating circuit on the output. A buffer tank can be used to smooth out the output pulsations. I think this a very good device for this application. It does not have a heavy duty cycle and output is limited. It can reach high pressures adequate for its application. The on-off control characteristic combined with a return spring makes for a simple reciprocating pump with out a rototing motor. This setup lends itself to easy control for output versus controlling a rotary pump output. The latter would require a motor speed controller which is more complex when regulating output. I found an interesting video comparing shots pulled from each of the motors and it reported significantly better product with the rotary motor. I don't know whether that is Lucky or whether that is irrefutable. Depending on the pumping pressure regulation arrangement, one should be able to produce very consistent output from either device. Given the reliability and low cost of the vibration pump I think that would be the choice for most devices in lower price range.
I have a 2 small jura ena and it works perfect only the pump from one makes more sound then the other . Like it’s doesn’t have water . But he gives enough . Can it be a pump worn out ? It’s a bit like the sound or this machine but harder , sharper . The other ena is quieter but gives slower water - so don’t know what’s the trick :)
I can't say for sure, but I recommend descaling the machine that runs quietly with a special descaling agent. For the other water pump, I recommend checking if the same amount of water is coming out to rule out a defect.
@@yt.myworks Well you were right : even I thought the machine was descaled enough - two extra cycles helped a lot . Hence one is louder then the other , but it is not that loud anymore .
I have same problem. I have Delonghi Magnifica S, and the water doesn't come out when I try to make coffee. it appears 3 red symbols and that means the coffee is too fine and the water can't come out. However when I try to descale it, the steamer wand and coffee sporut can deliver dirty water. Unfortunately, descaling process stop in about 5 minutes. I am frustrated with this condition. Would you give me the advice to repair it? I am not sure the problem is the pump oring or the sprout oring which is in the front of the machine. I watch several videos that told the problem is in the sprout oring. Because when I try to descale and make coffe, the water leaks to ground coffee tray. Would you give me advice or solution?
Had the same, replaced the pump, sensor and o ring and now it works great again. Don't know which exact part broke, but it works fine again for 30 bucks
Hello! I have an issue with my Magnifica XS that my first pull of espresso is about 1/2 the volume as the ones that follow. Ive replaced the water pump, regulator and flow pump, still have the problem. Any suggestions on what to look at next? thanks!
You have to pay attention to the degree of grinding, it must not be set too fine. Also check the brew group for blockages, then you can try to descale the coffee spout by repeatedly pressing the flush button.
Hi, it could be that the pipes are clogged or calcified, which means that the water pump cannot push water through. Did you descale the machine regularly after request?
Hello. I have a problem with my machine Delonghi Etam SB 660 where only steam comes out instead of foamed milk. It works once in a while randomly though. I already tried to change the milk coupling but that didn't help. Do you think replacing the 2 way solenoid valve will help? Or could it be something else?
@@yt.myworks Thanks. After decalcification, i replaced the Solenoid valve and the milk dispenser coupling including the pipe. It works now for 1-2 coffees after starting the machine. But not always. Also when selecting only the milk option gives only steam! No idea what i could do more.
Hello, I hope you are doing well. I have the same model, and about a week ago the machine would not make any coffee. Now , when the machine starts for the first time, the pump starts to work (for the first rinsing) but then the sound of the pump goes down until nothing is heard anymore after 2-3 seconds. Then I am getting the error "coffee is too fine",it stops and then some water leaks in the coffee tray. I have checked all the pipes, there is no scale in any of them, and I am descaling regularly. I have replaced the diffuser with a new one, still nothing. I have also replaced all the orings. I don't know what else to check. The hot water however still works. Any suggestions please?
Hello, you can also check the water pump but I think one of the water pipes is clogged. Most of the time it is the teflon pipe that goes directly from the heater to the brew piston.
@@yt.myworks thanks for the quick reply. I am not sure what was wrong, but I was also thinking about the water pump. So I just disassembled the pump and then put it back together, without changing / replacing anything. And it worked fine after that. Really strange. But thanks again, your channel is super helpful!
I had the same problem. I have checked all the pipes, the pump, every part of the machine. The problem was a congestion in the infuser. You should remove the stainless steel cap of the infuser and clean the surgace correctly. There you can find a ball “valve”, it can stuck by the coffee oil and grease. Just push it and try to clean it. At first I have disassembly the infuser, not a big thing and in this way you can see the other hole of the duct between the rubber o rings.

Be careful with replacement springs, you actually need a spring that is designed for this device, not a random spring that happens to fit. The strength of the spring is the thing that pushes the water and what the electromotor (coil) works against. Using the wrong spring will damage things.

Pompka Ulka EP5 w ESAM 3000.B.
Wtedy dostaje sie powietrze i woda wędruje z powrotem do zbiornika.

Thank you for the video, very intuitive! But I have a question please, I have changed the pump to new one but the same problem remained? Any solutions?
Which problem do you have?
My mistake, so even the pump was changed correctly but I had some small stones stuck there in the pipes, I had to buy a special product and it worked fine.
Thank you for your help

Hello, I'm getting drops like this for the coffee making and also when the cleaning water procedure happens on machine start up. I replaced the small o-ring but it's still happening. do I need to get a new pump or could it be something else?
?
It could be that the heater is calcified. Check the water line coming from the heater to see if it is clogged. Then try to descale the machine properly.
@@yt.myworks appreciate the response. the steam wand works fine by the way - would that still work if heater calcified?
@@huzcer I think it's possible. The steamer has its own water pipe. But it's just my guess.
Hello, that can mean that the o-rings and ball have to be changed or the machine is clogged (calcified).

Hi! Have you some experience on Nespresso Aeroccino 4?
Must you fill the inside the pump with water when reinstalling? It's just making loud noises and not releasing water after installation.
You can fill the pump with water, but it is not necessary, after a few seconds the pump will suck in the water.

Hello… when I try to make a coffee, it doesn’t flow and it makes an small electric « bzzzzz » noise. Is the pump for sure ?
Hi, it could be that the pipes are clogged or calcified, which means that the water pump cannot push water through. Did you descale the machine regularly after request?

Hello. I have a problem with my machine Delonghi Etam SB 660 where only steam comes out instead of foamed milk. It works once in a while randomly though. I already tried to change the milk coupling but that didn't help. Do you think replacing the 2 way solenoid valve will help? Or could it be something else?
Hi, in most cases it is due to the solenoid valves. But also check whether there is perhaps a calcification.

Pompka Ulka EP5 w ESAM 3000.B.
Wtedy dostaje sie powietrze i woda wędruje z powrotem do zbiornika.
