Ducati 600 Supersport Full Restoration EP1

- Well Folks it that time again, Another BIG restoration project! This time around ive gotten my hands on a 1995 Ducati 600SS ( Supersport ) that has been in storage for around 15 years as far as we can tell.
The bike does run as that was the first thing i checked when i took on the project and it sounds glorious! but you'll have to wait for the final episode to hear that for yourselves ;) So after doing all my usual checks to make sure its a viable project i started taking off all of the fairings so that i can get access to the rest of the bike for disassembly.
After the fairings were removed you can see the full extent of the deterioration that has taken place with it sitting around for so long. so after another good look over the bike i moved on to stripping down all the mechanical and electrical parts and as i said in the video the electrics turned out to be rather interesting.
So after stripping the full bike down im glad to say that there are no major issues and it should turn out to be a factory fresh Ducati one ive finished working my magic on it :).
As usual i really hope you enjoy this series of videos and leave a like and a comment to let me know what you think.
Enjoy.

Really Random Channel
Ducati 600 Supersport Full Restoration EP1
Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
Excellent filming. I appreciate the close-ups done when small or difficult areas needed to be zoomed in. Well done. And mostly, I appreciate you didn't add any back-ground music, just a hard working individual disassembling a Ducati. No reason to drown out the two stars of this video with lame music. Thank you.
I first apologize for my English. I use google translate. I look forward to the next videos. It will be a pleasure to enjoy them. Big project.
cualquier pregunta a la orden mi bro, yo tambien estoy templado con este proyecto y lo voy a seguir.
Don't Worry about your speech Your Completely understandable And Absolutely unreplaceable Your Work is Awesome Brother Well done Absolutely First rate Master Craftsman Keep up the Great work Forever Forward brother
Super excited for this series! Definitely a bike that's worth the quality of restoration that it's about to receive. Will be watching every second of this one!
So glad your as excited as me about the project :)
One of the “ joys” of old motorcycles is dealing with the previous owners maintenance...
Good choice of bike. Will look forward to seeing more.
well said :) Glad to have you along for the ride
Excited for this, your moto restorations are my favorite videos.
Thank you , Glad your excited about it :)
This is the first time I’ve heard you speak, and I’m happy to hear that you’re from my part of the world.
I’m restoring an ‘87 GPX750R in Wishaw, although I work in the Middle East, so progress is slow, but satisfying.
Love the quality of your work.
Cheers
Ah a fellow Scot always a pleasure ;) Thanks for leaving a comment and good luck with your GPX :)
Autolike! I really love old Ducati bike's! I had a monster 620 years ago, but I still remember it fondly.
The 620 Dark was my dream bike then I sat on it and it did not fit me at all. I've had bikes since then. Now I lost after the new Duc Multistrada 1260.
Love all your motorcycle restorations, it'll be amazing to watch you restore this italian beauty :D
Thank you, I hope you enjoy this one as much as the others :)
You're knowledge in restoration is stellar!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😉
I'm 52 and back in the 80's my friends and I would blindfold each other, set up a stopwatch, set the tools out and time how fast we each could strip our BMX bike all the way down to the headset and bottom bracket cups (but no lacing of wheels) and then rebuild it in the fastest time.
That Was Fun, Fun, Fun! 😂🤣😂🤣😜
....Provided someone doesn't move things around in order 2 mess with the guy being timed.😕🤦♂️
Thanks for another great Vlog..👍😁
Thank you very much for leaving a comment it made me smile, sounds like you and your friends had some fun back in the day :)
I can't wait to see this one get done. I recently purchased 1982 Yamaha Seca 400 for $50(US), and I will be doing the same thing to it, but not filming it, because I am not that patient! I too am amazed that people will own something as nice as that bike, and just let it turn to crap. Thanks for bringing that bike back from the dead.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your own project :)
I bought one of these bikes new back in the late 90s. It was my first "big" bike, and I loved it.
Nice :)
Love the show, no music or anything else, just you quietly working to restore the bike.
That gas tank stand... so convenient. Why can’t that be a standard thing for all bikes? I used to wedge a tape measurer in there to hold mine up on my old ZR-7S haha
Hey :), great minds think alike as thats exactly what i thought as soon as i lifted the tank haha.
I have used a mallet and table saw push stick for my tank, that prop should be standard on all bike imo
Subscribed to see this beauty come back to life.
Glad to have you along for the ride and thank you for subscribing it means a lot :)
I got so excited when I seen you were going to be doing a Ducati.
This is gonna be GOOOOOOD! (as always!) Thank you for these videos! Your impeccable attention to detail is a perfect match for my OCD! lol
I am so happy to see a ducati 600 ss restoration. I got a 600 ss too and been doing some work on it . Could learn a lot from this. thank you for sharing.
Yes this looks like a great project i going to follow this one, as always thumps upp :-)
Glad to have you along for the journey :)
The most wanted vodeo about a resto work.
Proud of Italian products.
I have Italian heritage so im proud to be working on this Ducati
Can't wait the following videos.
I also restore Italian motorbikes, 2 strokes, 125cc, Cagiva, Aprilia, Gilera, Garelli...
Thanks for restoring Italian bike, I hope you bring more such products
No problem, i hope you enjoy the series :)
@@RRCRestoration yes sure
You are one lucky Jock. I have never ever seen a swing arm pivot bolt come out so easily
Haha yeah i got lucky with the swing arm bolt, the top engine mounting bolt was a different story there were a good few hours of wd-40,severe heat, almighty shock applied with hammers and swearing at that one ;) haha.
Italian electrics: you are a brave man.😀
Mark Peacock Spaghetti Wiring....
The James May approach. Label. Literally. Everything
Restoration of bike is always a video that I'm waiting for
Brilliant!! I'm already looking forward to next episode. 👍😊
Nice to see you again, Aiming for next week episode 2 ;)
@@RRCRestoration Sweet! 😊
Eh?
Really looking forward to this as a life long Ducati fan and fan of the Channel 👍
Constantly amazes me how people skimp out on looking after their bikes, in good hands now 👍
Thank you so much for commenting and being a fan of the channel it means alot :)
Brilliant series so far. Keep up the good work.
Thank you :)
Looking forward to the next video! I enjoy the videos with narration a lot. It's good to hear what you're thinking as you go.
The Ducati was a major surprise and an excellent one to. this is going to be pretty epic and a worthy bike once you worked your magic on it. Roll on the next instalment.
Thank you for leaving a comment, i hope you enjoy the rest of the series :)
Nice choice, looking forward to seeing you work your magic on this little beauty 😃👍🏻
Thank you very much, I hope you enjoy the rest of the series :)
@@RRCRestoration .It will be brilliant as usual. Fancy doing my Buell X1 Lightning? 😂😂
YES! You're doing another bike. I don't care much for the non bike items you restore, but I have watched all your bike tear downs and restos.
Glad to have you along for the ride :)
Legal! Finalmente uma motoca de gente grande sendo restaurada! Kkkk já não aguentava mais ver vídeo de honda cub asiática!
Hi Mister.
Many compliments for your great work.
I had four of these Ducati: 600, 750, 900 and a 900 super light, so I like a lot this restoration.
Greetings, Umberto.
Thank you for leaving a comment i hope you enjoy the rest of the series :)
I knew it! That you’re going to do a bigger cc bike. But I didn’t know that you’re going to do a Ducati. Great work! I can’t wait to see it being finish. Thanks a lot
Another resto series. I am a happy bunny once again.
Thanks for sharing dude.
Very nice to see you again :) I hope you enjoy the rest of the series. So ive got to ask... Are you a Red Dwarf fan? asking because of your profile pic haha.
@@RRCRestoration Yes indeed. I am a self confessed Dwarfette. Isn't everyone? lol
@@PeteBeardsley Good stuff im a massive fan myself! :)
You keep increasing the oomph of your restorations, which is, you know, good and that, it's just I'm picturing an image in my brain, a few years from now, "Welcome to the first video of my new restoration series. As you can see, I've chosen another classic, she's a nineteen eighty three boeing / rockwell orbiter module that's seen better days. There are a lot of thermal tiles missing, and no sign whatever of the solid rocket boosters or the external tank..."
Haha have you been peaking at my filming schedule ;) haha
This is the bike I wanted so bad after high school. I still think it’s one of the best looking bikes Dukey ever made.
Can’t wait for next episode!!
Im already well into filming it so it shouldn't be too long till i have another episode ready ;)
Good lad! Can’t wait.
The commentary returns! Keep up the good work! So nice to watch
Thank you, Glad you enjoy my content :)
looking forward next one! thanks for sharing
this is obviously going to be one of the best restoration on youtube!
Lets hope so ;)
I'm really looking forward to this restoration. All your decisions so far are right on task.
Thank you very much, Glad to have you along for the journey :)
This project's on the ball, man! The poor ducati looks like it wasn't loved much and the fine scottish weather hasn't helped it along either. But, you'll have looking good as new in no time.
Looking forward to seeing how it'll turn out! Thanks for posting
I love how you make complicated/talented things looks so pish easy.
Fair play big man, great job!
Thank you very much for your kind comment :)
I've got one of these I use daily. Yours looks immaculate before the restoration! Great to see this vid and the whole break down. Thank you. Scots wha hae.
I have to admit, at first glance I thought, "well this will be relatively quick and easy, doesn't look like much needs to be done" (apparently this was the part of my brain that rationalizes buying project cars for "relatively quick and easy" builds that span months and years). Of course, complete disassembly leaves no hiding spots for rust, grime, damage, or (worst of all) "temporary repairs." I used to try to "salvage" things, but over time I've learned there's simply nothing better than ripping it all apart and repairing/replacing yourself.
first one HONDA C90 later one HONDA TL125 and now one DUCATI 600 that evolution is amazing congratulations don't stop :D
PD: sorry for my bad english
Your english is perfect, Thanks for leaving a comment :)
Hi bro 👋👋👋 interesting project with a motorcycle 🏍 Ducati👍👍👍
Hi, Glad to have you along for the ride
I’m sure you’ll be able to make candy out of it 🔥👍💪
Долго ждал нового мото-проекта! Буду ждать новых эпизодов))
Is anyone else loyal to this fella and not watch other restoration videos
You are too kind, Im very flattered :)
Really enjoy your style. The extra time and effort you put into the camera shots and how we never see a 2nd camera is cool and comes out so clean. Much respect from 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Can't wait to see this series through to the end ( I may not say much when I comment but just know that I wish you the best of luck in the restoration of this bike)
Nice to see you, Glad your excited about the series and i hope you enjoy it :)
Really looking forward to this build. Your work is always outstanding and I'm sure I'll be amazed yet again.
Thank you very much : )
Finally, something worthy of your work ethic.
stuff like this that you have found in that bike is why instead of buying used R6 or R1 I decided to buy brand new R3. You never know what previous owner(s) did to that bike and since I don't really know how to do anything past basic stuff like oil change or chain adjustment etc. I rather chose smaller bike but with a peace of mind.
Saying that, I still love to watch motorcycle restoration videos just because it is interesting for me to see how those bikes are made, what makes them tick and how different problems can be solved.
You cant beat an air cooled Ducati, looking forward to this resto
Glad to have you along for the ride :)
This is gonna be a cool rebuild! ...Newk from Kentucky
Thank you, I hope you enjoy the rest of the series :)
The work is super! Video shooting is super!
Thank you :)
Great job and great idea to restore a Ducati, I am sure you will make it like new out of the factory, always a pleasure to watch your videos, THANKS !!!
Thank you very much, Yeah i aim to have it factory fresh :)
Exciting!!! Cant wait to see the rest!!!
EP2 coming soon ;)
That oil drain plug is awesome. . .
Considering it's age, most of the faring and other plastic parts were in fairly good condition. Despite the corrosion it came apart without brutality. It looks promising.
Used to be mine
I'm really excited about this one. I know it will turn out fantastic!
Thank you very much glad your excited :)
@@RRCRestoration I always enjoy your restorations, but am particularly interested in this one. I have an old bike I need to get done.
Very much looking forward to the following videos of the restoration. As always, great videos

Love your restorations, i hope dont take too long to release new videos, thanks for your videos !
Thank you :) Im already working on EP2 so that hopefully i can release a new video weekly ;)
Ducati SS, classic looking, the 600 were specially affordable for Ducati, greatly missed nowadays.
Great stuff, another project to look forward to during these dark winter months .
Glad to have you along for the ride :)
The quality of this restoration will have to be VERY high to top your little Honda trials bike. And in the end, given a choice between a gorgeous Ducati and that lovely little bike, I know I’d choose the Honda. Everything I want in a motorcycle. But I’ll be watching for this one ‘cos I know it’s going to be great. Thank you for your care in restoring such wonderful machines. Les
I totally agree, the level of restoration i put into the Honda was practically better than new and thats going to be hard to top but im going to try my best with this bike ;) Thank you for watching :)
Looking forward to this project. Thanks for being you!!
Thank you for watching :)
excellent, do like your big resto jobs, and i hope this turns out as good as the other one
Thank you, Im aiming to have it as good as it rolled out the factory :)
Better than netflix✌🖤

Nice to see you again, I hope you enjoy the series :)
Really Random Channel nice to be back!
What a bike to begin with, i just know this one is going to be outstanding when it’s finished.
Did you know who owned the bike previously or did someone sell it to you with a paper clip in the main fuse compartment?
Well good luck with this one, I hope it doesn’t give you too much bother along the way but regardless I am really excited to see this one through.
My name is Rich by the way.
Старичок Дукати, ждем с нетерпением продолжения!
Genuinely excited to watch this
