    Fighter was the first class I chose when I started playing NGS and I was really in love with it. It was like you said, it hit hard, the counters felt really good and you could just crush everything with your fists, what's not to love? Then when Braver got announced I ended up making a new character and I decided to give Hunter a shot and it took some adjustment. I followed your guides and ended up having a really good time with Hunter, it was doing big damage numbers and I was really happy with the aesthetic I settled on for the new character.
    When Braver came out it kind of felt like a really odd situation, because I couldn't use any of the upgraded armor I had prepared for the class and I had to grind my own 4 star Katana because everything on the market was totally overpriced, which led to just using the beginner gear and feeling like the class was really underpowered. Fast forward to now where my Braver is almost level 20, I can say it's a lot of fun too. I really love the mechanics of being able to chain your different PAs together to level each one up and having 3 different counter mechanics is pretty cool. My problem is that at the end of the day NGS is just kind of losing it's excitement for me because the only content there is is running around the same 3 maps grinding the same monsters into dust over and over again. Urgent Quests don't even help shake things up enough.
    Sorry for the long post!

      Yooo Hi basedSHARK! Glad you were able to find tons of fun in Braver+Hunter+Fighter! Honestly the classes in the game for me are insanely fun and I love every single one of them. And I agree so much, for me NGS has boiled down to running around, grinding mobs into dust, praying for a fixa drop. But since I'm not into RNG style grinding at that level I pretty much hop on to level, do dailies and weeklies, and then play other games. But if I login and I see a UQ up, I always make sure to do it since those are my favorite activities LOL. I'm really excited for Bouncer's release to see what SEGA does with it in NGS, but I think Winter's class skill update is going to be what occupies most of my time. Also no problem about your post being long I love reading what people are thinking!

    At current state, the game feels beta. However, years of playing PSO2, I have faith in Sega that they will gradually add great contents to this game. This alone makes me come back to NGS daily.

      I agree, at the moment the game definitely feels like a beta especially when we look at overall content currently available. And I have complete faith honestly that SEGA is going to turn NGS into some great overtime as well! I usually tell my friends who are interested, that the game atm is barebones like a beta but in a year it's going to be absolutely insane (Especially with their plan of Braver+Bouncer+Summoner+Gunblade Class within a year of release).

      Ohhh you're going to have tons of fun with base pso2! Base PSO2 has TONS of ways to play it at the moment which makes it ridiculously fun! Only real con IMO is that the skill trees can be slightly confusing, and at times punishing if you mess up. So luckily there's a skill simulator you can use here: arks-layer.com/skillsim/ to test out builds to make sure you've got the right amount of points + have a set path on it. I'd agree, play NGS and get a base going (Story+1184 BP atm), and you'll be set until basically winter. So on that time frame in 6 months at 1184 + base story done, you'll be able to progress and get pretty much everything at that point within a week or two weeks playing on/off. I think it would be fair to say, as a percentage NGS is only as complete as the level cap in numbers.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      That's a very interesting way to think about it, and I LOVE IT. Yeah at the moment we definitely do have 20% of NGS right now and I feel like that 20% is a REALLY good base to build upon. Like looking over NGS right, we have a SUPER streamlined SP system that lets you allocate ALL SP starting from 1, simplified classes so you can clearly see their identity, streamlined healing+resurrections, BP system to quantify how strong you are, and even more great base stuff. On top of this, the game is open world which is a very nice departure from sitting in a ship and queue-ing for missions. I'm super excited to see what happens next!

      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup SEGA is a SUUUPER long way to completing NGS and there's so many things we don't know will come out that will blow our minds. I've been playing since virtually episode 2 in Japan and over the years only ONE update really annoyed me which was Hero's release. It basically deleted all class choice in the game which was a big no-no for how PSO2's super customization is. But SEGA COMPLETELY 180'd and made some of the best patches after Hero's drop and brought all classes to the same level as Hero if not better. I remember being sad that I couldn't really play Gunner since hero existed and nuked everything before i touched it, then BAM Grim Barrage addition was 💦💦💦💦. On top of that the huge rebalancing that occurred turned EVERYTHING good and it was so freakin nice. And then we get Luster's drop as the ultimate "You've beaten the game here is your reward" class and it's just the absolute greatest. NGS currently has as really great base, and I'm super happy it's in the West. I can't wait to see what SEGA brings to the table and it honestly wont stop me from playing permanently. Especially with how base PSO2 and NGS are designed where I can hop on at any time and continue my PSO adventures.

      Yeah I'm still waiting for them to release the game on PS for the US. I get that Microsoft did pay basically for PSO2 to come to the West, but there's such a huge untapped market of players in the playstation side. Also this game works REALLY well (base+NGS) with controllers, and the way it's setup allows you to play it at an ultra casual pace which makes it a great free to play game on console. The only real competition I could see on console outside of BRs is probably just Warframe as another F2P game which I believe is getting crossplay/progression relatively soon. And Destiny 2 for those who make the investment since it does have crossplay as of Season of the Lost (latest update)

    Play or Pass? The answer is yes.
    As best said by Killer 7’s Iwazaru “We’re in a tight spot”
    I don’t blame anyone that wants to pass this update. There still is almost no new story content and dungeons or even enemies.
    But on the other hand, the grind/economy/marketplace doesn’t wait for anyone… so by not playing the bare minimum… it might require a lot of work to get caught up later.
    But yeah I am sure eventually we can get content to make it worth it for most people.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup eventually down the line, we'll finally have enough content to satisfy a lot of people overall. Especially when we start getting some semi-difficult solo content 1v1 fights again, I can see a lot of people start picking up the game around that point. Also I agree the economy/marketplace never stops. The best bet at the moment if you're planning on playing NGS down the line, is to do your weeklies as much as you can and just hoard your N-Meseta. ATM that's pretty much all I've been doing outside of the occasional messing around that I do ingame LOL and it's really paid off. I'm sitting at a comfortable amount of materials+meseta where the next weapon series that drops or even content update in Winter, I'll have the stuff ready for it. Affixes I haven't really grinded that much for them since I'm expecting them to eventually crash in prices outside of stuff like Ael Domina.

  • @vyx6005

    Braver takes too much effort for little reward. Fearless attitude needs more damage and should be an all around guard, weapon action counter needs more damage.
    With fighter your parry is all around guard, can cancel PAs and do more damage. Braver has so many more drawbacks and needs strict timings for less damage anyway

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      Dude Fearless Attitude not being a 360 guard actually confused me a little LOL. Just making it a 360 guard would be REALLY helpful since it would give it a better niche vs Step Dodge/WA. And yeah that basically summarizes base PSO2 + NGS tbh. Some classes get it wayy easier depending on the patch (GuFi @ 85 uncap, Hero on release, Fighter in NGS, Ph Rod on release, Luster episode 6) and it comes down to mostly your playstyle choice even if it's lower overall. Like I enjoyed gunner in NGS and base pso2, but I ended up switching to Hunter since the amount of work you put into Gunner could be simplified to just holding down calibur streak on Hunter or even doing Hunter Arts Avenger for massive damage. Also critical range on TMGs + no grim barrage yet, pretty much made me do a switch LOL
      I think that's one of the things I feel like NGS has to address which is the Effort vs Reward when you pick up a class. Fighter for example has some REALLY great reward, and the effort needed is higher than normal but it's also very generous. Braver has pretty above average reward but the effort kinda rivals playing a Partizan Hunter or even Gunner to some extent.

    • @vyx6005
      @vyx6005 3 года назад +2

      @@everydere Yeah I don't think they reward well for the effort. Fighter usually has its PAs interrupted (which stops you from getting the end that has a big chunk of its DPS) but they can parry mid PA to do even more DPS than if they got to do the PA uninterrupted.
      Braver has to worry about strict timings whilst also doing less counter damage. Which is weird because braver was iconic for its counters in the base game. So it is odd that the counters are so underwhelming. Fearless attitude could have been a nice high risk high reward skill, but they balanced it too hard.
      I think they were too focused on continuing the trend of the step counter doing the most DPS since it is grounded. However, since fearless attitude is risky and takes a lot of getting used to, I think it would've been fine to let it trump the step counter in DPS. Frame data shows FA as more DPS, but the DPS immediately falls below step counter if the enemy doesn't trigger fearless attitude in the first few frames.

There’s also the case that maybe brave combat later down the line changes your normal attacks and gives you the 5 hit combo with extra damage on last hit similar to hunter. • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      So if you enjoy base pso2, here's some recommendations I have!
      Warframe - Completely F2P, No P2W at all, Tons of Customization, Think of this as Sci-Fi Dynasty Warriors.
      Cons are just Time Gates, and occasionally Developer decisions.
      FFXIV - Sub based MMO, has tons of overlapping players with PSO2, 1-60 is free with no sub or payment at all and is basically a full 200 hour+ final fantasy game, story is some of the best in MMOs.
      Cons: Sub Based, Expansion every 1.5 years, If you're not into story, there is A LOT of story to do before you can do content.
      Elder Scrolls Online - B2P MMO, you don't need any expansions or anything to start off. Super open ended class design and gives off a real "make your own class" similar to PSO2. Features Full Add-on Support so you can customize the game exactly how you want. Goes FREQUENTLY on sale which is when I would pick it up. Horizontal Gear progression so once you hit CP160, you don't have to care anymore about anything and can play the game complete at your pace. Has enough content to keep you occupied for potentially years.
      Cons: DLC Pricing if you want it (but there is a ESO+ sub that gives access to EVERYTHING), Expansion every 1.5 years as well I think but it's not necessary to get them. Although you can make your class unique, your class initial choice shoehorns you into a path (Dragon Knight, Necromancer, Warden etc.)
      Black Desert Online - MMO that goes occasionally free or is sold for 3$ which is very nice. Hundreds of hours of content + possibly one of the best open world mmo combats. Season Servers guarantee you can test out classes and comfortably level without PVP and really experience the game. Seasonal Servers also give you gear when the season ends that makes your character have a SUPER nice base to play with. Huge amount of content to do with a VERY extensive crafting and merchanting network.
      Cons: Forced PVP outside of Seasonal Servers (you can be flagged and killed), Extremely grindy but that's kind of the point of the game. PVP Focus since the combat is legitimately good does mean you can play this forever if you find a guild who's into wars (Think of War of Emperium like Ragnarok Online).
      Outside of those, we have some F2P mmos like Soulworker which I heard is pretty alright but I haven't dumped any time into yet, along with Dungeon Fighter Online still going strong but those two aren't really in the same vein as PSO2. But those are the top 4 MMOs i'd recommend, mainly because you can do virtually everything in the game without missing out on anything. Destiny 2 is also an option, but it's not a F2P game (Beyond Light removed virtually everything for F2P outside of PVP), and requires you to purchase 3 DLC total which makes it a VERY pricey game (Beyond Light + Forsaken+Shadowkeep for exotics).
      EDIT: TOTALLY FORGOT! Path of Exile is a great F2P MMO, it's more along the lines of Diablo style games but it's completely non-p2w has very satisfying content and will be receiving a massive update really soon which you can view trailers of (it's a complete graphic rehaul)
      Edit#2: Also I crap on this game a lot (used to play it for 6+ years), but Mabinogi is a fun game to hop on and do stuff. Nothing imo comes close to how free that game lets you do stuff but it is a little dated (DX9 engine) soo you might run into some lag issues.

    The very least I encourage ppl who will try this game is to just do ur weeklies for money. So when the game is finally worth playing, u can buy those cosmetics for the true end game.
    And Braver is okayish. Like ull do more dmg if u go Fighter or Hunter sword. But I guess the charm in braver is being able to go melee and range in the same main class. But let's be honest. Almost no one does.
    I enjoy katana braver, im just hoping for cooler PA's down the line

      Yeah out of everything atm, if you're interested in NGS 100000% do your weeklies! Even if you miss a couple weeklies, having some N-Meseta whenever you hop on is better than none and you don't have to do all of them too. I kinda wonder if SEGA is going to adjust the meseta gain at some point since right now it's like 500k a week for free once per account, but multi-weapons and upgrading can chew right through it

    • @narubell
      @narubell 3 года назад +1

      @@everydere Yea it's gonna get more and more expensive down the line so i can see either a meseta reward boost or an increase in weeklies.
      But still, passively getting 500k/week for like maybe 10-15min of in game time will definitely help players that are waiting for more rewarding content. Cuz it's not like the game is terrible or anything, it just lacks any meaningful reasons to log on very much. So whenever they decide to play, theyll have some good pocket change to gear up or dress up

    Talking about braver, I played bow from 1-20 and it was fun. I feel like the dmg is fine cuz you are able to output your maximum dmg at any range. It's consistent. Balancing all classes is not easy, imo. People want to see bow's dmg increased even if a little cuz it's just a tiny bit higher than rifle on paper, which already suffers from dmg according to the community. If they did increase the dmg for bow I feel like that would throw off the balance of where NGS is at right now. Close range classes have better dps cuz of risk/reward. Bumping up long range DPS would upset that balance. If people are just looking for the biggest numbers on screen then why risk yourself in close range when you can play long range and do same DPS numbers or a little less than close range cuz that is essentially what it will boil down to if they increased long range dmg. As of how NGS works now, chasing monsters when they move around as close range already feels bad so why chase if long range can do same DPS. As for toolkit, bow braver could be better but I want to believe Sega has better plans for it down the line. I do believe after so many years of feedback and such from the players, NGS could have had a better start cuz base pso2 already has a strong foundation. Sega could have implemented a lot of stuff from base. Like a lot of people say, it feels like a beta version of the game.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      Yoo you're completely correct honestly. Close range classes have an inherent risk+reward and NEED higher damage on paper mainly because of their travel time + close range. Ranged Classes will always have lower DPS than melee DPS on paper, since you do have 100% uptime and consistent damage no matter what. I think that's something people don't realize, which lead to a lot of "Force is Trash, Ranger is Trash" in early NGS, is that the DPS values average out to be about the same once you factor in that you won't have 24/7 uptime on melee. Bow at the moment is also bugged and will be fixed soon™ so the DPS will actually go up even higher (it's dimensional ray that's bugged). I think once we start buffing it like a lot of people are requesting, Bow might become the strongest weapon in the game since it would completely offset the balance. Once Winter update rolls around, I think we'll have a clear picture of what SEGA is intending for weapons especially since it will be introducing more class skills. Also 100% I feel like the game is basically a beta and released just a *little* bit too early, and would benefit if they just slap Early Access on it on Steam LOL

  • @XDD50Hz
    @XDD50Hz 3 года назад +2

    honestly the core gameplay loop in pso2ngs is not sustainable enough to carry the game through the winter content drop.
    For people wanna play challenging content there’s none. For people wanna min max gear the affix is relatively easy to get done for one weapon, and the chance of fixa drop is abysmal so farming one of those is pretty much like trying to find this one specific rock in a desert.
    The gameplay is solid in the game but honestly other than that there’s not too much to make people wanna stay in the game, maybe except for fashion but with the inflation in this early stage in the game it’s literally a no go for a lot of players.
    Honestly after the bouncer drop, if they really gonna just follow the roadmap update, the content draught is gonna be even worse because there’s literally no content during the fall, then the winter update won’t even matter because the player base will die way before it drops.

      Soooon ™ SEGA will let us cancel all PAs with any weapon action LMAO. I could totally see them pull a 1.25x speed increase on everything and make the game nearly 1:1 to base but with upgraded graphics one day. Also Yeah the core gameplay loop in NGS is def not going to carry through winter update especially with how easy the game is overall. ATM just getting +40 base units and weapons is pretty much enough to guarantee you won't have to upgrade until maybe March 2022 honestly, unless 5* Weapons are absolutely bonkers. Hoping SEGA implements some Phaleg/Masq/Sodam type deal by winter so we can atleast have some gameplay loop that rewards you for gearing up and has some sort of challenge. Along with some rewards for clearing those too, but it might also be SEGA waiting for the title system to be implemented before they start that. Still sad though that COVID basically pushed back Mag data from base PSO2 so I can't have my Nier A-Tomato Pod T_T

I really hope sega won’t be that dumb to think pushing more fashion in the game will keep it alive because as far as I can see it’ll probably kill the game even faster because people will get tired of the monetization really really quickly if there’s no content drop to back it up.

I believe the content will eventually be there and suspect if you picked up this game in 2yrs time it will feel a lot more content complete. Biggest issue right now for me is once you've maxed your character there is nothing to do with it in terms of challenging or rewarding content.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup I think the release was early as well, when I look at JP they basically went nearly a whole year of no content and all they had to look towards was NGS. On top of that SEGA released the global version so we had to AGDQ PSO2 Life Any% Speedrun episodes 1-6 to get us up to speed in NGS as well. I have a feeling SEGA was probably pushed to release NGS earlier than it should have, which lead to the current situation we're at right now. I think content in 1-2 years will be absolutely amazing for people who pick it up around then also, and I heavily agree that at the moment we're basically just maxing our chars then kinda sitting around as we patiently wait.

    I don't understand why this is such a hard concept: If you're not having fun, stop playing. Like I'm not even mad at you dere, but you just seemed to have such a hard time articulating such a simple thought.
    But no, seriously, I do appreciate that you're even capable of articulating it because so many people just aren't. And I recognize that some of us just want to vent and are self aware about it, but there's still so many people who just... aren't.
    Q: Am I having fun?
    A: No
    S: Stop playing
    "But I want to keep playing."
    "Then you're having fun."
    Like okay, I appreciate constructive criticism, but if you still want to play a game that you're complaining about, you're *still* having fun, so don't be going off like "this game is garbage" because you're basically saying you like garbage. I get the whole "but I want it to be better", but that's just life. I'd like to work 8 hours a day in a not hostile work environment but we can't get everything we want, and when a video game experience costs you nothing other than your time and your electricity bill, suck it up.
    Sorry, that's not directed at you, dere.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      YOOO that's a great simplification and no need to apologize for anything dude! Yeah it really boils down to play something that's fun. I may have gripes about Warframe for example and how they handle the game, but that doesn't stop me from logging on occasionally and doing fun stuff (I quit back in 2019 and STILL login on/off), and I think that's what a lot of people are missing. Sure NGS has not that much content since it's new, but I still hop on on/off and do cool stuff cause there's things NGS provides that no other mmo can provide and that's what makes it super fun for me LOL. Sometimes I'll even get some cool idea and then hop onto NGS to test it out cause I can't deny the gameplay is hella fun for me. Plus my favorite part about PSO2 over the years honestly, is how the game really promotes playing on/off. I don't think I've experienced an MMO like this in awhile where I can put it down for a while, do other stuff, then come back and have 0 issues getting up to speed or progressing and I LOVE IT.
      Like Destiny 2 for example, I REALLY want to get into it but everytime I do, I find out that there's a gun I missed out on because I wasn't playing constantly and now it's unobtainable for me at the moment. This happened super recently too with the new lever action rifle they dropped. The design of NGS makes me really happy that it's designed this way, even if it allows you to blitz through and run out of content immediately. I honestly love games where I can come back at anytime and not feel gimped LOL. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Josh!

    I think the issue people have with braver is just a playstyle mismatch. At this point, seeing players do crazy stuff with the class, you can't deny that the class is very strong, however braver mains in pso2 base were some pretty... passionate people lol. But I think it's like me where I loved braver in psp2i, hated it in base pso2, and love it in ngs; It's just a matter of the class changing from one game to another, and either accepting it or skipping it.
    The thing that gets me about NGS and base pso2 though is comparing it to past games in the series. Past games were not MMOs but they released as complete experiences, and depending on the game got expansions and spinoffs later on. Generally speaking, there was always A LOT to do in them to the point where you could dump thousands upon thousands of hours into them from the start and they had more reason to replay the game.
    In PSU your character's race and gender had vastly varying stats, this was good at giving the player reason to invest in many different characters in order to optimize certain playstyles, or create balanced playstyles where a race/gender's stats may make up for the class' short coming. PSP2i was especially good with its replay value because the new difficulty allowed players to farm earlier quests for starter-endgame gear, it introduced infinity missions which were tons of fun and had lots of exp and drop related benefits, the rebirth system (which was necessary for tackling the hardest difficulty) was a neat way to extend playtime, and since any class could use (almost) any skill in the game from any other class you were incentivized to max out every class just for build possibilities.
    PSO1 had 12 preset characters which were split into 3 different classes, but pso1 had unique weapons out the ass, character stats/equipable gear was extremely varied, and some characters had unique attack animations for certain/multiple weapon types that it felt like there were actually 12 classes rather than 3. PSO1 had fixed quests and section IDs for drops so unless you wanted to trade for your equips you were often incentivized to create multiple characters anyway. The exp curve in pso1 was so brutal that getting to lv 181 was about 50% of the exp needed to hit lv 200 which all but guaranteed that you were still gonna have something to do with your character(s) after fully gearing them out regardless of the mind blowing drop rates. But most importantly of all, pso1 always gave you reasons to go back and do past content and lower difficulties, unlike pso2 and (so far) ngs where you either only have to do content once, or the content gets invalidated every update; For example how there was no point in doing anything other than divide quests once those released.
    I know the issue is my mindset, and my past experience with the series, but NGS is that game where I want to do more but there isn't x.x.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      Heyy what's up ArgonPSO! You know talkin about making multiple characters in PSU based off different stats and such, made me realize that NGS doesn't really have anything for our alts to do (I have 10 characters in PSO2). Also man, reading about the designs of older Phantasy Star games from you makes me really want to play all of them to see what's really up, especially after finding out about PSU Clementine and PSOBB private servers. I agree too that in PSO2 and NGS (which 100% will keep on the same style), content kinda became a one and done type deal where you don't go back to previous content. I kinda wonder what exactly is the rationale for MMOs moving more towards that approach, because I really miss the older days of going back to previous content to get anything (I was HUGE into Ragnarok Online back in the mid 2000s). Also you're not alone about NGS, I ran into the same thing where I want to do more but there's nothing really for me to do. I've talked with other content creators + friends and other players who are really into NGS, and we all agree that the game is fun and nice, but there's currently nothing for us to do outside of grinding the same maps at the moment. I think a year from now, NGS is going to be absolutely great and give us tons of content to do. Luckily SEGA has as pretty good track record of adding some fun stuff gradually, but I hope we don't run into a Divide Quest situation too soon LOL.

      @@everydere Honestly, I would take DQs lol. They trivialized a lot of the game but I liked doing them. And I think they would also be set in a year, given the feedback about content I imagine they could shift priorities a bit as well. I don't play PSU myself anymore though, I think the portables are a direct upgrade in terms of gameplay and they're devoid of all the annoying things PSU had, but I know clementine reduced the penalty for breaking weapons while upgrading so they're doing lots of good stuff with it. As far as PSO1 goes, I recommend Ephinea; They have a fairly active playerbase, and they preserved the vanilla feel of the game really well while adding tons of QoL and new features.
      You should try them out sometime though, the combat pace is the main deterrent for people who started with pso2 but you shouldn't have that issue if you played RagO lol. Yeah I agree with your expectations. The way the game updated in base PSO2 (not NA but JP since NA was accelerated REALLY fast), basically followed a similar path of GW2 where you'd go a VERY long time without any update and just be playing the same game over and over. But once an update dropped, it always added something really good or something brand new to do. So ATM the latest update is dropping Braver which is a completely new class and in 4 days we'll have Defense quests which is a completely new thing to do. I think a lot of the complaints about lack of content in NGS TBH boil down to people expecting base PSO2 global release structures where within 1 year we blew through *8 years of content* . Even looking over the roadmap with delays, NGS is updating at a rate faster than base PSO2 and I was honestly amazed TBH when they announced we'd have Braver, Bouncer, Summoner, and a Gunblade class all within the next year. There is plenty to do at the maximum level of 20 in NGS. The problem is players and content-creators are expecting SEGA to have playable and repeatable activities (24/7) in their game like every other mmo rpg is, including PSO2 base.
    People are expecting this game to play similarly to the base version of this game. I don’t think that is what SEGA is intending to accomplish in the “launch” phase. I have faith that they will grow into a game filled with activities 24/7 but I don’t think it is the plan right now. I think their goal with the launch was to attract new players to the game; and get them to learn their classes before expanding the world.
    Like all mmo’s it’s going to come down to, weather or not, you the player, is down for the grind (the end power creep).
    Here is how you play the game at level 20 so you always have something to do.
    Step 1
    Break the game down into (4) main encounter types:
    Regular Mobs (AOE / Cleve)
    Pettis Veras (UQs) (Single Target)
    Gigantas (Single Target)
    Fire Damaging Bosses (Single Target)
    Step 2
    Using Weapons & Units, build custom, optimized, mid-max sets for each of these (4) main game encounters. Use augments, grinding, un locking, level breaking etc to power up each of these items. Treat all the items you use for each of these encounters as part of your character power gain.
    As you start to build custom / optimized sets for each of the main encounter styles; you will start to realize how much faster you grind gold.
    Step 3
    Ask people in the world to join you in a hunt. For example, ask people in central city to come hunt Mt. Magnus, Resol Forest or the labs with you.
    Step 4
    Hold a weekly camo-party, contest or event in game and on discord.
    Step 5
    Form a Giganta farm group. This activity is hella fun if you can pull people into discord on a weekend night for a couple of hours.
    Step 6
    Do dailies, weekly and seasonal(s)
    Step 7
    Collect red boxes, alpha reactors, and rare foods.
    Step 8
    Stop exposing yourself to sources that say their is no content if you have not mid-maxed your toon for at least one main encounter type.
    There are those who believe the power you gain from playing right now is overpowered for the content that’s currently available. It’s only the 1st installment and pso has historically made items relevant over multiple updates.
    Choosing to not mid-max right now because the content is “too easy” is an excuse. Every mmo rpg is always easy at first; and then it scales up down the line. Try to do everything I have on this list and see if you run out of things to do.
    I don’t think PSO2 NGS is perfect. It’s totally not, but it’s different which is what I like. This game right now is best for players who don’t need their hand held and can entertain themselves. The people who are complaining the most are the ones who have hours baked into prior versions of this game.

    • @everydere

      Yup don't forget also, the majority of people who complain about the lack of content *have not done a fraction of what you're listing* . For me since I've been playing since base PSO2 in JP and i'm super used to the update schedule at this speed, I pretty much spread out ALL of those steps you listed across the whole update since there's no need to rush at all and it's something designed for you to do over time. I think the only thing I did rush was basically min-max my gear + get my builds all minmaxed just so I could do other stuff and focus on gathering materials for future updates
