So well said. I'm reminded of the string theory debate where Prof. Lee Smolin lamented the status quo because the physicists we're not allowing new revolutionary ideas to challenge the tenured profs in their comfort.

I think Göttingen was also very important for the development of quantum physics and relativity from 1900-1925.
