    I see that you use a Motor Guide instead of Minn Kota like others. Didn’t you have a Minn Kota on your old boat? How does the Motor Guide compare for you?
    Like you videos. I try and catch them everytime you publish a new one. Keep up the great work and tight lines!

    • @BamaSaltwater
      @BamaSaltwater  Год назад

      I had a Minn Kota Terrova on my Scout 177, a Motorguide Xi3 on my MayCraft 17 and then I've had a Minn Kota Riptide on this bay boat, I sold it and purchased a Motorguide Xi5. (my current trolling motor)
      Minn Kota Advantages: Service centers are really close to me. LCD screen on the remote,. More accurate Lights for battery capacity is nice, Customer service is okay. The Spot Lock is nice and seems to work really well.
      Minn Kota Cons: Seem to break a little bit easier, Remotes can be finicky. Expensive (but aren't they all? lol) Paint coating on main gear case of motor can chip/ rust easily.
      Motorguide Advantages: Extremely quiet, really smooth motor, Feels really "durable", very Simple, Pin Point GPS works great too.
      Motorguide Cons: No display on remote, Service centers are hard to find, the remote lanyard buckles suck/break easily, lights on my trolling motor display do not show anymore but my motor still works as is.
      I personally still like using Motorguide just because it feels "better" constructed/made (not affiliated, not paid) It is a Mercury prodcut while MInn Kota is under Johnson Outdoors.

    If you want to put a lot of fun into catching those smaller fish start using ultra light tackle. I'm talking about crappie rigs. My friend and I started doing that this year and it is a Hoot !! 10 lb. braid and 10 lb mono leader and hang on. We actually caught some really good fish doing this. Great video keep up the good work.

    • @richardsqueeze
      @richardsqueeze Год назад

      It would work perfectly.
      It's more about conditions for the bite then the gear, that's all marketing. A stick with line and a hook will technically work.

    What sort of mileage do you get with that 250? The biggest engine you could get when I was a kid was a 220. You could hear the gas sucking out of the tank. used to make me tear up.

    • @BamaSaltwater
      @BamaSaltwater  Год назад

      Not 100% sure on exact numbers but I know that it definitely burns way more than my 90hp 4 stroke on my Scout 177 lol. I know I have an 85 gallon fuel tank and at cruise (30-35knts) I can go a longgg way before running out of fuel. Typically about 250-300 miles out of a tank of fuel if I run conservatively.
