The Ft. Morgan Pier is now open and available to fish! I filmed this video PRIOR to the pier opening, so no one was fishing on the pier. Thanks for watching! If you want to see a video of fishing on the pier, here's a link: ruclips.net/video/-Mo8RIshDU8/видео.html
To easily reset your line, tie on something that floats and/or adds resistance when reeling, like a floating plug. Let all the line out and reel it back in so it’s nice and tight
My buddy and I used to fish for Muskies in Ontario and when we have line issues, such as the ones you were having, we just let all our line out behind the boat, with no lure, and then reel it back in with the boat still moving.
I truly enjoy watching your videos. You explain EVERYTHING! From the lure to the line to the length of leader to the whole rod and then you explain where you’re at and why! This is saltwater fishing education! Much appreciated!
Just subscribed about a week now. Really enjoy the videos. I love fishing unfortunately I don’t get to much opportunities so watching you puts a big smile on my face. Thanking the Lord is most impressive. Continue the videos.
Myself and a good buddy of mine used to run all the way from the mouth of Fish River over to where you're fishing near Navy cove to catch specs all the time. Great memories !!!!
Those were some great flounder👍 When we were down there two weeks ago I kept missing those flounder till I remembered seeing you wait to set the hook. After that I went 3 for 3. Thanks for showing how it's done.
I really enjoyed this video of you catching those flounder especially that 20 in her doormat. Wow you diffenitely are going to do some good cooking and eating. Sometime depending how the blue claw crabs are running may want to stuff a flounder with buttery crab meat.
Great action! Hope you will return to do more of the top water ... One of the few times I could see the popper splash on retrieve vs other vids... also a catch an cook on these flounders ...bet they were perfection
Nice group of flounder there. I'd be happy with those. Here in NC, they have cut our flounder season to 1 month. We have 3 species of flounder here. Gulf, summer, and southerns. One of those is in a bit of decline, so they stop all flounder fishing for 11 months. They don't seem to be in a decline to me though. We can catch them like no tomorrow some days. Oh well, great video.
Hey my friend, I really enjoy your videos. I’m a new boat owner and I’m trying to build my confidence to go out and do some saltwater fishing around the bay . I live on the reservoir in Jackson Mississippi and I think I’ve built my confidence up to venture out further into saltwater fishing.
Michael, I also take possession of my new boat the end of next week (1st or 2nd week of Dec 2022) and plan to also drive down once or twice a month (3 hr 15 to Gulfport). We are dedicated huh! Where do you plan to launch at?
Them flounder will chase the bait. Drop it back down there after a hit, they will come back again. Aggressive fish , such an awesome fishery here for us in NJ.
One thing that I do if I'm out in a boat or a creek and my line is messed up. I put my line out in the water and let the current take it, then reel it back in after a few minutes, Most of the time it cleans up any mess that I have in the line. I do this most of the time if I have a lot of line twist.
@@BamaSaltwater that was my thoughts. 😅😂 I usually have anywhere from 250-500yds on mine. I can only imagine having to do it that way on certain fishing days. Others, I might have the patience for.
I might be the one guy that does this, I have had multiple reels and when I have one malfunction I have a spooled spare to replace it so I can then take the original home and fix it.
Another great video. I never really used soft plastics, but since watching your videos you have me hooked on them. I love how you explain the technique on how to use them
You know I recently started watching your videos and as I watched them more and more you're such a positive dude always got a good attitude spend time with the family and go fishing with Mom I appreciate it I wish I could
Man, I am not an expert but on the first cast I hear the noises (wind knot) and I was surprised how come you didn’t snap the line 😂 and I was right, second shot didn’t survive.🥴🥴
You mentioned the eyes are on top. But did you know at birth there eyes are on each side and the swim like any fish. As they mature there eyes move to the top and go to the bottom. And I really enjoy your show.
Yes! It's so cool to know how the eyes "migrate" over. Such a neat creature. Gotta believe in the good Lord to create such a neat living/breathing thing like that!
Awesome!!! I'm jealous. Quick question, is the reason most of you saltwater guys use braid vs mono the length of line used on long casts? Does the stretch difference make it that much more difficult?
Oh man Steve, I was hoping for a catch and clean and eat at the end But that's ok, I really enjoy watching you fish and learning from it. Thank you brother

I like your style big popper top water casting I'd just be out in open water and I know you do as well. Flounders are good eating Great video
I watch your videos religiously, I live on the east coast in Virginia and every time you do the catch and cook I end up starving for fresh fish
Went to Ft Morgan today and no fish…ugh! But the gumbo from Kravers in Fairhope soothed the pain! Appreciate your videos!

I’m moving to Spanish fort in December. It would be awesome to see you out there! Tight lines my friend.

I normally do that’ but this thing has 450 yds of line and I did not want to reel all that back in this morning 😂😂

I like Daiwa, just not a big fan of something I can't self service with the Mag Seal. They make some great products though !
Love that hat!

Appreciate the videos. Always positive! Can u explain how you setup the bait caster and maybe add in your favorite tips for guys with bad hands?

Great video. Pretty flounder. I assume you like your new boat.

I felt that .. 2:42 😩😭
I'm a total newbie at fishing, but your vids have been a big help, so I just wanted to say thanks for all you do! Awesome vid today, as always.
Another great video. I never really used soft plastics, but since watching your videos you have me hooked on them. I love how you explain the technique on how to use them
Mega Flounder!
You’re gonna have to finish up with that popper I’d like to see what that thing catches
Is that the new pier in at the end of Fort Morgan?
Yea
What a great day on the water! Thanks for bringing us along
Love your videos!
Nice day man
Another great video man
Thanks bro
You think a 7 medium fast mojo yak will work for redfish, specks and bass
Yes
It'd be perfect!
So not being a salt water guy, wish I was, do you rinse the boat and trailer off a lot or does the salt not do that much damage?
Gotcha
Yeah man! You know it. I love when that rod stays bent after the hookset
would have glass minnows have worked for you by the rock jetty
You know I recently started watching your videos and as I watched them more and more you're such a positive dude always got a good attitude spend time with the family and go fishing with Mom I appreciate it I wish I could
I wait and check for videos everyday. Thanks for the adventures some of cannot have in real.
Im at Hood now. You ever get into any freshwater fishing while you were here?
Have you caught flounder at the perdido pass using the voodoo shrimp?
Great vid
Hey bama what size Clearwater is your boat and did you have to special order for those side rails? Thank you in advance.great videos
Hi gang, would somebody please help me understand why the lure flew off at around 2:40?
The wind knot caused a weakness/choke point on the line and in the guides causing the braided line to snap.
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks for taking the time to help me out! I'm learning all the time.
@@DedicatedAngler No problem man!

Door mats for dayyyssssss
Great day fishing. Thanks for sharing it.
epic catches
Thanks!!
I was at the same rock jetties this morning and I didn’t even get a bite 😂

You need shirts that say "Got'cha"
Great video as always. Question, what type of knot do you tie on the top water lure?
Oh man Steve, I was hoping for a catch and clean and eat at the end
But that's ok, I really enjoy watching you fish and learning from it. Thank you brother
What the water depth when you were fishing close to bank/ rocks?
about 1.5 - 2 feet
Your videos make me wish I lived near the ocean
I also use vudu shrimp but they are a bit pricey
Five flounder per person per day or per season or keep limit?
It's 5 Flounder Per Person Per Day. They have to be 14" Total Length Minimum. You can keep them year round except the entire month of November.
If you’re concerned about injuring fish, crimp the barb. As long as you keep your line tight you won’t loose fish and they are easy to release.
How many boats do you have?
So how much did that biggest flounder weigh? He was a nice one.
I didn't weigh it but I would estimate around 3-4 lbs per previous experience
love the vids
Oh and the locals also net dams for bass, tilapia and every other living thing without any consequence.
