I'm so glad Laura was honored as the best Blues Guitarist of the Year! It is so well deserved! It is so exciting to watch her play so passionately! It would be like heaven to have been there at Humphreys during Laura Fest. I'm glad she came out to the east coast and I got to see her twice recently. I can't wait to see her live again.
I've seen BB King, Albert King, SRV, Santana, Ronnie Earl, Anson Funderburgh. Laura Chavez is at the same level as these fantastic guitarists. Way to go on the win, Laura Chavez. Bravo.
I probably first came across her playing maybe 3-ish years ago, and was bedazzled. Whatever any association proclaims, you were already a winner to me. May the ears of the world wakey-wakey for Laura.

I've seen a few videos of Laura the past few days and she definitely has that Ronnie Earl feel. I'm glad someone with her style won it and not someone who plays rock-blues. Not that the competitions are what matters, but I'm just glad that someone that's actually playing straight blues won.
