@@susanah3686EXACTLY and on the last second of the episode we see the computer and it seems that the last world they were in is our world. So going from a normal reality to cartoon one is so scary
I have psychotic disorder, and have had many psychotic episodes before, and I can say that being trapped in an artificial looking horrifying place while everyone else is acting like nothings wrong is a suffocating and terrifying experience. I could really relate to pomni in the episode, and think that the type of terror she goes through (fluctuating between being forced to accept the situation, pretending it’s a dream, being horrifying, and being intrigued) is really well done and accurate!
What’s so great about this scene is that for the whole episode, Pomni has had barley any time to process her situation. She definitely understands the gravity of it, but her feelings have to be put to the side because she’s being forced to engage in a wacky adventure. All until the end, where the conflict has been resolved and she gets to rest. And thats when it finally hits her: *She’s never getting out of here.*
absolutley INSANE how unsettling this is. like it's just fucking wrong. the choir being slightly discordant, plus the bombastic and overwhelming feel of it all. makes my guts churn.
Well, Imagine putting on a virtual reality helmet and when you enter you can't take it off, and even worse, you don't feel like it's in your head, it's simply terrifying.
I love how this song just captures the feeling of how completely and underly helpless and terrifying Pomni's situation is. It's "I am completely fucked" in musical form.
It's actually because it doesn't fit the situation at all, it's the juxtaposition of the upbeat and her despair that makes it work so well. The song itself embodies majesty. You can see something similar in one of the Evangelion Rebuild films, where there's a moment of children singing a cute song while the dummy plug is ripping another EVA limb from limb and devouring its innards. The dissonance adds to the horrifying scene. It creates unease & uncertainty; creepiness.
@@baitposterI would say that the song still has some undertones of despair, but you’re still right Edit; nvm you're right, after hearing it a few times out of context. Though, it does have some hints towards the circus itself; the song is constantly repeating the same short and somewhat melancholy but playful base melody, representing the cyclical nature of the circus. Mind you, it doesn't ever in the song say that it's a bad thing besides the end part with the down pitching trumpets, which holds what you said true. I also feel like one moral of TADC will be that our problems are invented by ourselves; is there really anything intrinsically wrong about the circus? It's not "real", but what makes it any less real than the "real" world? Don't fight windmills, stop gaslighting yourself. This is also represented further by what you said; all of the despair elements are superimposed by our own perception of the song.
You can literally feel the dread and insanity in this song. Imagine being in her shoes. Your body has transformed into something unrecognizable, You can’t remember your name and you’re in some sort of wacky dystopia and the people around you are just acting like everything is okay while you try your best to leave and go back to your old life only to be told that there is no way out and that the only thing you can do is just accept that this is your new reality. That sounds absolutely terrifying
I mean, what's more fucked up is that she probably doesn't remember her life. She just *knows* she had one prior to becoming Pomni. That itch in the back of your head reminding you, like trying to remember a song with a little tune or some lyrics without properly knowing the full song or the name. Dark, innit?
I mean, it's not too hard to believe that right?, wouldn't they bring up their lives prior to the circus? but ig that's just me overthinking stuff. I guess you'll be too focused on trying to gtfo rather than learning the other characters' pasts@@Scarifar1
Props to Kinger, He's been inside the circus the longest(among the currently non-abstracted) and his sanity is still on 30% while Pomni has just arrived and her sanity is already at 0.1% Also Jax probably won't be abstracted anytime soon, he seems to actually enjoy his time in the circus.
Jax is intentionally cruel because he believes driving the other characters mad will keep him sane. Guaranteed if he's left alone too long he'll start to crack faster than anyone.
@@terpsidance.I saw a mostly theory that Jax is why he is is because he is a jerk is so that other characters don't go insane and they are focus on him and is irritated and angry rather than being in pomni's situation

I love the feeling of dread this track gives. You really feel Pomni's despair as she's forced to accept this as her new life now. There's no turning back, only *wacky shenanigans* :)))))))
I dont agree with that actually I think pomni saw something in the void something that made her realise she can possibly get out of here and that she can get back to her normal life

@@PetitTasdeBoue right... but didnt the creators read the reviews? The show is ass. And nobody is going to watch season 3 anyway. Should have used the money to make a better show instead.
To be honest, if GLITCH literally ended the series on this ending, I wouldn't even be mad. It actually feels very sad but fitting. Pomni would be trapped in the circus for eternity, and would have to come to terms with it. You can just see this thought slowly set in as she starts to smile. "I'm going to be trapped here forever." It's so bittersweet.
Jesus. This is probably one of the most terrifying and suffocating themes I have ever heard in any series. really conveys the fact that everything is over for Pomni, that this place is where she will be forever, until she eventually falls into madness and becomes a monster like Kaufmo... although perhaps that is a better fate than remaining conscious of your new eternity all the time. I also feel in a way that the song is basically a "I give up" from Pomni, like a last swan song before giving in to despair, you can literally FEEL the sentiment of "it's over". It's genius. Honestly, my applause to both Gooseworx and the music team. The way they manage to transmit so much with just music and without a single word is to be admired.
@@SirenChatsit could kinda be like an early stage of a zombie infection where you have no control of your body but can see all the horrible things it's doing.
@@TheUnofficialHunterChannelthat actually might be it. In the scene where kaufmo sees pomni around the corner his eyes are not distorted, whacky or insane, just sort of a little glitchy but still somewhat clear

This scene is grandiose. I've never seen a character have a reasonable reaction to being trapped in a foreign world up until this. As someone else in the comments said, this is the ONLY moment of the episode where Pomni was not talking to someone or doing something or running away. It's the first time she had the time to think a little bit and process what happens and, for once, we have an actual normal reaction. She's going absolutely nuts realizing she can NOT leave this place ever. If there's one thing this studio nailed with TADC, it's emotions. this is INSANE
We saw all her stages of grief during this episode, and I never thought witnessing the acceptance stage would be so heartbreaking It's the kind of acceptance nobody ever wants, the acceptance of something that you really don't want to accept, but there's no other choice...
I dunno what you mean with "Normal reaction" since i'm not sure if would expect humans realistically and normally smile like that in that situation, but i agree with everything else you said.
@@creaomega2643 what i mean is, for example, in isekais, the character is practically always excited to explore the new world they're in, which i always found weird and not realistic.
The track's official name is "Your New Home" for those wondering. GLITCH has released the full ost of the pilot on youtube and other streaming services.
i gotta say, out of all the theme renditions i’ve heard, i like the one at the very beginning of the episode that’s bitcrushed the most. i hope we can get a full version

God, Pomni's reaction is so damn chilling. Not only is she forced to finally realize she's completely trapped, she has to SMILE through it to keep her sanity, because she also realizes that if she doesn't, she'll become abstracted and just dumped into that pit. Fucking hell this show is so dark.
It kind of is, the main theme plays several times and introduces the thing, this played for a minute at the end. Yet this is everywhere in the memes, the videos and stuff like that
@@ahhno4662 a main theme can play at literally any point in time, the fact it's considered the main theme when it's played at the end isn't impressive whatsoever, especially because the moment it's attached to is extremely significant compared to all the other times the theme is played + the theme takes priority in said scene compared to others where it's background music most of the reasons why it's considered the main theme are completely unrelated to it's actual quality (which is obviously really good don't get me wrong)
I believe that each character in the show was given a role. Caine himself in the promotional video said “here’s Pomni and her signature smile!” despite only frowning aside from her grin at the end. Jax seems to recognize this and plays along to the role he was given as the trouble maker to not become abstracted. This may be significant to point out the true purpose of the digital circus. The circus’ purpose--in my opinion--is supposed to be a sanctuary for people’s wishes. Since Caine talks about Pomni’s smile so much, maybe in the real world her wish was to be happier. It could also be where they have regrets. Maybe Pomni regrets not being happier.
You have a great analyzation to the show!I never thought of that!Try telling others like maybe to youtubers who make theories about this show, maybe they'll consider this
@@fayhay8011 that is far too much work for me haha, I’ve been writing and storytelling for 15 years so that’s just my personal opinion coming into play. If you feel however, go ahead and spread these ideas yourself.
I love how this basically implies that each person in the Digital Circus is trapped by their own internal desire to not return to the outside. Even if they think they want to when given the prospect of eternity in a world that doesn't exist, they're still far happier in here than they ever would be out there, free to be exactly who and what they want to be, but in all other aspects, trapped.
I like how from 0:21-0:43 it sounds vaguely like the kind of compressed synth orchestral music you'd hear on a SNES or PS1, emphasizing the fact that, as the Circus is apparently within an old computer system no-one has remembered to turn off, it's been stuck in the wacky wonders of the 90s Internet for a looooooong time, making the dread of Pomni's apparently eternal future stuck at this place all the more disturbing.
What I love about the ending piece is how it starts off so gentle, then gradually becomes this huge orchestral piece. In a way it represents Pomni finally coming to terms with the new life she's been handed. She finally has time to process things and as she does, the music begins to become louder and much more apparent. Just like her understanding of the fact that *she can't leave*. Plus it's the same exact tune that started off the episode in such a cherry and upbeat tone! God, it gives me chills!!!

And you know what? This tune would be the "triumphant orchestral music that played at the end of some grand adventure where the heroes save the world and brought forces of evil to their justice" in other works. But here, it's the start of Pomni's new life as a toy and as a prisoner. Poppy playtime style. This is so fucked up it's awesome.
It is literally identical to *every* single "I'm victorious" heroic theme that has ever been made. The song isn't anything special. The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.
There is something seriously unsettling when thinking about Pomni’s situation. She has been ripped from the reality that she was born and lived her whole life in, and thrown into one that is artificial and digitized. Pushing aside the fears of existential annihilation (the fear that the simulation your within simply shuts down and ceases to exist, either destroying or trapping your soul in the process), what ends up being really tragic is that without any ability to leave her digital dimension, and when all of her senses can no longer sense the reality she grew up in, she loses the ability to sense herself. Her fabricated body is the only thing she can sense, and while she knows it isn’t really her body, there is no longer any physical proof from her perspective that it isn’t. The only thing that attaches her mind to actual reality is her memories, but without any ability to know how long you can live without a true physical body, then how do you know how long your memories can survive. She has no way of knowing whether her mind has been transplanted into the digital reality, or it is still in actual reality, and being tricked into thinking it’s in another reality. Without any ability to sense her true self, then how can she know she’s her true self? Especially if she can’t even remember her real name. She wants to believe that she had a real life outside of the simulation, and she wants to return to it desperately. But now from her perspective there is zero proof that reality ever existed. There is now only, from perspective, just as much chance of leaving the digital reality as there was of leaving the one she believes she inhabited. It is in these circumstances where she’ll question the very idea she even had a life outside the simulation to begin with. Her very idea of reality is being torn between memory and sense, and the tension caused by this internal conflict will destroy her mind. From this point on, she will never know which reality lied or is lying to her, causing the destruction of all that she thinks is her, and that which is truly her.
For that matter I wonder how much memory she even still has. She remembers vaguely how she got in here, from some kind of headset, but she can't even remember her name and says nothing else of what happened in the real world. So that heavily suggests to me her memory has been severely compromised, with only some core of her personality and a few key memories intact. Maybe the show just hasn't brought up her past yet so she didn't mention it, but I would not be surprised in the slightest if she starts forgetting more and more of who she used to be on the outside world, if she hasn't already. But despite her loss of memory she can't ever shake the feeling that this world is just WRONG, somehow, and that she is from somewhere else, is someone else, to who she has been forced to be in the Circus.
It's either explicitly said or implied that most of the circus members have already forgotten their real life memories but know that they are not actually from TADC, so it's most likely that pomni will also forget what vestiges of memories she has left
I think the fact that the horror elements are treated more as an underlying thing acting in the background while the goofy stuff happens to draw your attention away from them absolutely pays off. The look that Pomni makes during this scene when she's trying to force herself to smile has unnerved me far more than anything in [insert your favorite analog horror series here] because it perfectly captures the cocktail of shitty feelings that come from forcing yourself to try to be positive in an objectively terrible situation. Especially one as existentially devastating as this.
A bunch of people stuck in a place that's basically an unending nightmare, just massively coping so as not to lose their last pieces of humanity and get thrown into The Cellar. Disturbingly poetic when Pomni gets to the last stage of grief and forces a twitchy, crooked smile onto her face.
The theme just sends chills down your spine, I feel like that its always in pomni's head, just that theme, If I was in here situation, I would go insane too. I see why kaufmo abstracted now.
It is literally identical to *every* single "I'm victorious" heroic theme that has ever been made. The song isn't anything special. The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.
I love how much of a contrast the theme is to the situation. Usually in pilots when you hear a song with such whimsy it’s for a spectacular or wholesome moment. But because of how confusing it all is it twists that theme on its head making it so much more sinister
and the way the music swells up doesn't feel like a glorious moment, but rather Pomni's insanity giving way to despair. As someone put in another music, "like watching a sunrise in hell".

This scene is so fucking good. The main theme slightly changed to make it feel more uneasy, like we’ve discovered a secret that we weren’t supposed to know. And then the the fucking forced smile at the end as you have to accept this new reality knowing that if you break you basically just perish. And honestly that’s the scary part, the fact being a mindless monster is better than being conscious. You can’t even end it all because Caine will just bring you back. It’s fucking horrifically beautiful.
I didn't consider this before but you are right. Meeting Kaufmo on day #1 really cemented the fact that you can't even just "resign". You not only have to get used to this reality, but make effort to stay used to it indefinitely, because just giving up will result in something even worse, probably worse than death, and also even more permanent.
Me realizing I won't be a child but an adult with new responsibilities of taking care of myself, and my finances which I have no idea how to do while balancing my studies.

This episode is a masterpiece, and this scene is *definitely* it's crowning jewel. The sheer cognitive dissonance. The horror blended with comedy. The absolutely pointless conversation between Jax and Kingster that works as a metaphor for the equally pointless digital food it explains. How it makes it SO CLEAR they've all lost themselves into playing their characters to hide from the reality Pomni is just realizing (even Kingster's surprisingly lucid explanation is just setup for a joke in the end). The awkward smile of Pomni's psyche trying to cope as the music swells. Everything. It's a masterpiece.
the entire point is to make it seem like theres a point. Nothing around them is grounded in any set of rules. The only thing anchoring them to any sense of reality is the "rules" they carry over from their previous lives, the adventures from caine, and the fact that they are sharing space with eachother; other independent minds. Nothing has a point
I love the fact that Kinger is the oldest not because he could handle it the longest but because he went mad in a way that doesn't lead to abstraction, he kept his psyche safe by going crazy instead of fully breaking down Especially since he isn't actually crazy, he is clearly smart as he immediately talks clearly about the fact that the food is pointless to eat, along with sleeping and such.
In my opinion this entire scene was the perfect ending for this pilot episode: the build-up of the main theme's orchestral version, the shot of the table (which kinda reminds of Da Vinci's Last Supper), the vibrant colors of the circus in comparison to the Void (like some sort of Plato's Cave) and finally the forced smile of Pomni who, maybe, still hopes that everything is just a bad dream.
This takes the genre of isekai into a whole other level. Like usually isekai is supposed to be something whimsical for you to explore or a place you’ve dreamed of coming to/happy to be there. Not in this universe. Pomni and everyone else have been transported here against their wills where they don’t remember their identities, are forced to be something they’re not, nothing in that world makes any sense, and most importantly….they have NO CONTROL. And it’s realistic in a sense bc if that actually happened to you, yes you would be surprised that you wound up in a place like this (even one you really would want to be in) but at the same time you’d be fucking terrified! And you wonder if you’d ever find a way back home or if you’re simply just stuck there forever. It takes the concept of isekai that a lot of us dream abt happening to us, and both turns it on its head and literally obliterates it. Like no, This isn’t a dream. It’s a never ending nightmare
actually most isekai the MC was sent there against their will, maybe the chose to go to another world but a lot of times they don't have much of a choice.
The absolute emotion this music fills me with is so overwhelming I can't even describe it. No song i've ever listened to has made me feel this way, and the fact that it doesn't need words to do this just shows how good it is at making this scene more impactful. The way it slowly builds up to the climax of the song while Pomni stands there before it cuts to the view of everyone at the dinner table. The way it just hits you so suddenly, a feeling of existential dread and hopelessness, all while sounding reminiscent of something you'd hear in a circus. It almost makes it sound like the music itself is pointing a finger at Pomni and laughing, reminding her that she can try and try again, but in the end it's all futile. Her being a jester in this world can also tie into this. It's all just one big joke. And she is the punchline. I'm looking into this way too much my god imma stop it there-
I love your interpretation of the song, the song sounds like it's mocking the very world she exists in. It has that "wonderous 90's video game adventure" vibe with the added sense of "yeah, your fucked, get used to it". This track has so much weight to it that to a bystander it sounds like the end of something grand, but for those with context, everything is just now beginning.
It is literally identical to *every* single "I'm victorious" heroic theme that has ever been made. The song isn't anything special. The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.
I think Pomni is basically Pistis Sophia, judging by how she stared sinisterly towards the computer, she was placed in there as punishment for creating The Demiurge (Caine), now longs to forever reach the physical world, she does through Jesus Christ.
The way the music makes my skin crawl is absolutely phenomenal. Truly shows the insanity that is processing in Pomni's mind when she realizes that she isn't human anymore, realizing that everything about her except remnants of her mind are gone.
This song feels like it would be written for the triumphant end of a grand adventure, so the contrast of it being the start of Pomni's new life is fascinating and fits oddly well
I love the orchestral theme so much because it fits the final scene of the pilot so well. Pomni's just been trapped in this psychotic, colorful, crazy world, and she is absolutely terrified. You would think the music SHOULD be something intense and horrifying, but it isn't, it's fantastic and extravagant as the circus she's trapped in, and that's what makes it so striking in this scene; how much it clashes with her reaction. It serves to intensify the juxtaposition of the horror and wonder of the whole thing. Soooo well done
I love they visualize Pomni mentally snapping. We either don’t see enough of it in media or whenever it’s done it’s never that great. But this…this is just perfect. Paired with her snapping in the exit room! this is how you set the tone in your pilot!
In our country, military service is mandatory for two years, and this is exactly what I felt when I enlisted. It well expressed the fear and despair of a future that cannot escape from this place.
Not gonna lie TADC could’ve been a one off episode. And I honestly think this scene proves that they wrote this pilot as both an introduction to the series or even just a really dark and bittersweet ending to a one off episode
TADC for sure has a lot of material to work with - especially with worx as the showrunner - but imo the pilot's ending would conclude Pomni's situation perfectly as well if TADC was for some reason canned. Like, we already know what happens to people who look for an exit for too long, and if there's no loophole or anomaly for Pomni to exploit in future episodes then shes just as fucked as the others, Kinger and Kaufmo especially. It's like you said, perfectly dark and bittersweet, and it makes me feel for Pomni so bad lmaoo It does make sense though, because Gooseworx admitted herself that she took inspiration from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - a short story with a similar premise to TADC, just a lot less comedic
This scene gave such a stressful feeling, it's like a song of dread and realization, Pomni realizing she stuck living in this world and never being able to leave, she's like the more self aware character, while the others are just clueless, she's such a good character even for a pilot! I'm really excited how they work out this series, and how it's going to develop, because this is probably one of the best pilots I've watched sense MD, and HH! So this show is gonna be amazing.
The others characters actually are self aware it's a simulation. But they have been stuck there for so much time they just sticked in with the situation, accepting the fact it's impossible to leave
@@Fox_King230 Oh, yeah I know! I just think that Pomni might be the more self aware person there because of what she's seen. She found an exit, which NO ONE believes in or has ever seen except for maybe Kaufmo, and she rambled around through doors, and doors, and doors, of exits and she saw that werid computer, which at the end reveals is what they are stuck in. Pomni might know alot more about this place then any other character. Plus, in the void, the exit leads to the void. So that leads to my conclusion, if Caine never got Pomni, would she have escaped? Maybe. But like I said, she might've seen something in that void NO ONE else has seen but for maybe Caine. Because he says "They'll get absolutely spoiled!" So Pomni might have saw some stuff...That's why she seems so damn traumatized at the end. But, that might be because of her realizing she's stuck on this place with no way out. And may never escape. Which makes her most likely the most self aware out of most of the characters.
Every character is self aware, they just all have coping mechanisms so they don't think about the hard stuff, like Gangle with her comedy mask and Jax and his assholyness. The only thing separating them is that everyone else accepted their fate and are just trying to not go insane, while Pomni just got here and all that realization is hitting her at the dinner table.
I love how everyone is just being nice while Pomni literally has a panic attack. This shows that exactly the same thing happened to all of them on the first day at the circus, so for them to stare at this from the outside is quite normal
@@TodorokiKamehameI think she saw the other side of the room from the computer perspective, then she realized where she was, or maybe she looked at her human form

О! Ты мой двойник.
Yep, she went through that exit she desperately craved, only to find that it was COMPLETELY WORTHLESS, AND DIDN'T LET HER ESCAPE!"

absolutley INSANE how unsettling this is. like it's just fucking wrong. the choir being slightly discordant, plus the bombastic and overwhelming feel of it all. makes my guts churn.
>"Overwhelming"
Literally *the* word to summarize this track and scene
Well, Imagine putting on a virtual reality helmet and when you enter you can't take it off, and even worse, you don't feel like it's in your head, it's simply terrifying.
No, it’s just me having an average day at school.
I like it.
yep
I love how this song just captures the feeling of how completely and underly helpless and terrifying Pomni's situation is. It's "I am completely fucked" in musical form.
Yeah
It's actually because it doesn't fit the situation at all, it's the juxtaposition of the upbeat and her despair that makes it work so well. The song itself embodies majesty.
You can see something similar in one of the Evangelion Rebuild films, where there's a moment of children singing a cute song while the dummy plug is ripping another EVA limb from limb and devouring its innards. The dissonance adds to the horrifying scene. It creates unease & uncertainty; creepiness.
@@baitposterthose evangelion rebuild films are fucking terrifying.
@@baitposterI would say that the song still has some undertones of despair, but you’re still right
Edit; nvm you're right, after hearing it a few times out of context.

I mean she looks like a human in a costume for the most part, she got pretty lucky with that. Could’ve ended up like Kinger or Gangle.
Honestly, I almost wouldn't mind that right now.
I mean, what's more fucked up is that she probably doesn't remember her life. She just *knows* she had one prior to becoming Pomni. That itch in the back of your head reminding you, like trying to remember a song with a little tune or some lyrics without properly knowing the full song or the name. Dark, innit?
@@scoundral2995 I dunno about not remembering her past life. The only thing that's confirmed is not remembering her name.

Props to Kinger, He's been inside the circus the longest(among the currently non-abstracted) and his sanity is still on 30% while Pomni has just arrived and her sanity is already at 0.1%

Jax is intentionally cruel because he believes driving the other characters mad will keep him sane. Guaranteed if he's left alone too long he'll start to crack faster than anyone.

It is literally identical to *every* single "I'm victorious" heroic theme that has ever been made. The song isn't anything special. The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.

Love how the volume gradually increases lol
From this point on, she will never know which reality lied or is lying to her, causing the destruction of all that she thinks is her, and that which is truly her.
holy crap thats alot to think about
For that matter I wonder how much memory she even still has.
I ain't reading all this I'd rather go read every line ever said in one piece
It's either explicitly said or implied that most of the circus members have already forgotten their real life memories but know that they are not actually from TADC, so it's most likely that pomni will also forget what vestiges of memories she has left

Me when I put on some weird VR headset thing and got stuck on a digital circus with other people (oops silly me):
Edit: thanks guys y'all are goofy
when I try on a rusty headset I found in an office space (I am unaware that it'll change my life forever)
Me when I feel silly and put on a weird vr headset and then it suddenly teleports me somewhere called "The Amazing Digital Circus" or something (foolish act):
Me when I put on a VR headset I found and it transports me into a video game world titled The Amazing Digital Circus with my new peers and I have to accept that this is my life now whilst experiencing multiple existential crises and mental breakdowns. Also I’m in jester cosplay.
Me when I'm transported to another universe for possibly the rest of my life with the fake sensation of food all because I put on a funny little headset(rookie mistake):
Me when I am magically teleported to another world with a digital pool to dr/own myself, causing me to have an existential crisis (womp womp):
Just moved into a new house. Listening to this helped a bit.

The blessing of indie.
To be fair - this track is really, *really* good.
I do hope the sound/music team knows how well they did on the Pilot.
Tf you mean "to be fair"??? Its the whole point. The track is amazing.
Well to be fair gooseworks did the audio and WROTE THE GODAMN SERIES.
As I have said before. The most terrifying thing is, who said the Abstracted are no longer conscious?
Me realizing I won't be a child but an adult with new responsibilities of taking care of myself, and my finances which I have no idea how to do while balancing my studies.
This theme makes the vibe completely unique, gives off a hopelessness + acceptance feeling but also a sense of denial too. Can’t be any more bothered about it, I’d have lost in on the first day in Pomni’s shoes too 💀
It is literally identical to *every* single "I'm victorious" heroic theme that has ever been made. The song isn't anything special. The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.
"And you said you'd love to be in a world of fantasy and wonder, but noooo. The moment you're actually there it's all screams and terrors, no laughs and cheers."
Fionna and cake:
@@sloft-70 omg you're right
I think it’s he type of fantasy world. This one is like the worst fantasy world to live in. Even worse then the really dark and edgy anime
But their world was merged with fantasy and wonder tho. And most of it was laughs and... "Cheers" (like that TV show that always plays there)@@sloft-70
@@umamifan Yeah, but I was referencing the part where Fionna realised that she killed innocent candy people that were corrupted by the winter king.
Angel food cake? (Nom)
YEEESSS I LOVE HOW EVERYONE IS PROPERLY ANALYZING THIS SCENE IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY
the entire point is to make it seem like theres a point. Nothing around them is grounded in any set of rules. The only thing anchoring them to any sense of reality is the "rules" they carry over from their previous lives, the adventures from caine, and the fact that they are sharing space with eachother; other independent minds. Nothing has a point
I love the fact that Kinger is the oldest not because he could handle it the longest but because he went mad in a way that doesn't lead to abstraction, he kept his psyche safe by going crazy instead of fully breaking down
Especially since he isn't actually crazy, he is clearly smart as he immediately talks clearly about the fact that the food is pointless to eat, along with sleeping and such.
Woah woah woah. Kinger is our term. It’s Kinga to you.
Me at the tender age of 17 realizing I'll be stuck with chronic pain for my entire life because it is, in fact, chronic:
The choir nails it. Makes it feel grand, suspenseful and hopeless. I love how much it plays into what's going on in the given moment.
It’s a never ending nightmare
uhhh watch rezero maybe...
Or watch ONE
@@Cappinspiffy is that an anime series cause if it is im interested, where can i find it?
actually most isekai the MC was sent there against their will, maybe the chose to go to another world but a lot of times they don't have much of a choice.

God damn this track is so well composed, it’s timeless already
The situation is, and is what makes the song have any value beyond that generic heroic theme.
no dude i get you … like i genuinely shed over 5 tears listening to it rn
I think Pomni is basically Pistis Sophia, judging by how she stared sinisterly towards the computer, she was placed in there as punishment for creating The Demiurge (Caine), now longs to forever reach the physical world, she does through Jesus Christ.
I though I was the only one that when I hear the song it make me feel weird, its not also the song, is the context behind it
The way the music makes my skin crawl is absolutely phenomenal. Truly shows the insanity that is processing in Pomni's mind when she realizes that she isn't human anymore, realizing that everything about her except remnants of her mind are gone.
This song feels like it would be written for the triumphant end of a grand adventure, so the contrast of it being the start of Pomni's new life is fascinating and fits oddly well
You wrote an exact same comment on the other video and made me question myself, thanks.

Not gonna lie TADC could’ve been a one off episode. And I honestly think this scene proves that they wrote this pilot as both an introduction to the series or even just a really dark and bittersweet ending to a one off episode
thats what pilots are: one off pitches to production companies
TADC for sure has a lot of material to work with - especially with worx as the showrunner - but imo the pilot's ending would conclude Pomni's situation perfectly as well if TADC was for some reason canned. Like, we already know what happens to people who look for an exit for too long, and if there's no loophole or anomaly for Pomni to exploit in future episodes then shes just as fucked as the others, Kinger and Kaufmo especially. It's like you said, perfectly dark and bittersweet, and it makes me feel for Pomni so bad lmaoo
It does make sense though, because Gooseworx admitted herself that she took inspiration from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - a short story with a similar premise to TADC, just a lot less comedic
So this show is gonna be amazing.
music is just so well composed, gooseworx crazy with it
The others characters actually are self aware it's a simulation.
What are the pilots you mean by "HH" and "MD"?
I woke up and realized I hadn’t seen the person I loved most for five months.
I love how everyone is just being nice while Pomni literally has a panic attack. This shows that exactly the same thing happened to all of them on the first day at the circus, so for them to stare at this from the outside is quite normal
The difference is that pomni experienced the exit door and entered the void, who knows what she saw
@@TodorokiKamehameI think she saw the other side of the room from the computer perspective, then she realized where she was, or maybe she looked at her human form
This is so amazing. I feel like the music swelling really represents how the insanity of all of this is hitting her at once, but she can do nothing but exist and accept the absurdity of it, at the cost of her sanity.
