Hi Mark, I am big fan of your channel and learned a ton of knowledge and I can’t stop thanking you. I would like to make one suggestion. If you have a doubt on the filter isn’t that you can do a continuity test from the LCD pin to filter if the ZXW doesn’t give the detail wen you click on the component???

Hi, Congratulations on sharing with us and with so much clairvoyance, I have a question, I do not have this component available at the moment, but can I substitute for one of another iPhone besides the 8?

I have a backlight problem on my 8 Plus. I have a dark shadow in the bottom right of the screen should I follow your way of doing it?

Hi, hope someone can help me. I have an iPhone 8 with backlight issue and a donor iPhone 8 board (intel). 35, 37 and 39 are normal value on J5700. R5733, R5734 and R5735 are good. D5661 and D5660 are ok. All backlight capacitors are normal.
Just in case I have swapped R5733, R5734, R5735, D5661, D5660 and U5660. The donor working fine with those parts that I have taken out from the other one but the phone still has backlight issue with the donor's parts.
    Any idea, please?

    D5660: Changed
    R5735: OK

Hello. It worked well replacing with a filter. But the original component actually is a 0ohm resistor!

Okay that makes total sense! Duh!

Even so, its Best to put a filter as a Protection for the rest of the line.so if it happens again, the filter is there.

Is it possible then to use a simple solder bridge instead? For example, just add short the 2 contacts with some tin?

@@declanross4484 Yes, 0 ohm offers no resistance at all

Iphone 8 screens will have metal tabs at the top whereas the 7 has plastic hinges
