    My husband and I just bought our first tent! Did I mention we are 71 and 65? Old dogs...new trick! Your video of Red Top is so helpful. We look forward to checking out EVERYTHING on your channel as well as your website. Thank you for giving us confidence to do this.

      Marilyn Wescott I’m so happy you have decided to get into this hobby. If you bring enough warm clothes and make a comfortable bed, you will have a great time. Please send photos if you take any. Do you live in Georgia? Red Top is a great tent camping destination. Electric sites are a little more comfortable. Thanks for the note.

      Frazier Douglass We live in the Tampa, FL area. We have a 3 night rez at Ft. DeSoto Park, St. Pete in Dec. and hope to get in a couple of fall practice runs when the weather cools off. I’m working my way thru your videos and website. Thanks so much.

      Marilyn Wescott I have an old video on Hillsborough State Park. Great place but you’ll need reservations. Many people like Ocala National Forest.

      Marilyn Wescott Visited Myakka River State Park many years ago. It’s another great destination but watch out for alligators.

      Modern Tent Camping Thanks, I’ll check it out. HSP is only about 25 mi. from our home. We camped in Ocala NF with our son, DIL, and granddaughter April 2019...Juniper Springs and Fore Lake. I think we are going to try Manatee Springs SP in Nov. Did a practice setup of our new tent this week. Definitely need some cooler weather!

    Very nice looking park. It not very far from where my brother lives. Looks like the grand kids had a great time. That was an awesome hole in one. Thanks for sharing.

      Camp Hard It’s nice to hear from you. Do you live in north Georgia? There are lots of great destinations within just a few hours drive. We live in North Alabama and have visited most of the state and federal Campgrounds in North georgia, Alabama, and eastern Tennessee. Thanks for subscribing and commenting. Frazier Douglass Yes sir, I live in northwest Georgia, I went camping at Red Top back when I was in high school but it has been about 10 years now haha, I don't have a Facebook but I post my photos on Instagram. We are at site 12. Lots of space at most of the sites here. I like it way better than the campground at Stone Mountain. Got to come back to these Recreation.gov sites that are on Allatoona here. We didn’t venture out much but did walk on the lakeside trail today

      @@GimpyCamper we have camped at the Sweetwater campground on Lake Alatoona and it was great. We had an extra large site near the swim beach. Think there are a few more good campgrounds on the lake. Have fun.

      I spent this last weekend in my tent in Mount Cheaha state park in Alabama...I tell my friends always look out of the tent carefully before fully unzipping the tent and rolling out...you don't want to crawl out on top of a copper head or a rattle snake...there are some pretty views in that park.

    I love Red top MTN ! It's only a 40 min drive from where I live. The deer are tame and can be seen near the camp office at night. Next Time you guys visit lake alatoona you really have to have a boat to do any good . The fish are biting at earliest Dawn and then again around suppertime. If she likes catfish there is good fishing down by the bridge neat I75. I cought several 5 and 6 lb cats there last year. A buddy of mine cought a 45 lb channel cat last month . On the point past the bridge . We use stinky shrimp and chicken livers. Gosh I'm glad y'all had a good time. I always enjoy going there! Me being handicapped I have to stay at the cabins. But it is fun whenever I get to go 👍

      Charles Murphy Hey Charles I wish we had talked before our trip. Your fishing tips sound right on target. This is our second trip to Lake Alatoona and both have been very enjoyable. The last trip was to Sweetwater Corps of Engineers campground. Have you stayed in the corps campgrounds? Thanks for the comment.

    Love the video and information given. I will be going in June! I want a larger tent site with water and electric. You said back end 24ft are larger, do you remember any of the site numbers?

    • @moderntentcamping
      @moderntentcamping  9 месяцев назад +1

      No, I’m sorry but that was a long time ago. As I recall, campsites vary in cost and the more expensive sites were the larger ones. All of the tent only sites were small. Those rated for a mid-size RV have more room. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
