Nice Guy doing great vids. I just got accepted as a Greyhound Australia coach captain after 9 years driving suburban buses. I expect it will be a hands-on and challenging job where I'll have to be on my game. I love everything about it. I don''t start for about 2 weeks. Can't wait!

I work out of the Midwest & the biggest flaw of the company is lack of communication. The OSC dispatch team is a nightmare, from calling an Uber, to cushioning, and attaching work. What bothers me the most is the lack of safety and the pressure that is put on one individual. I dislike the fact that bags aren’t checked! With the current events of the today’s world you think Greyhound would have better security. This job takes a lot of patience and a lot of baby sitting with ADULTS! The lack of common sense is beyond me! All jobs have their pros & cons, but working with Greyhound is something different 🤣.

I recently applied and went through the class training. It was all nice but once I got to cub I saw how unsafe and unorganized it is. I LEFT! My experience staying in hotels was ok but felt like an abandoned dog that no one cared about

I've done school bus for 10 years and obviously needed something more so now I'm Transit and love it BUT my dream job is motorcoach operator and travel... But I don't have anyone at home etc so would be fine for me. I debated on greyhound but hear horror stories, and ideas folks??????

A little late to your comment but I'm currently a driver going on 7 months, I used to drive school buses and shuttles before and I have to say it is quite a difference in the type of work. The driving is fairly easy, more so once you learn your areas routes, the make or break in each day is from your passengers. Some days, it's smooth sailing. Everyone respects your rules, no one asks you question while you're driving in a downtown metro area during rush hour, it's quiet, and everyone is respectful. Then sometimes, you have a bad apple, or a group of them and you get on them over a simple rule, some one will bang on the partition asking you how long till you get to XYZ location while holding a phone that has a GPS in it, baaaaad body odor, and I've heard some crazy stories but I guess I've been lucky so far lol. If you want to be a motorcoach operator long term, I'd say maybe look into charter only companies, I would think the stress and overall work environment would be better considering many people "need" to take the Greyhound, but most people "want" a charter bus.

The hiring process here in Philly sucks. I went through the whole process of completing the requirements for Greyhound in July. I'm still waiting for a call back to begin driver training. This is ridiculous

From what I can see on the website they are not hiring in Philly at the moment. Reach out to the staff who you initially spoke with and find out what happened.

I'm a former gh driver in Philly and that sounds about right with the hiring process... It took me 3 months to start gh school. They are very disorganized and the communication sucks. Just email or call somebody ( Superviser ) from the terminal. I'm not sure who interviewed you but usually it was either Greg or Patricia. Good luck

Yea same here, Greyhound posted a ad hiring for drivers in Chicago, i applied as soon as I got home and it's been two weeks since I haven't heard anything or got a interviewinvite. I already have my class B cdl. I had talk to someone and they said they are gonna start class in May. He look at my application and said there's someone in Dallas who has to look at it.

I'm a transit driver in Las Vegas. I do not like it. However, Greyhound isn't hiring here. We have some Greyhound drivers. I told them that I couldn't believe they quit Greyhound to work city buses, but they said that they hated Greyhound.

Hey Phil, got my CDL B a few months and I've been driving a school bus making $15 an hour since then. Thinking about getting into Greyhound when I turn 25 in April. Also considering maybe getting into one of the freight lines driving a class B truck. I heard they'll pay for you to get a class A license after a bit. What wage do you see young inexperienced drivers making as new hires at greyhound?

Hey Phillip!! Whats the biggest check one can make in 2 weeks at Greyhound? Did I hear you right, $1600 in one week? I am considering getting on with the Hound. My kids are older, I am married, but my family is used to me being away from home alot. Thoughts?

Depends on location, runs, 2nd rest, meals, delay pay. I made $1600 in 5 days. In los Angeles on the extra board I pulled about $4k a month. Your mileage will vary.
