Thanks so much, Janet! I love that crunchy sound, too. Thank you for watching! ~Kathy xo
Loved the Jetsons! Still waiting for my robot maid! 🤣 New to JJ so thank you for the ideas! 💕
Thanks so much, Maria! Wouldn’t a Rosie the Robot maid be wonderful? Thank you very much for watching and for your lovely comment! ~Kathy xo
Super duper enjoyed watching this Kathy!! Couldn’t wait to see the results and I was not disappointed! You are so talented!! ❤
Aww, Tina, you are so sweet! Thanks so much for watching! Hugs to you and Dave! ~Kathy xo
The papers turned out so beautiful! I haven't been able to find plastic placements yet, but will keep searching! 💕
Thanks, Sis! I keep collecting them a couple at a time. Thanks for always watching! 😘 ~K
I really like how you dyed the paper. I will have to give this a try. I need to go thrift store shopping first ☺ And the leaves are so cute. Great idea. Thanks.
Thanks so much, glad you liked it! Have fun “treasure hunting”! Thank you for watching! ~Kathy xo
This was a great video. The papers turned out beautifully. ❤️ I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the plastic placemats. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you so much, Dottie, I’m so glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!! ~Kathy xo
Love the idea of placemats. Never thought of 😊
I’m always on the lookout for plastic placemats. I love using them! You will too! 😊 ~Kathy xo
Great variety of ideas. Wouldn’t have thought of using the plastic place mats for that but they make excellent stencils for large areas!
Thank you, Jayme! I have found that the placemats come in very handy for dying paper and making pretty designs. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! ~Kathy xo
Nice job, you might try using hot water to dissolve the powdered products before adding cold water or cool water.
Thanks, Linda! The coffee water was still on the hot side, but hotter would’ve worked better. Thanks for watching! ~Kathy xo
Very Coo. Going to try this technique 😊
Awesome, I’m so glad you liked it! Have fun, and thank you so much for watching!! ~Kathy xo
I love how your papers turned out! You have a great variety of placemats. That is a very cool thing to do with the leaves. I remember the jetsons 😊. Yes, the flying cars and robot maids 😂. We did the pencil etchings with leaves when I was little too.
Thanks so much, Trudi! I keep collecting placemats a few at a time whenever I find them. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks so much for watching and for your comments!! ~Kathy xo
Stunning results! And I LOVE how you dry them!! I did the oven drying and it took all day and wore me out! So I have only done it 2 or 3 times and I am reluctant to do it again. I have fibromyalgia and this just zaps all my energy for a few days. I like how you dry them and I am eager to give this a try!! TFS!!!
Thanks so much, Lisa! I tried the oven method and hated the result. I’m so glad you found this method useful. I end up using three of our heat registers at the same time. Thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo
I remember everything that you talk about when we were in school I'm waiting for the flying cars as well. What a great idea with the leaves. I always wanted to know how they got so cool looking with all the designs. I will hit the thrift stores for plastic placemats. Thanks for the idea.
Thanks so much, I’m so happy you’ve been inspired! Have fun “on the hunt” for plastic placemats. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment! ~Kathy xo
Great papers! TFS
Thanks so much, Gigi, I’m so happy you liked them! Thank you for watching! ~Kathy xo
I sat riveted with a bowl of popcorn oooing and aawwing at the designs. What wonderful ideas!! I remember watching The Jetsons thinking that by 2000 there will be flying cars. Love those leaves. I need to get embossing powder and a hear tool. You rock, sister friend!! 😄😄
Thanks so much, Debbie, I’m
So happy you liked them! If it matters, I used embossing glaze, which is translucent. I posted the link to them in the video description so you can check them out. Thank you as always for watching! ~Kathy xo
@@AtticTreasuresEtc i forgot to mention about the divine Miss Lizzie I'll bet she is quite the diva and 'pack leader '
Oh, yes, she pretty much owns the neighborhood, lol!
Great papers. Love tumeric & beet root. And what you did with leaves afterward!! Great video. TFS! Austin TX USA
Thanks so much, Barbara, I’m so glad you liked them! I hope you’ll try the leaf project, too. Thanks for watching! ~Kathy xo
The leaves are absolutely amazing. Your pages are amazing too but it sure took a lot of placemats to make them blessings and love from New Mexico
Thanks so much, Judie! I keep collecting them a few at a time and love using them. I used to live in Albuquerque! Thanks for always watching! ~Kathy xo
Do I remember the Jetsons? Absolutely! And my 7th grade reading teacher said our grandkids would go to school on hover buses and no more gasoline engines. She literally looked like the 1950’s Barbie Doll, the one with the ponytail. She had cat-like black glasses with rhinestones in the tips. She was quite a neat woman even though she was very different from the other teachers. And I soaked up reading. We had reading cards then. Something new to teaching.
I wondered just why you would have multiple plastic placemats. Oh, now I know why. 🙄 😂
I wonder about covering a floor vent? I think using another cookie rack to raise it might give more air coverage to the whole cookie sheet?? I guess then outline the vent w paper towels held in place by the feet of the cookie sheet?? I live in Central Texas. I don’t think many houses here would have floor vents. Maybe some older with pier and beam construction??
Oh my goodness - the leaves! Both in the coffee dyed and by themselves especially!
You got some really beautiful patterns with the placemats. The one which just filled the paper was absolutely stunning. I can’t recall which one it was. It was very decorated by the placemat. Several were quite impressive. I don’t know that I’d try turmeric - the end result and the grit. I’ll have to listen again to how you blended the beet mixture.
I’ve taken to painting the coffee onto the papers when I dye them. It’s not as messy and beats the way I first tried tea dying with papers all over a protected table. I have to remember adding cinnamon to make the coffee fragrant with it.
I was so immersed in the leaves at the end that when I finished watching I couldn’t remember what I had seen earlier in the video. Ruh-row!! 😂
Thanks for sharing!!❤
Wow, Jenn, thanks so much for your lovely comment!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Right now my craft room is mostly in storage as we had a water leak that caused us to have our floors replaced, but that has finally been completed five long months later. Now we have begun the slow process of unpacking and putting our house (and life) back in order. I hope to get my craft room back in place and up and running by the end of August, so I hope you’ll stay tuned! Thanks so very much for watching!! 😊💕 ~Kathy xo
@@AtticTreasuresEtc I wondered why the gap in time for videos. That makes sense. A leak can be quite destructive! I’m glad you’re getting things to the resettling point. That alone has to feel quite good. Looking forward to the next video! Thanks.
Just love how these turned out. Had never thought of using beet powder... I have some, so I'll have to give it a go! Thank you! (:
Thanks so much, Deborah, have fun with the project! Hank you for watching!! ~Kathy xo

Did I miss the paper drying info?
Thanks. Beautiful paper!
Hi Leslie, thanks so much! I chose to put the bonus project at the end of this video to show what could be done with the leaves used in the dyeing process. The drying process info is at 16:46. Thanks for watching! ~Kathy xo
Cool 😎
Thanks so much, Chrisann! Glad you liked it! ~Kathy xo
My Roomba is called Rosie!
That’s adorable! Fantastic nod to the Jetsons! 🚀
What about using hot water to mix?
Hi, Patsy! You can definitely use hot water for mixing. The coffee water was pretty hot, but the beet and turmeric waters were cold. I have found that it really doesn’t matter what temperature the water is. Thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo
How do you use or what do you use your paper for?
Hi Dora! I use my papers as pages in my junk journals. Thanks for your question and thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo
There are flying cars now being made but they are so expensive that we couldn't afford them and I'm sure they have to figure out some kind of traffic regulations before they can be used
Lol! Probably won’t catch on any time soon.
your papers are gorgeous. Going to try it.
Thanks! Have fun making them. 😊 Thank you so much for watching! ~Kathy xo
