@@gigachad5568 That is not correct. Snakes in the wild literally rub against rocks and tree bark to get of their shed. If the snake is at the correct humidity and needs a bit of help, it's fine. As long as you aren't ripping it off and they're hydrated, the snake won't mind the assistance and it should not hurt.

If you pull it off rather then let them take it off themselves, it takes off more then they may want and even though its shedding doesnt mean all the skin underneath is ready to be exposed yet, just certain parts are

Talan Smith didn’t look like it was having trouble and the video is misleading telling anyone they can just do this. That shed came off easily meaning he could’ve just let the snake rub on something herself.
It might not hurt them in the moment, but it causes issues with future sheds. Sometimes it will look like the animal has started to shed, and if you peel it, you can risk ripping out a premature scale, or making them feel like their new skin is raw (like the aftereffects of shaving your legs with a men's razor). Helping your snake shed should only be done when it's necessary, and even then, you do not touch the snake's shed directly.

Something to bare in mind is that snakes like small, enclosed spaces. Large open areas make them anxious, so if she's ready to sleep and she recognises the box as her home then she'll go back by herself.

it comes off easily its the getting her to get it off shes extremely well hydrated shes just spoiled lol i have fresh water constanly available and she has her 'bathing' bowl as well as drinks from a squeeze bottle when shes out an about lol im an attentive mum💖

If you pull it off rather then let them take it off themselves, it takes off more then they may want and even though its shedding doesnt mean all the skin underneath is ready to be exposed yet, just certain parts are

Sometimes it will look like the animal has started to shed, and if you peel it, you can risk ripping out a premature scale, or making them feel like their new skin is raw (like the aftereffects of shaving your legs with a men's razor). Helping your snake shed should only be done when it's necessary, and even then, you do not touch the snake's shed directly.

Something to bare in mind is that snakes like small, enclosed spaces. Large open areas make them anxious, so if she's ready to sleep and she recognises the box as her home then she'll go back by herself.
