Great video. Really like that your channel is about working within budgets. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
All I did was pull up an image on my iPhone, then pull up the same image on my projector and make the projector look like my phone. iPhones (without night mode enabled) have a 99% color accuracy, so if you get close it'll be pretty good. It takes some finagling with the settings to figure out what you have to do but my projector does look really good using this method. For brightness/contrast I did use the AVSHD 709 things that are on youtube though.
The AVS HD 709 Patterns can be downloaded and played from a pc or laptop or any videos streamer without the need to burn it to any media or using the lower quality youtube version.
I have used the AVS 709 many times. Also if using the AVS 709 investment in a test filter is recommended. You might be able to use your phone as well.
I have the Disney WOW disc, which I use to calibrate all my 4k tv’s.
I just bougt an old Sony Str dn1080 for my projektor and for music, and so far it great!
Only minus, the calibration mic was missing, and its quite expensive.
