Fuckin' badass. I love it. Flawless perfect form with commitment to each action. Absolutely amazing. Now, give them each a two by four with a large spike in it near the end and have them go at eachother. Haha. Jk. COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!
I disagree with you. Farid did have power, but he was relying more on his upper body, compared to Kiyuna, who relied on his hips. And his expression was better, despite the squinting eyebrows. But yes, we're all entitled to our opinion.
In Shito-ryu, there is more kata than shotokan-ryu. The ways of doing kata are different as well. It is easier to practice for kata competition if you have more choice in the kata list of your school, maybe ? Just supposition !
He relies too much on his upper body, no hip movement which makes it look like he lacks speed and power Ryo really users his hips to generate power hence he is more crisp
kiyuna has improve so much in this short 4years
AMAZING!!! You can actually feel the tension of the competitors and the atmosphere inside the arena! Great display of kata from both!!!
Nota-se que Ryo já evoluiu muito desde essa época. Mas o outro atleta também fez uma bela apresentação.
Kiyuna had better feeling of the kata, he displayed a more realistic version of it.
Kata seems simple but it is very hard to make it this far
I think Kiyuna's kata is better cause his kime is from internal versus Farid Haghighi breathing is from his upper airway/throat...

Why shito ryu is dominating in kata competition nowdays?
Loco 34 I think shito’s katas are more demonstrative than shotokan’s. They also consider shito is a upper style

When he doesn’t put his plates in the dishwasher
Kiyuna was the obvious winner. But he needs to stop squinting his eyebrows.
farid haghighi is better than kiyuna....i like his kata....
He relies too much on his upper body, no hip movement which makes it look like he lacks speed and power Ryo really users his hips to generate power hence he is more crisp
