I can tell the numbers are real unlike many other RUclips racing videos. The ZR1 has a power to weight ratio of 2.49kg/hp and the Z06 has a better power to weight ration of 2.37kg/hp despite its lower power output due to its lower weight. The ZR1 clearly floored it first and both car have almost identical gear lenghts which is why the Z06 ended up having to reel the ZR1 in which it eventually did @ 0:48 The C6 Z06 is truly the best naturally aspirated performance car of all time in my opinion. It sounds and pulls like a freaking NASCAR with just a proper heads/cam combination!
OneTT we hit it at the same time and the Z06 came back because the ZR1 shifted to 5th while the Z06 was able to run out 4th otherwise it gained 0 ground on me until that happened
@@LSxDrew Z06 shifts at 7k as oppose to 6500 for the ZR1. a 14rwhp difference isn't enough to overcome 250lbs, worse aero .34>.36, and the gearing for the Z0 is better 1-4, given same rwhp as a ZR1, the ZR would lose every time based on those aspects alone.
Reason why I say that is because of driving a C6Z before and a ZR-1....both floored.....yes a C6Z is a beast.....no doubt....but the pull and gearing in that ZR-1 is SERIOUSLY NOTHING TO SLEEP ON...and I've seen 180s + in the ZR -1.....
@@nickadkins7765 the 250lb weight difference, the gearing of the Z0, 7k rpm as oppose to 6500 and better aero is why the Z edged it out...given both drivers being equal

He's a little slow shifting into 5th gear and the zo6 never shifted into 5th. That's why the zo6 pulled ahead

The aero is virtually identical. The z won because it tops out at 160 in 4th and the zr1 had to shift.
