    That 4-2 scoreline isn't doing justice. City scored 2 lucky goals after being played out of the park and should have conceded 6 or 7

      City had 2 expected goals and psg had 3 expected goals, not much of a difference as you think. PSG had 8 big chances and city had 5 big chances. Also bearing in mind 1.10 of PSG’s xg came from set pieces where as all of city’s xg was from open play

      @harrygonn934 Tells me that you are just a stat merchant and didn't actually watch the game. Both City goals came from a deflection of PSG players and if you look at who got the assist for those goals, there isn't one. Just relying on stats alone doesn't paint the full picture

      @SamuelAkinmade-jc9bz 8 дней назад

      LOl, you can sense luck in almost all the goals scored today. The first goal was saved from Bernando's shot and scored by Grealish, Grealish's pass to Nunes was deflected to Haaland to score. Nunes might have scored you never can say. On P.S.G's second goal, the ball could have hit the bar and gone out or fall to a city player but it takes luck for it to fall to Barcola. Stones was close to clearing the free kick that led to the third goal, while Gvardiol's header could have gone anywhere except to Goncalo Ramos.
      What if, what if, deflections are part of the game, it was not even an own goal, so City scored two good goals and P.S.G scored four good goals.
      Enough with discrediting a team's goal. CIty did well to score two goals in three minutes and P.S.G did better to score two in four minutes. The score was a reflection of the better team on the day., the difference in the scoreline may not tell the full story of P.S.G's dominance but P.S.G got a well-deserved and much needed win.

    • @jimmyniful
      @jimmyniful 8 дней назад

      @SamuelAkinmade-jc9bz Not really, PSG actually had momentum. The shot that hit the crossbar was a great attempt, but even if you eliminate that, PSG actually had at least 2 good goals.
      My point was that it's not surprising that Man City went on to lose the game, because they were not that good even when they scored.

      Agree. And Pep makes it worse with his system and players. We all know our MF exposes our defense and yet Pep still refuses to adapt the defensive shape. Should drop the backline a bit and play a flat back 4. Yet he refuses and is literally testing insanity - doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.
      I’m sure everyone in the team can see it too, yet Pep refuses. It’s like he’s setting them all up for failure and he’s unlearned everything from the Treble season when he adapted his system and tactics to the opposition. Disgrace

    • @douguette1
      @douguette1 9 дней назад +1

      @@ethandean4 Well but there are many differences. First, Man City is not as bad as a team that everybody is saying, they are still 5th in the league, only 2 pts behind Chelsea, and had 3 victories in the last 5 games in premier league (that is arguably the best in the World). So not so bad for a terrible team! Then I really think PSG got robbed against Atl Madrid and is very strong in L1....I think they did not have a lot of luck in Champions League so things might change, Man City is also 25th now but surely is not worst than all 24 teams in front. This weird new drawing is not completely equitable in my opinion but anyways. Finally PSG is one of the youngest (if not the youngest) team in the Champions League with one of the best player in the World (Mbappe) that has just left. Probably it takes a bit of time for the team to organize around that. In addition, there is the Napoli guy coming that will play the next rounds and he is quite a talent too. I am not saying PSG is a great team now but I would surely put them top 10 in Europe if not better with high potential players with a huge margin to improve. The difference is that as opposed to other teams that build like this (Porto and Ajax) they have a lot of money so can keep their players. They are building a bit like Man City did a while ago..They looked pretty good yesterday.

      they are behind club brugge and celtic and psv and brest and lille and feyonoord and monaco and atalanta and aston villa.
      when the knock out games start. you will remember than mbappe, neymar and messi were much better players than lee, barcola and dembele.

    Haaland doesn’t actually fit into Pep’s system. It’s like playing with a man down, and asking the mid to pick up the slack. But now they are stuck with stay humble until 2034. It’s similar to Thiago at Liverpool he completely killed Klopp’s system, and whenever whenever he was out for long periods the team started to play well until he came back.

    The most damning stat from that match is that city had only 37 percent possession. Burley is absolutely right. Their dominance in the past was based on possession football. They can kick the likes of Ipswich around in the so called best league in the world ( a league that Luton Town were in last season) but tonight we saw where they really are.
