    Excellent point pak Arsana.
Also, if the P.R.China irredentist "9-Dash Lines" claim is based on some vague 1930s / pre-United Nations historical basis, then how come P.R.China not "returning" Dalian (Port Arthur) to today's Japan which was used to be Imperial Japan's territory in 1930s? How come P.R.China not "returning" the ethnic korean-populated Yanbian Prefecture to the Republic of Korea and Inner Mongolia to Mongolia?
P.R.China also enforce this illegal 9 dash line claim with their own kind of "gunboat diplomacy", by projecting their military power. P.R.China maritime lines geographically was too far from Indonesia's EEZ until P.R.China illegally built artificial islands & military bases (e.g. on Fiery Cross Reef etc) with docks capable of supplying PLA Navy/China Coast Guard ships & runways capable of launching spy planes & Xian H-6 strategic bombers. Then also extend their maritime lines based on those "islands". There are several incidents caused by China Coast Guard ships on Indonesia Navy who guarded the North Natuna Sea. In 2021, some of P.R.China's sea drones made by Shenyang Institute were spotted & caught by Indonesian fishermen in both Natuna & South Sulawesi waters. Also in the same year, there were two PLA Navy military ships passed the Sunda Strait without permission to Indonesia Navy: the Da Yang Hao & Yuan Wang-6. Both have surveillance (spying) capability.

i think the statement Indonesia doesnt recognise the 9 dash claim is merely a lie to the people not just indonesians but to other SEAsians. how come u dont recognise it but suddenly u have project together due to 'overlap territory' ? if u dont recognise it, then there is no overlap territory. tbh, the project can be done together but not due overlap territory. give other reasons

cooperation between Indonesia and China has been since the time of the ancient kingdom. If there is a problem, it must be resolved in a win-win solution. let alone overlapping, we also cooperate in the Indonesian zone.

When China first made a claim on the whole South China Sea in 1947, there was NOT A SINGLE SOVEREIGN COUNTRY existing in this area! Hence NONE of them could and did stage a sovereign claim on the very land they were living on.
Indonesia DID NOT exist as a sovereign country then: it had been a firm colony of Holland for 300 years!
All the area was occupied, divided, and colonized by the various Western powers. Get this historic fact clear in your mind before any attempt to claim otherwise.
UNCLOS was created in 1982 - 35 years AFTER China claims the area - hence UNCLOS is NOT applied to the sovereign territories.

Wrong. That's a China irredentism claim.
Also Indonesia was already sovereign in 1945. While P.R.China only sovereign in 1949, that too was after Mao toppling off the official government of Republic of China.
If you are so insisting on history then why don't insist on bringing back P.R.C's Dalian (Port Arthur) to today's Japan, P.R.C's Inner Mongolia region to today's Mongolia, or Poland's Gdansk (Danzig) and Russia's Kaliningrad (Konigsberg) to today's Germany?

Before even the Dutch came to Indonesia, the Sino-Mongolian Yuan Dynasty already sent a punitive military expedition to Indonesia/Nusantara and laid waste on the Baghdad Library in Middle East. Before that happened, various chinese dynasties already had colonized Vietnam for thousand of years.
Talking about history will be an endless abyss of past faults. If u keep insisting on that, then P.R.China is definitely a neoimperialist with long imperialistic trace.

@@melvinchen8355 I see your futile attempt to create an ALTERNATIVE FACTS. Everybody can check online the various authoritative sources of history.
Your false claim: Indonesia was already sovereign in 1945. While P.R.China only sovereign in 1949?
FACTS: In 1602, the Dutch established the Dutch East India Company, then the government of the Netherlands established the Dutch East Indies which Dutch dominance extended to the current boundaries. The Dutch rule over Indonesia was interrupted briefly by Japanese invasion for a short period of time 1942-145. The Dutch then tried to return and the guerilla war broke out until 1949 when the Dutch gave up and Indonesia got its independence.
Your false claim: While P.R.China only sovereign in 1949
FACT: The modern China started with Republic of China (R.O.C) in 1911 after the fall of the Qing dynasty. ROC declared the sovereignty over the South China Sea and created the 11-dash line boundaries in 1947 after the Japanese surrender in WWII according to the Potsdam Accord. NO COUNTRIES around SCS including Indonesia registered dispute. The Chinese communists won the civil war in China in 1949, then took over the government in China, and maintains the claims over South China Sea.
Your false/irrelevant claim: bringing back P.R.C's Dalian (Port Arthur) to today's Japan, P.R.C's Inner Mongolia region to today's Mongolia, or Poland's Gdansk (Danzig) and Russia's Kaliningrad (Konigsberg) to today's Germany?
FACT: The issue at hand is about the sovereignty claims over South China Sea. You tried in vain to distract the matter to other irrelevant events. You ran out of arguments.

@@mslc22 Talking pre-WW2/pre-United Nations history was so outdated.. by 1911 Dalian (Port Arthur) was Imperial Japan's territory, not Republic of China's and especially P.R.China's (P.R.China was only established in 1949). Should today's P.R.China "return" Dalian to Japan, as how it used to be in 1911? 😁 Same applies to Russia's Karelia region which in 1911 was a Finnish territory, why don't you protest that today's Russia must return the Karelia territory back to Finland?
By that logic, insisting on 1911 history, so today's P.R.China also doesn't recognize Indonesia's existence as a country at all.. just, wow.

Currently, Pertamina is conducting a 3D Seismic Survey in the North Natuna Sea. They are looking for sources of oil and natural gas. Then of course, Pertamina can invite joint investment with CNOOC, Exxon Mobile, Saudi Aramco, or others. It's that simple.

EEZ doesnt mean it's Indonesia's territory. It's just give Indonesia sovereign RIGHTS, not Sovereignty itself.
China ancients' historical records show their post in Spratly and around, way back further than recent UNCLOS 1982
