Make another video doing it differently. I figured out another way to do it faster. Do one folder directory in your assets at a time for organization reasons (Synty/PolygonFantasyKingdom/Buildings or /Castle) for example Highlight all prefabs in Project Asset Folder Drag and drop into an empty scene's Hierarchy Highlight all assets in Hierarchy Right click assets and "Export to FBX" Create the correct directory for organization and export It will create ONE file. When you Import to Unreal it separates all the FBX!!! Delete prefabs in Unity Scene Hierarchy and repeat with the next folder!
@@HomemadeKaze no. You didn't do anything wrong. When you exported it sounds like it was parented to another transform. I have another video that explains how to fix this in Unreal. I'll get the link
Awesome tutorial man! Straight to the point and works great. I was even able to import a Skeletal Mesh in a similar way - by exporting the model file itself from within the Unity assets' folder. Thanks you for this!
@@IndieScapeGames couldn't get it working in the end as my version of Unity is out of date (I think, it gave me a prerequisite error of some kind), but I managed to get my FBX files across anyway!
What are the copyright/licensing implications of this? I get that we own the assets we purchased but it was passed through Unity and the Unity Asset Store.
@@IndieScapeGames Hi and yes. So I see the option to export FBX as you demonstrated however only on assets that have demo scenes like in your video. I have other assets that do not have a "demo scene" in their file. So if I just try to export a model lets say, with export FBX, I do not have that option in the drop down as shown in the video. So to be more clear, is there another way using the FBX exporter on assets that do not have a demo scene? Thank you!
@@IndieScapeGames Okay nevermind, apparently now it gives me the option which is fantastic thank you! I do have a small problem, I was able to drag in the textures but the one base texture will not import into UE for some reason. Is there another way or something that I should of checked off? Thank you
@@wesuckatgaming3874 no I've noticed that big as well. I can look into it more and see if I can find anything. Glad to be of some help though! Good luck
Trying to Import some 2D sprites over from Unity but instead of bringing up the FBX import options it just says "failed to import No Mesh is found or animation track" . Is the way to import 2D assets different?
Hello, great video! Is there any chance for importing multiple objects with the correct pivot point? I imported more objects at the same time and all of them had the same pivot point. I don't want to export over 2000 assets one by one :D
I will look into that! If so, I do think Unreal won't recognize it as a terrain. So sculpting and painting in Unreal on the exported object wouldn't work correctly.

Yea! You justified the other 30% of the Humble Bundle of assets I bought!
Excellent work, extremely helpful. I'll be going through this process tonight and will give you a shoutout!
Thank you! Let me know how it goes

Awesome dude , I am happy about this because I have a ton of Unity assets I want to use in UE5.
Some amazing assets I paid for in Unity but never got a chance to use. Very happy I'll be able to move them over

is there a way to import bulk of prefabs at once instead of one by one
Great info ty! Is there one for import export models with animations? I saw the selection boxes but a video does more justice lol
I will make one for you! Animations in Unreal is still a it foreign but we can learn together
What assets are you importing into Unreal?
some free 2d assets for my dungeon crawler. I keep getting the no mesh detected error
@thelionszen3352 if you take a screenshot, let me know and I will see if I can help!

TKS!
How to import unreal engine asset into unity ?
THankssss so much!!!
What if there is no "Demo scene" only model/anim/marterials folders? I don't have the export FBX option then..
Did you import the FBX Exporter in Unity's Package Manager?

2d will probably be different.
I'm not well versed in 2D but can try to help out. Join our discord and show me what you are working with
how about VFX? I feel like this is something that cant be imported.
THX a lot. U save my time😀
Just life saving but how do you export animations from unity to unreal
Is the FBX that was exported an animated model or static mesh? I can look into this for sure
Is there anyway I can transfer my level/terrain from unity to unreal?
I do believe you may be able to export a terrain from Unity as an FBX, but foliage, trees, and detail meshes will not be included!
Embed textures is not popping up for me
Are you still having issues? Let me know what version of Unity you are using

Genshin to Unreal Engine would be insane but yet the models wont be that proportional. xd
