I am ONLY interested in Fostering/Adopting teens. Your video was right on the money as to why.

A&J Vlogs I don’t know if anyone you know has kids or if you have nieces or nephews. Definitely do an age group you at like to be around and also consider what age group you can take care of. I love newborns but I work a full time job so I can’t take off the amount of time is needed & daycare in my area is a nightmare which pushes me into school age kids.

i'm really curious to hear more of the "foster horror" you mentioned but i guess i understand that it would maybe deter people from fostering older kids

If you tell the placement agency that you'll take any child that needs a home, you'll get the most mental kids they have. The one's that will never make you smile, just one stressful situation after another every minute of every day.

I definitely had a placement like that and we had to call for a removal.

@@craftpaint1644 :( poor kids are probably like that due to years and years of abuse and abandonment

@@ihatehandles111when the safety and quality of life of everyone in the house is at stake, the kid will need institution not foster parents.

Some people need more help than others and professional help. & that’s ok. At the end of the day, if a child is ultimately not getting the care they need, you are doing a disservice to them and your family by trying to “stick” it out. Safety is always top priority and mental health care is as important as physical care. There is so much to consider and I can guarantee that people don’t make removal calls lightly.

    What about pre-teens....like 12 or 13?

    • @FloridaGrownAdventure

I have not fostered a preteen but I feel like it would be a similar experience. :)

We only just qualified last week to be foster parents. We are specifically going to be taking teenagers here in England where we live.

Can you make a video about ho they treats the kids in foster care pls

This definitely varies by foster parent, but in my experience, I have not encountered a foster parent that did not treat the children/families with love and respect with the exception of one family that I believe just had unrealistic expectations.

I would really like to get in contact with you and rack your brain about fostering teenagers.
