I'm going to Nick Kollas' next spring to learn how to deal blackjack. Trying to memorize basic strategy, some say always double on eleven, etc etc. I like this way the best, easy to remember...I want to be able to give the players good advice if they ask and be good at what I do when we move to Las Vegas is all! I will say to ALWAYS split 8s, split Aces, and ALWAYS stand on soft 20, that's my advice! Great video BTW!
Insurance absolutely works if u count cards. If the true count is plus 3 or more u take insurance. Worked for me like a charm. Hit the 15s and 16s if the true count is minus 3 or more, worked for me also.
I totally disagree with him at 12:55. The dealer must draw with a 4 and you have a hand that not only is not a 17 or better, but you can't bust no matter what you draw. This is a great time to MAXIMIZE your bet!
I agree with all hooter comments... Damn, she makes it hard to concentrate on the cards... As for the lessons... Thanks Mike... I'll give it a shot, but need to watch it a few more times... just to make sure i didn't miss something... lol Good Stuff !
He's not saying the Wizard's Simple Strategy is better than Basic Strategy - just easier to remember. As a dealer, you've probably got a lot of good stories about crazy players with no idea what they're doing. The Simply Strategy will at least make the player fairly respectable at the table! From there, they can work to refine it to knowing the basic strategy. Also - surrendering works to maximize your bankroll!
Not the most well-produced video, but wizardofodds is THE BEST gambling site on the internet. I even saw a pit boss recommend it to a particularly bad player once.
A tip when filming with 2 cameras/angles. Never cross the 180 degree line. The 2nd close-up should beside the main camera. In this case its opposite, confuses the viewer. Here endeth the lesson.

She is probably a dealer or experienced player at least, not a student. Notice how she "feels" the chips on her double down @ 7:11. This is how dealers hand out chips which is not normal for a "student".
Francis Lecuak - It's the perfect losing strategy lol. Its how casuals lose the smallest amount possible. If you actually want to win, learn to count cards, it's more fun anyway. Basic strategy should be learned perfect first though.
I see it EVERY DAY as a dealer. I don't know when it happened but it seems 99% of the people are such cowards when playing. They are afraid to BUST . Also they have become a bunch of viagra munchers STIFF PRICKS.
Have you ever read playing blackjack as a business? In that book there is a chart players gain or loss by drawing on hard 12-17 A-6 A-7 A-8 A-9 when dealer stands on soft 17. There should be a chart for when dealer hits soft 17 the gain or loss.
It means this....Think of an Ace and 6 as "soft" 17, because the ace can have a value of 1 or 11. A hard seventeen would be a face card or ten and a 7. Anything "soft" has an ace counting as 11.
Oh yes we need a SIMPLIFIED version of basic strategy because it's SO HARD on its own. Oh PLEASE great wizard of odds, can you also give us a SIMPLIFIED version of tic tac toe strategy? It's just too HARD and COMPLICATED to FULLY prepare for the great and complicated game of tic tac toe, it just takes too much effort to do the WHOLE THING and I need a DUMBED DOWN version.
Soft is with an ace, meaning you can take the ace as 1 if needs be, hard is if the ace is already hard set to 1 or you have no ace. A3 is soft and K 4 is hard.
Greetings Card Counters! I have been a student, teacher, researcher, tester and player of the game of 21 for years. Here is my question, and point. What seat should you take at the table? The decision is not the end all of whether you will win or lose, but it does have some advantages if you count cards. The first seat or "first base" is optimal for a card counter. Why is this? Because the next card out is closest to the running count and when you make the decision to bet up or down.
great advice on basic strategy.. very conservative and aggressive stance on many of the potential options in a string of potential hands..? Have you decided yet to integrate a wagering ladder along with your teachings? It's the most aggressive stance against the game of black jack so far, it basically reverses the basic odds already in favor of the casino and leaves them vulnerable to be exploited systematically..? Enjoyed the video and insights..

@@GaryLuKOTH ok I will give you an example.
