    I'm going to Nick Kollas' next spring to learn how to deal blackjack. Trying to memorize basic strategy, some say always double on eleven, etc etc. I like this way the best, easy to remember...I want to be able to give the players good advice if they ask and be good at what I do when we move to Las Vegas is all! I will say to ALWAYS split 8s, split Aces, and ALWAYS stand on soft 20, that's my advice! Great video BTW!

    Insurance absolutely works if u count cards. If the true count is plus 3 or more u take insurance. Worked for me like a charm. Hit the 15s and 16s if the true count is minus 3 or more, worked for me also.

      I am not sure, but the playing deviation I read was that you stand 16 vs 9 at a true 5, 16 stands 10 at true 0 and 15 stands 10 at true 4.

    He's not saying the Wizard's Simple Strategy is better than Basic Strategy - just easier to remember. As a dealer, you've probably got a lot of good stories about crazy players with no idea what they're doing. The Simply Strategy will at least make the player fairly respectable at the table! From there, they can work to refine it to knowing the basic strategy.
    Also - surrendering works to maximize your bankroll!

    Have you ever read playing blackjack as a business? In that book there is a chart players gain or loss by drawing on hard 12-17
    A-6 A-7 A-8 A-9 when dealer stands on soft 17. There should be a chart for when dealer hits soft 17 the gain or loss.

  • @alwayson09
    @alwayson09 12 лет назад +1

    It means this....Think of an Ace and 6 as "soft" 17, because the ace can have a value of 1 or 11. A hard seventeen would be a face card or ten and a 7. Anything "soft" has an ace counting as 11.

    Greetings Card Counters! I have been a student, teacher, researcher, tester and player of the game of 21 for years. Here is my question, and point. What seat should you take at the table? The decision is not the end all of whether you will win or lose, but it does have some advantages if you count cards. The first seat or "first base" is optimal for a card counter. Why is this? Because the next card out is closest to the running count and when you make the decision to bet up or down.

    great advice on basic strategy.. very conservative and aggressive stance on many of the potential options in a string of potential hands..? Have you decided yet to integrate a wagering ladder along with your teachings? It's the most aggressive stance against the game of black jack so far, it basically reverses the basic odds already in favor of the casino and leaves them vulnerable to be exploited systematically..? Enjoyed the video and insights..

    The number players does or does not matter for winning? It matters. It is much more subtle than where you sit? No. It is almost equal in fact. The count has to be paid for in the game of blackjack. There is a charge to see the cards. The other players pay for some of those cards for you. Get first base on a table with about 3 players (3 hands) and this is the optimal balance of prediction of the cards and "paid visibility".

If your playing lets say double deck blackjack and the running count is plus 10 with over a deck played, you go up on your bet and unfortunately you get dealt a 12 threw 16, you should stay no matter what the dealer is showing because its very likely you will bust. Also let's say the dealer has a Ace up and the count is plus 10 you should always take insurance because its likely the dealer will have blackjack, these are just a few playing variations

    The BEST strategy to hv is to AVOID playing Blackjack, Where the bettor draws cards, get a bust, n losses his/her bet WITHOUT the card dealer/house having to draw cards to face off/compare with the bettor's hand; n if the bettor's hand/card total is NOT bust, the card dealer/house has a SECOND chance/advantage of drawing cards to "fight" against the bettor's total hand. This DOUBLE ADVANTAGE over the bettor gives the card dealer/house the GREATEST!! odds of WINNING!

    If she split the last 3s in the last hand, instead of busting she would have gotten a 20.

      +JMNYC84 This is exactly the kind of mentality you shouldn't get when you're playing blackjack. If you're so focused on the instant result, you're gonna have a hard time. You may have split those 3s, and won this one, but what about the others 3s ? Long term results show that it's not recommended to split because you'll be losing more money.

    What is the difference between a soft 17 & a hard 17

    • @thebooks2404
      @thebooks2404 10 лет назад +6

      Soft 17 is a 17 made with an Ace.(Ace-6). Its soft because its value can be either 17 or 7, whereas a Hard 17 would be some sort of 10 card and a 7. In other words a 17 that is only a 17.

    Mike says you never split fours, fives or faces. However, just now I was playing at Wizard of Vegas and I was dealt two fours and the dealer was showing a six.
    I elected to hit and was told that I should split......care to explain Mike?

    • @GaryLuKOTH
      @GaryLuKOTH 5 лет назад

      Basic strategy changes as the rules of the game change. If you can double down after splitting, split 4s against 5 or 6. If you cannot double after split, never split fours. Also, unless if you are counting cards, never ever split fives or faces.

    why do you always split 8's and not 9s? when im playing at the casino i am iffy about splitting 8s to a 9/10/A..

    • @PromotedPawn
      @PromotedPawn 5 лет назад

      because you’re better off with 2 hands of 8+X than 1 hand of 16. 16 is the worst hand you can possibly be dealt and it’s worth doubling your bet to escape the situation.
