My Thanks to you John. I finished my ultimate folding shaving horse yesterday. I could not have done it without your vision. I, too, had always wanted one of these gems but it wasn't until I saw your video that finally got me back into my shop. Thank you.
I like it 🙂. Cat's meow. I got a shave horse started quite similar. Fold up is a must for me. I discovered if you need little more double length of sprayed legs when compound angle is cut at bottom of legs. Cut half way & one cut does it.
I've been wanting to build a new shavehorse on and off for the last several years, but the main thing that's kept me from it was that they eat so much space for a tool that's irreplacable when you need it, but spends most of it's life as a bench. was even looking at those same plans you used and considering simplifying the ratchet part. This is brilliant!
Nice work! I've been considering building a packable shave horse but with bolts or pins. Your version just put all of my half finished ideas to shame ;) I'll probably just use your base idea and put my own twist on it, and of course build it using old growth Swedish wood. Thanks for sharing!
As mentioned in the description I built it around the Country Workshops "shave mule" shave mule plans, so the basic dimensions are used are the same as those - where it differs is in the pivot point. I will get that for you and add it when I get the chance.
Thanks for making me aware that the Country Workshops site is no longer working. I have updated the description to link to www.popularwoodworking.com/american-woodworker-blog/aw-extra-hybrid-shaving-horse where the same "shave mule" is described in detail.
The best folding horse design I have found. Thank you !
Been watching a few shave horse vids and this is the best design I have seen. Moving onto your other videos now

You're welcome! Would love to see what you create.
Looks great. How about some rough dimensions? height length etc.

I have now created a new video with basic measurements - ruclips.net/video/02edGsRJ-nY/видео.html Hope this helps.
Great work 😊
Very nice! Thanks for sharing!
At what angle did you cut the legs ? Thanks.
Looks like the Country workshop site no longer works. Nice design and my old shave horse is going to get an upgrade!

Greetings, Great! Thanks for sharing.
Do you have a link for the plans? Thanks
Very nice!
The link to your folding shave horse went to a popular woodworking page with nothing there. Is there another place to find the plans?
Sorry, no idea if it exists anywhere anymore!
