I Don't Usually Do Things Like This sick jam session in a live setting. Honestly I've always identified more as a songwriter rather than an improvisation guitarist, so having a totally spur of the moment improvised jam is a rare occurrence for me. Having said that, It was a ton of fun and it birthed a new song "Carlos Santana Claus."

Great little jam there 👍. Not sure why the guy bothered though, once you guys got going he was drowned out anyway. Wonder if he simply wanted to be on stage but he's not very musical. Sounds like a good open mic session though. Occasionally go to one near me (in London) that is focused around blues/blues rock and it's always a good evening.
Yea he was definitely drowned out, I don’t think those congas were mic’d lol but he did a nice job on vocals later on! Always love a good evening blues jam session
Hey nick! What tips would you have for someone buying their first electric guitar? Do you think the Epiphone SG would be a good option? And should I buy used?
I will always vouch for SGs! There’s been some really good epiphone models recently, I believe there’s one called the traditional pro that felt great to play. My number one piece of advice for a first guitar is to get something that feels good and to try it out in person. If you’re not comfortable playing it, learning will be that much harder. As for used gear, you can find some higher end models a little cheaper just because they’re used, just gotta make sure it’s all functioning and whatnot. I used to have an Epiphone SG. Was a very nice guitar and will do everything you want for a first guitar 👍 As Nick says always best to try one first, even if you don't play much, just to see if it 'feels' nice i.e. some necks are wider/rounder than others and is the body shape comfortable for you.
