THANK YOU! Ive tried watching all the RN teaching videos on RUclips since we went online(including my teachers)... yours is the only one that keeps me entertained and informed! Last semester I failed our first psych exam, I just passed that same test last week after watching your videos and I wanted you to know!
Your videos have helped me SO MUCH when preparing for my Psych exams. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and help us dissect NCLEX style questions!
I knew the answer is "C" to number one without pausing the video because I grew up in that home environment. My mother was Atilla the Hun. I wish I could have been diagnosed all those years ago...I digress. Thank you so much for this video ❤
On the last question with the medication Topiramate, this medication is used primarily for migraines and epilepsy.. Thank you professor D for the valuable information you give to us on a non stop basis.. Thank you!! Even though you don't always respond to my comments lol, I understand. Thank you!
I have been watching your videos since I started school and I literally hear you while I am taking my test! I always see at least one of your questions on my test also! I always recommend you to my classmates and to the cohorts of the people after me.
Professor D, your videos are EXCELLENT. always my go to for studying before tests. I’m in my 4th semester psych rotation now and you are a life saver. Thank you for all that you do!!!!!!
Hey Professor D, I was wondering can you do like lectures videos (Med surge, pysch, maternity, peds) about different topics for sophomore nursing students like me. Love your videos
Lanugo is not the thin and brittle head of hair but the presens of increased body hair (white long very thin hairs) especially along the spine and all over really to help regulate body temp
I have a question about the altered body image question. The answer (c) was “personal ideal body weight being perceived as normal”. I was thinking (a) “consume adequate calories to maintain normal body weight”. I’m confused because “c” involves the word “personal body image” and the clients idea of a normal body weight is much less than what it should be in anorexia. A didn’t specify using a patient specific idea of normal, so I figured it meant normal as in healthy normal. Can you help me see where my thinking is off? Just trying to understand these questions better before my test. I live this content. So helpful!!!
There is so much misinformation she has stated beyond the lanugo. Ive had AN for 30 yrs and it’s fact how hospitalization has a very low success rate. Now I at least understand their thinking, which of course isnt helpful for the patients and why they fail. Their reasoning is WRONG. She also only gave one scenario for why anorexics need control and there are many.
An ED affect a person not because she/he has seen an image on Internet and she want to be more thinner… it all starts with a disperception of the body that make you think that you are obese, but this isn’t the real problem because the food is only a way to demonstrate a problem that you have. So the ED is a way to comunicate a problem that you have inside you, like anxiety, fears, or some childhood problems that make you feel very bad. It is very difficult to destroy because it doesn’t consist only in “EAT!”, you have to do a very long and hard therapy to discover your real problem that has caused the ED or other problems.
Hi, the first question about family risk factors, ATI mentions that all of the answers, except for corporal punishment, are risk factors for developing an eating disorder "Studies have reported family characteristics of overprotectiveness, enmeshment, intrusiveness, lack of emotional attachment or responsiveness, and poor boundaries being linked to the development of an eating disorder. Another correlative factor of eating disorders identified through research is exposure to trauma, and in particular, sexual abuse." I get that perfectionism and overprotection are more likely to cause it, but how do we not get tripped up on a test if they ask a question like this

Lanugo is when the body literally grows tiny hairs all over to help keep the body warm because theres no fat to insulate the body.
