One man can impregnate different women every day for 9 months. One woman can only get pregnant once within 9 months, even if she sleeps with 9 men every day within 9 months. Society has placed the burden of contraception on the wrong gender. Loving how informative this video is!
I don’t think any reasonable woman will place the responsibility of contraception on the male, because “if” he messes up, we face the consequences. Imagine carrying an oops baby because your boyfriend forgot to take his birth control….
@@Jojo-pv3uf but when you say that, don't you think it's excusing men's behaviour of being dead beat and irresponsible with their sexual life just because they don't get to carry the burden.
Lorna outfit is giving me life! The Jean/ African cloth combination is 🔥! The purple earrings and lipstick cherry on top!!! Hope those pants are part of your collection ❤️❤️❤️. Thanks for educational topic!
I got a clot from using birth control, it lodged in my lungs , pulmonary embolism, its by God's grace that I am alive, I had an episode where I couldn't breathe and collapsed. Doctors were shocked that I was still conscious coming in to the emergency room. Spent 3 months on blood thinners. Guys make sure you know what you are getting yourselves into.
This was amazing. I didn't know about the need for ultrasound on IUD!! I'll get right on scheduling that. Also for me on the IUD I actually had the reverse experience just a bit of pain on insertion, literally like when getting an ear piercing and in 2 weeks my spotting was done and lighter periods from then henceforth (thank God).
Totally agree with Doc, I was the oral pill for 5yrs, I got eclampsia and had to get an emergency cs, During the operation the surgeon told me I had lot of blood clots in my uterus,
Being bipolar I could not be given hormonal contraceptives so I got the coil. Unfortunately I bled and lost so much weight had to remove it after 6 months. This conversation is very necessary for young women. So much ignorance around it and guess work coz for me I had done research on what method could work especially with my condition. How about those who just go in blindly?
I think the phrase 'family planning' adds to that stigma. I've heard some young girls refer to it as future planning and they are more comfortable with that.
Could you also speak about menstrual devices (for lack of a better term). Yaani, tampins, pads, cups... Pros and cons, for light or heavy bleeding... Do people use both?
so true we don't talk about it enough, not even with the adults in our lives ,some of us had to figure it out on our own...thanks for the episode learnt alot
Very informative session: thank you for preparing for this, bringing a professional to the session and giving us a lot of nuggets in under an hour.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wow…loved this session with Dr. Sule. I personally got pregnant with my first born on combined oral contraceptives. I mixed it with antibiotics for tonsillitis
Glad to hear that the hormonal IUD doesn't release hormones in the body. I took pills and got an irregular heart beat and loss of appetite. Luckily I had done my research and discontinued immediately because it would have caused a clot, worse stroke. I had a bad experience with the injection too. My body doesn't like hormonal contraception. I'm considering tubal ligation or vasectomy. I can't suffer alone.
Great topic :-) I recently had an progesterone IUD what the doc just spoke about. I’m happy to have a confirmation that I made the right choice. Here in Europe we have Kyleena em Milena. Kyleena is for women who haven’t given birth yet…and that’s what my gynaecologist prescribed. Let’s wait and see how my body will react. So far… my periods are prolonged but in a form of spotting. After one month I have acne around my chin, cheeks, but its a gone 👍The doctor said that my body has to adjust. So far so good, I’m glad about the decision.
Safe days failed me after 2 years of using. Now I have an IUD. 2 months now. I'm still seeing if it will work for me. Currently, I have so much brown discharge and spotting. Google says it's normal with an IUD. I'm still seeing
@@amythendi3030 honestly, I suffered. It was an uncomfortable procedure. I have low tolerance to pain so it killed me. But my friends just say it was uncomfortable. For me, painful. Plus the cramps that followed afterwards. Plus bleeding. Like yesterday I was at work and I started bleeding out of nowhere. Brown discharge that leaves patches on my sheets and clothes. The funny thing, it's not consistent. One week I don't see it, the next I see. So it's not consistent. Also, I also don't accept oral sex from my partner anymore. Coz I'm not sure of myself anymore. My gynae says once my body gets used to the copper, it'll all stop. I have 4 of my friends on the IUD. 3 have a similar experience as me. One doesn't experience these things at all
Questions: (1) What happens to the sperm after a vasectomy? Are there any health implications for not ejaculating the sperm and letting it "sit" in the testes?
Once a man have vasectomy/cut , The testes still make sperm, but the sperm die and are absorbed by the body, sperms can't get into the semen or out of the body. . The ejaculated semen doesn't contain sperms...
I think the impediment to getting this eligibility analysis done is the fact that we tend to go to the doctors with a set mind on what we want already, such that the gynaecologist is left to follow your cue and not advice wholistically.
Not really it's done even in dispensaries and health centers on a daily basis with tools that guide such wheels charts and all sops which chvs have for guidance and referrals
@@janetsimiyu2356 what you mean is that people are given information about the different contraceptive methods available. That's for sure. But the part where an eligibility analysis is done is what is in contention. Like Lornzie said, most of us go with an idea of what we want, ( with prior knowledge from friends of even our ever faithful Mr. Google) and most often than not, the gyanae Just gives you what you want. After all, it's a liberal society.

27:34 Shouldn't medical practitioners offer services without such biases, especially if we are encouraging better sexual responsibility? Also, vasectomies aren't all that expensive, not strictly within that range. It would be a good idea for anyone seeking these services-a vasectomy in this case-to visit a facility rather than rely on what they imagine it would cost. I promise they would be pleasantly surprised.
