She was just a girl going through hard times and he took it way too personally, enough to betray her later. If he really cared for her all those years - he would have came to realize that he, an adult, made the choice to ruin his reputation. He called himself a whore because she didn’t want to just run away from her duty…which is a massive one for all 7 kingdoms. So instead he cries about it and punches her fiancé’s boyfriend face in because he was threatened for the wrong reasons. He is definitely not the best character to go off of first loves but I definitely feel their chemistry before she sleeps with him, I think she loved him in her own way.
