I love you
You make wearing contacts fun. I wear the Acuvue Oaysys 2 week because the one day does not go up to cyl -225 and the -175 does not give me clear vision. But i love my Acuvue 2 weeks. I have tried probably 6 different types of lenses and these are the Best. Thanks again for making optometry Fun. You are handsome also.
Thanks for enjoying the videos! Appreciate it!
Just ordered my first 3 month supply of Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism - My optometrist is very patient with me - I have tried several contacts, the Acuvue Oasys seem to be the most comfortable and I can go about 12 hours in them. Thank you for the review.
No problems! Oasys is my favourite also 😂
I think I like Alcon Precision 1 toric more
I used to have a lot of allergies in my eyes. Not anymore but dont wanna risk, my optometrist suggested this ones but would you recommend me them?
Thank you so much for your informative videos.. and you answer our questions as well :) ,Pls can u tell whether acuvue one day lenses can be bought without consulting a doctor? (I’ve my specs prescription and recently saw your video how to convert them contacts!)
Hey Shreyasi, thanks for asking! It depends on how contact lenses are dealt with in different countries. Here in Australia we usually have the patient see us before ordering contacts to make sure nothing bad happens like a contact lens bioincompatibility reaction. So my answer would be to see an optometrist first :)
@@AntonioTheOptom okay thank you so much 🙏🏻
Thanks.. So informative for beginners like me.. Planning to buy one.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Antonio - For toric contact lenses for astigmatism, is there a correct side of the lenses to place into the eyes? Thanks!
Check your brand of contacts. Sometimes brands have the orientation mark and some don't. Biofinity and Air Optix for Astigmatism generally have a small mark at the edge which should go in at the 6 o'clock position. If you put them in in this position and you should have good vision without blurring. My final tip is that some lenses stabilization works better for some people's eyes than others. The Vita for Astigmatism are my favorite lenses but recently I have had some issues trying to get a hold of them so these were my back ups (prescribed and fitted for me).
you said there is also the bc 9 toric variant, can you confirm that?
Are they hard to remove? Dailies total 1 are horible
I find Vita to be much better than Oasys! I really loved Oasys till I tried vita last month, doesn’t feel like ur wearing a lens!! Vita is an exceptionally good lens..
Antonio! this was increadibly helpful thank you. For a 1-day, I'm between ACUVUE OASYS, PRECISION1 ACLON, and COOPERVISION MyDay™ daily. Do you have favorite between these 3? They are all about the same price with my insurance so I'm looking at solely comfort. I don't have astigmatism.
Precision 1 is pretty good if you can get it for the same price as the others but it’s best to consult an optometrist to see if the eyes are suitable ! 👍
@@AntonioTheOptom Both of my eyes have BC of 8.5 and DIA of 14.3 and it seems like Precision 1 only have BC of 8.3 or 8.7 with DIA of 14.2.
Only Acuvue Oasys matches my eyes perfectly in terms of BC and DIA which are 8.5 and 14.3 respectively. Does that mean Precision 1 will not be as comfortable for me compared to Acuvue Oasys?
@5:12 I'm a bit confused. I was told that I shouldn't take a shower with contacts. As you mentioned that these contacts feel dry after taking a shower, does it mean that you let shower water get into your eyes?
I'm asking because sometimes I want to take a shower during a day, i'm tired of properly washing my hands before taking them out and again when putting them in after.
Is there any trick, thank you. Also I really enjoy your videos.
You're not supposed to nap or get them wet (showering, swimming, washing face, etc.) I have the daily ones, they have a different type of contacts lenses if you wanna nap or get them wet
I have worn Acuvue moist for about 4 years without issue. Recent eye exam tuned up my script a bit and the doc changed me into Precision1 for Astg. Lenses. They are very comfortable but every night about 9-10pm, they get cloudy on me. Doc thinks I’m crazy so he told me to use allergy eye drops 10 minutes before wearing them. My eyes water more now than ever and these lenses get cloudy. Should I go back to the Moist for Astg or the Oasys for Astg? Thank you for making this video!!!
Why don’t you try to use eye drops?
@@Muzicboy3 I do. No luck.
@@BUZZB8Zwith Precision 1 toric? … I like Precision 1 toric better than alcons so called premium Dailies total 1 toric. The original Dailies total 1 lens is terrific! But to correct my astigmatism I switched to the toric with high hopes and was extremely disappointed!
Hi, I have a question: when i received my lenses there was no indication about which one is for the right eye and which one for the left eye (knowing that it’s not the same eyesight for both of my eyes). Can you help me with it? Thanks
Great question! Usually the clinic should label them Left and Right but looks like they may have made an error there. If I were in this situation I would call up the practice and confirm which eye is which.
Without me knowing the full picture on what your prescription is, it would be very difficult for me to provide you with a clear cut answer sorry 😢
Are the two prescriptions very different to each other?
I dont really find much of an option for daily lenses for astigmatism where I live becuz the only daily lenses i was able to find here was the acuvue oasys and the acuvue moist for astigmatism. Just wanted to know which one of those two was better so thanks man 😊
All good 👍
Oasys
I use Acuvue Moist 1-day to correct the -2,00 eye with a 2,25 CYL lens. The other eyes has -2,75 but there is no daily product. So I use the 2week Oasys model. Most optometrists went full rage on me for mixing, but it's the best solution I found. Their suggestions were to use the same daily one for both eyes, but I can't stand the difference even if it's just so little. Even if they are different I cannot find a good reason not to use different products, nor they could explain to me why I shouldn't.
Sounds like it should be fine.
Why not use 2 week for both
I just started wearing contact lenses for social stuff and since I know nothing about them I asked my doc for something "better than average" just to make sure my eyes are happy. Oh boy, I can confirm that these ones are floppy, somehow one edge bent funny when I was putting it in, couldn't take it out for good 40mins, excruciating pain that was. On the bright side it resulted in me getting 3 sick days off work for being an idiot and scratching my eye. Also it gave me +10 points to badassness since I had to wear sunglasses at home... 😎😹
Oh boy… I hope you’re alright 🙏
@@AntonioTheOptom Doc said I'll live to see another day! :D But I did need this video to idiot-proof myself for next time
Glasses look nice.
Hi when wearing contacts can little bit of rain water and dust cause any infection ?
Unlikely 😂
@@AntonioTheOptom okay thanks alot :)
I was wondering why they don’t make transition contacts for astigmatism?
That’s a question I’ve been asking JnJ for years! 😂
@@AntonioTheOptom ask them again! I want the transition for astigmatism! Lol

I’ve fallen asleep w these so many times. I fall asleep w them, bud when I wake up, I don’t feel like they’re in and they fell out. Has that happened to you?
Nope I never sleep in my contacts! 😸
@@AntonioTheOptom I’m lucky they’re acuvue oasys, so I thonk hey fall out my eye. No damage
@@jasonn_lifts you should probably still double check! 😂
@@AntonioTheOptom I did and tired putting eye drops into it to check, but nothing. I felt a little bump in the middle, but I think thats my cornea
@@jasonn_lifts 😂👍
Pass the ball.
Strange, I've always been said not to take a shower with contact lenses since it could lead to eye infection
Yeah probably not the best idea to do that as you’re more likely to develop an infection 🤣 but I occasionally get careless and forget to take them out 😅 I guess I’m human after all 🤷🏼
@@AntonioTheOptom surely if you do sport in contact lenses and sweat from your skin goes in your eyes it’s just as much of a risk of bacteria going in eyes?
@@iamg07 good point, but in my opinion it is still very unlikely to develop an infection from your own sweat - I’ve just never seen it happen before 😅
@@AntonioTheOptom good to know. how many times have you had an infection from leaving them in while you shower?
@@iamg07 mind you I’ve done it like a total of 3 times ever 😂 and haven’t had any issues so far

The science goggles look cooler than the glasses.
I thought showering with contacts in was a complete no-no?
It is, so I always take them out immediately if I forget to before the shower 😂
Are you from china bro ?
Nah bro I’m from New Zealand !
@@AntonioTheOptom You’re asian bro

@@AntonioTheOptom Hahaha
@@urbanistgod lol. I guess that makes caucasian New Zealanders not from New Zealand? Especially as Asia is closer than Europe to New Zealand.
