great speakers I have had them for years, like the guy said my math aint that good, I make it 135 years I've had em, I remember the excitement in 1879 when I fired them up.

C'mon commenters, he said he wasn't good at math. Dave, I hope you have a sense of humor, 'cause you're never gonna live this down.

For portability I suggest these or the Fostex pm0.3 if you can find them because they are discontinued and I don't know why and hope they don't die soon and I will only really use them at more medium and soft volumes anyways. I got pm0.3 because it sounded the best and I have always been looking for good small speakers since I will be moving back to Nelson for my 2nd year and want some very portable ones. Many other small speakers and even bigger ones just have either way too much bass or too much treble which is not only not good for my ears, It is bad for mixing and recording which is what I do and will be doing. BTW I play guitar and you can check the pm0.3 are also good for having flat sound. I don't know any better speakers than some of the small portable Fostex ones for very flat sound plus reasonable prices. The truth is flat and clear is the most accurate for recreating what a band and/or artist wants you to hear honestly, but so much options are out there and some peoples sound preferences are very different so it's like oh well you can't force everyone to like flat speakers with flat eq L0L. This guy obviously does not like flat because he called these super flat speakers crappy basically haha.

dont think you should say not designed to sound good, these speakers are excellent for mixing music as they have a flat response, used by pros like myself. goodness, do you WANT to sell em ?

Late to the party, but I think the fact that he’s talking to pros is the reason why he said that. He under sold them. To an audio professional, we would never use them in a mission critical mixing situation where audio is high spec, but to have that level of quality just ensure that everything is sounding decent on the fly is awesome. In a production van, no one is nerding out on frequency response. They just need to capture everything in the moment and not have to put up with iPhone sounding speakers all day.
You also have to remember that in 1879 these were game changers and were the main reason why the wax cylinder became obsolete overnight, regardless what Wikipedia says.

@@elephantgrass631 Absolutely, but those speakers give a great starting point.

@@19501960 At that price point, there are better options. In my opinion, I'm glad he said it as the pros know what's what, and the amateurs won't buy them saying: "What the hell! These sound like garbage! There's no bass and I can't mix my trap track on them!".

You're not strong in math. You have that much right.

Thanks, great pitch. But the new recessed controls: how do they perform for those of us with slightly fat fingers and accustomed to the old ones? Also, the price!!!!! Have they gone up since the last AES show I attended two years ago?

Your math counting years points out to why the price on this thing is sooo wrong.

It's not meant to sound good, it's not meant to look good it's meant to cost 300 euros.
    Or simply : Trash.
