  • On May 18th Joshua Deaton and three other members of the UNCG Atheists/Agnostics/Skeptics attended the Greensboro City Council Meeting to voice our opposition to the decision to include a prayer at the beginning of each meeting.

    We hope to start activism with other local Non-Religious and Free Thinking groups to have this policy removed.

    Joshua, awesome comment. I commend you for standing up and speaking out. We have done the same in several cities where I live and, hopefully, have made an impact, if not on the government officials, the public listening. You have made a a great impression on at least some people.

    What made this even more important is Joshua suggests that the city goes back to what it always did. A moment of silence. There is no reason to add prayer where there was none. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
