Hint: You might find it helpful to put the grill grate handles 90° to where you have them. The handles will stay a lot cooler when you go to rotate the grill.
I do the cold grate reverse sear with 1 1/4" steaks >_> have never splurged on 2". Hell, we got some Prime ribeyes for my birthday that were 1 1/2" thick at three of them were $150.
Thanks for the videos! Do you normally clean off the grill grates before you start searing your meat? It looks like you put the steak directly on the grill grate when there is a lot of ash on it still.
@@michaelendresen1817 I clean the grates while they're hot like everyone else. They aren't going to look pristine unless you soak them overnight in PBW or something, but a little char or ash on the grate is not going to hurt anything.
I guess I missed something ... when you pull the steak to the indirect side to let it come up to temperature after searing, do you leave all the vents wide open with the lid on, or do you shut down all the vents to keep the grill from getting real hot ?
I usually do the reverse sear method myself, but doing the front sear, you can close the vents down and let it (the meat) slowly come up to temp or you can leave the vents open for a faster cook. The point of doing the reverse sear is to get the meat wall to wall red, with no gray banding that you get with the front sear.
What's going on with SNS? Are they getting desperate to push out content? You have this video showing a nasty ass grill grate that should have been cleaned. I bought the overpriced 26" EasySpin grill grate. Guess what? It's 100% not easy spin. It gets hung up at the exact same spots as the grate that came with the grill. So disappointed in SNS right now.
i got my new grill for Xmas i cant wate to try a steak on it my viewers will love it thank you SnS

Yeah those thick cut steaks can get pricy but they are soooo good haha - CGT for the win!

If you have a costco business center, you can get prime for $13-$14/lb

why rotate the grill vs just flipping the steak?
You’re placing the meat on the cold side each time you flip, you get an all over sear versus getting grill marks from the hot grate.

Are you gonna be ok ??
@@HookFaced Yeah, I think so. It's tough to get over getting ripped off with false advertisement. I'll manage.
Hey @MrAirtaz, I'm confused. Are you saying it's hard to spin?
@@MrAirtaz What is "false advertisement" about using a grill that isn't brand new clean?
