I met and sat next to Jeffery Holland at a table, believe me when he looked and talked to me with those clear blue eyes and beautiful voice, it felt as though he could see right through me..he is everything he claims to be and more…blessed he is!
My favorite Christmas present from my husband to me was a A classic painting by world renowned artist Frans Schwartz that depicts an angel comforting Jesus Christ as experiences his suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. The Gospel of Luke describes the Savior’s dark hours in Gethsemane: “And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him” (Luke 22:43). Here the angel stands above the kneeling Christ, enveloping Him in a warm embrace. With wings extended, the angel seems to banish the darkness, if only for a moment. When we lost our 17 year old son Danny in a car accident his senior year of high school I knew that Angels were there around me like a warm blanket to comfort me during my grief. I believe in Ministering Angels too! I know they help us here on earth, those that love us in the next life come back to help us in our times of need. I loved this reminder. We love you Elder Holland.

It was a wonderful article in the Ensign in 2007. He spoke of what Elder Holland is speaking about here, in great detail. Worth reading. How blessed we are to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I have definitely known angels in my life and strive to be one in the lives of others. There is much we can do. It is on us!!

It was a Horrendous Event, of mere Moments! I felt a Power pull my foot UP OFF of the Gas Petal at one point! Yes! I needed Angels, as did the young man driving the other car! Michael is the commander (archangel, prince) of the angelic hosts of heaven. Other prominent angels are Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel. The New Testament seems to consider them as messengers. The Old Testament seems to consider them as warriors. I consider them as legendary.
As a lifelong Dodgers fan, I've often felt that The Angels are my biggest enemy. Thank you for enlightening and uplifting me in this heartless perspective, and learn to truly follow the words, "Love Thine Enemies."
I think anyone would enjoy the ministering of angels. I’m wondering if what you are saying is that when we may not feel the presence of angels can we still keep the faith? If that’s the point you were making, I think it’s a good one.
This is an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith was an honorable, moral man. However, I respect the fact that you don’t feel that way. I understand that you have, most likely, had different experiences than I have. If you have a secular perspective about my sacred experiences, then you probably will say that they are coincidences and delusions. I know that angels minister to us. One example was a apostolic blessing on all who attended the Christmas Devotional at BYU delaying our departures of our travels. Later that night an angel visited us with an admonitions which saved the six students in our car from being a serious accident. And guardian angels are real even though you can not see them. Your priority is right. We should always keep the Savior first. President Holland has taught that throughout his lifetime. I would just ask that you please don’t interpret simply honoring one of his servants as “worship.” If you understood the church better, you would know that we don’t deify mortal’s no matter how wonderful they are or were. But we do deeply appreciate those who have done so much good in this world. Mother Theresa. Martin Luther and the reformers who gave their lives so that we could all have the scriptures. Doctrine and Covenants 129 gives us instructions on how to determine the difference.
