My only problem with Pac-Man in this game doesn't lie in his moveset. It's that they brought back PAC-LAND instead of PAC-MAZE. Other than that long live the Pac, for he is back.
Pac-maze had a gimmick that makes it work only if you play on different screens. Since two players can play locally on the switch, what could they do? Remove the gimmick and just bring the stage back without it? I don't think that they would like to do something like that
@@marinanicole5693 At least the stage doesn't side scroll at such an overwhelmingly fast speed that you're more likely to SD than actually get KO'd by another fighter. Personally I don't like side scrolling stages in Smash Bros., which is why I would've preferred the maze.

I've seen a lot of people in the comments that say since it says P1 and P2 above the characters, it means it's staged. I don't think people realize that when you're replaying battles you had online and went to view them in the Replay menu, it does say P1 and P2 instead of the names of the users. So yeah, he COULD be playing locally, but it's also likely he's playing online.
Smash Ultimate did a load of great things for characters that were bad in earlier games, and yet still managed to keep everything pretty much balanced. Good on Sakurai! Ridley main btw

At 4:29, Pac Man's combo of using a bell, his Fire Hydrant, and F-air against King Dedede was one of the most hilarious kills I've seen because it resulted in a Screen KO! XD
This is the reason why Pac Man's good combo and air game can really "Pac" a punch in actual combat!
