  • When I finally found my land, I knew I wanted to spend as much time there as possible. My permanent camp location needs more work before it can be built, so I built myself a ‘tiny camp’. A place to stay to enjoy the land, comfortably, in the meantime. Other than building forts as a kid and some renovations, I’d never really built anything before. I figured I might as well learn, and get the learning curve out of the way before my big camp build. Here’s a compilation of videos and pictures up to the point I had to stop for winter. To be continued this spring….
    I’m learning- be kind! #offgrid #offgridcabinbuild #tinycabin #cabinbuild

congratulations. thank you for being honest and not claiming to be building in the middle of the "wilderness". the country looks like Northwestern Ontario

Thank you! Yes, it’s off-grid and quite off the beaten path as far as NB goes, but I can get to a hardware store in about 20 minutes which is a huge help!

Could you show us the inside of the cabin? Is there a wood stove & mini kitchen set up? It looks really quaint, I like it!

I’ll be doing some new videos soon of the inside :) It was a quick put-together race against winter. After going through winter, I have some changes I want/ need to make to make it more functional, and I’ll definitely be covering those.

Thank you! I’m eagerly waiting for the weather to warm up just a bit so I can get back to work! It’s been a lovely winter simply enjoying it though.

Nice job!.... my dream is your reality. Beautiful brook, have you fished it to see if there is trout there?

There are thousands of minnows, but I haven’t seen any trout. I am going to try and stock my pond this spring and see what happens! There are trout farther down stream though, so I can fish if I go for a little trip on my ATV :)

Well, for me, I saw someone posting this on FB marketplace. I messaged her and said please wait, I’m on my way to see it! I told her an hour later that I wanted it. Then, we both got our own lawyers who handled most of the administrative work. We paid for the land and some land transfer fees, and the property taxes. It really was a pretty easy process for me. Good luck finding yours! It’s about watching constantly, because it doesn’t last long.

Not living full time, but I’ve been there 1-2 days a week this winter. Anxiously awaiting spring, so I can continue work and stay more.
