It looks awesome! Yes, the red/blue sticker is gone and replaced by grey/silver. 😍

Got mine last week with the 13900kf. No fucking regrets whatsoever. Big upgrade over the 3090. Is it worth the money? Not exactly but it's not targeted at those who are complaining anyway.

Glad you have reviewed this GPU, quality as always. Finally got my ROG Strix 4090 OC, 13900k and ROG Thor 1200w Platinum II delivered early this week. Just waiting for my Cablemod 4x 8 pin to 16 pin cable to be delivered so I can set it all up. I'm not gonna bother with the janky adapter even without the melting issues as it looks straight up hideous.

@@AndroidPoetry Well when I pre ordered the Thor 1200w Platinum II a while back they poorly advertised it as ATX 3.0, when it's just ATX 3.0 ready with the x2 8 pin to 16 pin cable now included. I almost cancelled the pre order a week or so back when I found this out to look for a proper ATX 3.0 one but didn't want to ruin the chance of getting my 13900k sooner which I purchased with the PSU. There isn't that many ATX 3.0 PSUs out and It's not a big deal, the Cablemod cable will do the job and the PSU is plenty good enough.

Running Heaven Benchmark my 3800X cooled with an NH-U12A max temp on CCD is 62 C my 4090 founders - idles 32.5 hot spot 40.9 - Heaven Benchmark max temp 48.7. It gets a bit warmer playing games for hours maxed at 4k high frames, but I am not sure what its peak is as I don’t monitor it.

EK are producing a dual (front & back BOTH ACTIVE plates - so looks amazing from top and bottom with RGB) water block set for the RXT4090 founder's edition, called the "EK-Quantum Vector² FE RTX 4090 D-RGB ABP Set - Nickel + Plexi". Water blocks reduce the size of the card so that it would even fit in a small form factor case with a custom water loop, as well as gaining all the other water-cooling features (best possible temperatures giving the card the thermal headroom to CONSTANTLY boost to maximum speeds [so long as you also have a beefy PSU] in a way no fans would, silent running, reduced power passing through the card, greater stability and greater potential for future overclocking). The latest CPUs also run incredibly hot so benefit from water cooling, with the fastest DDR5 RAM also benefit from a water-cooling block as well. Could you please ask ASUS ROG is they will produce a Strix RTX4090 in partnership with EK so that it can be bought with the same front & back active water blocks, for the best performance whilst also fixing the "too big for the majority of cases" issue? I plan on getting a Cooler Master HAF 700 case and installing three 420mm radiators (top & side & bottom) which, when paired with the front two 200mm fans & rear two 120mm fans, should allow me to cool even super-hot gear to near room temperatures, I hope.
I NORMALLY go for the ROG STRIX OC card for every graphics card I get, but having seen the results you got, unless ASUS produce a version which is full pre-water-locked (active plates on front and back) for sale, then I am going to just get the Founders edition and water block that instead. They should also consider changing to display port 2.1

The ASUS Thor power supplies are actually shipping with a 16-pin to 2x 8-pin cable which is still probably better than those ugly and dangerous Nvidia cables, but I'm waiting for my CableMod 16-pin to 4 x 8-pin PCI-e just for the extra redundancy. Also, why are you recommending over 1000w for 16 pin? Why would the type of cable matter? Unless overclocking I've heard 1000w is fine.

  • @thepopeofkeke
    @thepopeofkeke Год назад +1

Length isn’t the issue it’s the card height. That card is 168 mm plus you need 32 mm to the glass for the stupid cable (unless you are waiting on the 90°) There was nothing wrong with the cable, kids were trying to shove them into cases that they didn’t essentially fit in

This isn't where the strix is special. It's cooler and OC performnace is with its 600watt bios. It's one of the few who do. True 600watts and actually utilizes it and gets a difference. Stock performnace across any of these cards is just varaince. Sometimes the strix will win sometimes the suprim x. Just the strix when OC def pushes ahead of the others. Same goes for the strix 4080 super which I have.

I just picked up the Asus ROG Strix RTX4090 OC. Couple things I hate about it aestheticly. First thing i hate are the red & blue accents on the bottom. Luckily I will be mounting this horizontally so I won't see that crap. Second, I hate the ugly ass RGB diffuser on the right side. It's just an eyesore. If I can't turn it off with software, I will be taking it apart and disconnecting the rgb manually. By the way it fits in my inwin 303c case. But the glass side panel will not close. So, an angled cable adapter will be needed. There is probably .5 to .6 of an inch of clearance between the card and glass side panel. Who else agrees with me about my 2 dislikes of the card?

Owning one myself I’d say I don’t like the power plug the most , it’s crap position wise , almost deliberately awful.
Also the mounting bracket should be full ditch as it is a heavy card
I’d also say the 4 into 1 adaptor is shite as well for a £2500 gpu, I’d have expected a better power cable.
Evga seems to be the on,y gpu maker who thought about the power plug and they ain’t bloody making one now….
I so wish Asus would think that little bit deeper about the whole card , not just 95% of it sadly which is what they did
The blue and red on the blower side also isn’t for everyone.
The build quality is great , it’s quiet and it’ll sit at 3045 MHz all day at 65degC so I’ve clearly got a decent result in the silicon lottery but that power laugh position is a dog , a total dog

Benchmarking this with such an inferior cpu makes 0 sense sorry to say. But the bemchmark cpu needs an upgrade asap. Because your data is very different from other testers 😕. Clearly cpu bottleneck

Its what we have tested all the old GPU's on and we didnt have time to retest 20 GPU's before launch (takes almost a whole day per GPU) but there are plans in motion now :)

@@OC3D Found the 90 degrees adapter but the MSI 4090 wasn't yet on the compatibility list as far as I could see and also I wasn't able to find a separate cable such as the one from Corsair which isn't in stock over at Corsair and hasn't been for a long time now.
You being the CableMod expert, did I miss a product that would work with my MSI 4090 Suprim and my Corsair HX1000i?

oh that's small, looks bloody good though but not worth the extra 500 quid and you still get that crap power lead, nvidia need too bin that connection off or send out a better lead too the ones who bought the cards

I’d love to take that shroud off and paint it black like the 7900 xtx, get rid of that hideous blue & red these idiots put on their. And they should reseat the power connector at the bottom that fits case grommets better at the bottom of the GPU line the EVGA card on a true vertical mount (thermaltake tower 900 is a perfect example to avoid GPU sag.)
