Zammo was a character on a children’s TV programme which ran from 1978 to 2008. It was an ensemble cast set in a fictional school in a deprived area, and covered a lot of topics facing teens at the time. It was very hard hitting, and received both praise and condemnation for it’s realistic and often painful view of life as a teen, covering racism, bullying, child abuse, teen pregnancy, etc. Zammo was a fan favourite in the 80s, and we followed his life from Year 1 (age 11) when he was a fresh faced kid, through puberty, and then his fall into heroin addition. That storyline is often referenced by people from the UK as the reason that Gen Xers don’t use drugs, despite the fact that Gen X have the highest proportion of deaths from drug misuse. Some of the cast were invited to meet with Nancy Reagan because of Zammo’s storyline.
Grange Hill!! An anecdote from a member of the cast themselves said that when they took their "just say no" to drugs campaign to America and went to the White house that the kids, unsupervised actually smoked weed and did cocaine whilst in the grounds!! Erkan Mustaf said he smoked pot and snorted cocaine at the White House with other actors from the British TV show Grange Hill - But Lee MacDonald (Zammo) denies this ever happened.

Then the actor who played him and others in the cast released a pop song 'just say no (to drugs), the irony being he later saud most of them were stoned as they did that lol. Now I'm only referring to the toilet facilities it doesn't have to include a shower cubicle or bath or anything fancy, but the ability for two people to do what they need at the same time in a three bedroom home, back in the olden days that could be as many as 8+ including two adults. How anyone got anything done in the morning I have no idea. Even now two people living together with their own bathroom facilities are generally going to stay together longer.
