Zendaya DEFENDS Teen Who Got In Trouble For Outfit Inspired By Her

Zendaya defended a fan on twitter after the fan’s school sent her home for wearing an outfit inspired by Zendaya calling it ‘too provocative.’
Clearly the school needs to check themselves on what they consider provocative because the girl was literally covered from head to toe.
Anyone who has gone to a school with uniforms or strict dress code guidelines knows that dress code rules are misogynistic af. Take it from someone who wore a uniform her whole life, every inch of female bodies are considered distractions. A high school senior named Hannah Whitely had an experience lately that is a perfect example. She pieced together her own version of one of Zendaya’s looks and was sent home after being handed a dress code violation for being what they considered too provocative. She tweeted a side by side photo of Zendaya’s look next to what she wore saying QUOTE - “When you just wanna look like @Zendaya but you get a dress code violation for being too provocative #senioryearblues.” First of all, her outfit is fire she looks so cute and second of all it is literally the opposite of provocative. So what the heck did she get a dress code violations for? Showing her elbows and the tops of her feet?? The school needs to relax. Zendaya tweeted Hannah back saying - “Provocative....where??? You look amazing.” Twitter backed her up by mocking the ideals behind dress codes with one person saying QUOTE - “Omgg noo she's showing elbows.” Another said - “Oh nO tHe UNBEARABLE SHOULDERS so provocative!!!” While another called it like it is saying - “It's outrageous and all these dress codes are extremely sexist because guys get away with almost everything.”
Don’t get me wrong, schools have the right to establish whatever dress code they want, but it becomes problematic when the dress code becomes less about helping students focus on their education and more about preventing girls from distracting boys with their bodies. Sounds like girl’s are being punished for something that’s really not their problem. Literally after watching this, I saw an article about a girl what was banned from her prom because her dress "violated dress code" because it showed one of her ankles. Meanwhile other students with mini dresses, low-back dresses, and midriff bearing dresses were allowed to enter. If you're gonna have a strict policy about dress code, don't single out people and have a more valid excuse than "I used my own judgement."

Nana Johnson Boys in my school complain because they can't wear shorts above the knee during summer but we have skirts. First of all, you either have to get hair removal of some sort which is a pain in the ass, or wear thighs, which get _super_ itchy when you sweat. Also you need to constantly be careful when you sit or get out of the toilet so your underwear wouldn't show, you can't run and it keeps moving sideways, at least mine. They can get their shirts off while playing football, while girls at other schools (not sure about mine) get in trouble for showing shoulders. *slow clap for society. And skirts*

Mind you we have a rule that if you put your arms to your side and the shorts are longer than you're fingers, it's fine which mines were but I was told that the rule didn't apply to me because my legs are too big 😳

duckface Actually since during puberty you are growing in all different places at different times, some people have longer arms. And not everyone can touch their toes. I had a friend who stretched everyday, played soccer, but just couldn't bend her back that far. You could literally try and push her, but it didn't work. Also, my dad has back problems so his back is all twisted and he can't touch his toes.

At my school, we have this super weird dress code. Like you can't have a bra strap showing and you can't wear leggings because they are too tight fitting apparently and tops can't be at all see through and you have to wear a separate short sleeve Tshirt ( not even a tank top it has to be short sleeve) and a bunch of other things that would honestly make it easier for them to put in a uniform.

That was me for the last two freaking years ugh so glad I'm done with high school.
I live in England and although we have uniforms there were still strict dress codes. Girls had to wear skirts that went to the knee, no one did this though and when it got to summer and girls wore skirts at a normal, respectable length nearly 30 girls got sent home that day. We all had to keep our black blazers on even in summer when there were heat waves, if you took them off in lessons because you felt sick from the heat we got detentions. We weren't allowed to wear jumpers with our blazers in winter at first but that got overruled because it was stupid, but they had to be plain black. We weren't allowed to carry out coats with us which was really impractical in winter when we had big coats and they didn't fit into our tiny official school bags. We all had to have "respectable" foot wear and boys would get sent home if they were wearing trainers. You only get to wear your own clothes when you finish high school when you're 16 and move into sixth form/college.

A dude walked around in a tank top for the entire school day (And can I add that we have a uniform that is not that tank top) and no one seemed to care, but then on picture day my best friend wore a shirt that literally only showed a part of her shoulders and her teacher yelled at her for it being "totally inappropriate for school". Instead of teaching boys that what a girl wears doesn't and shouldn't determine what anyone does to them, they are teaching girls that it's their fault. Like seriously wtf.
One of the jocks in my school on the last day of the year who're shortie shorts, and guess what he almost got dress coded but the teacher let him off with a warning .

my cousin was wearing a tank top that kinda goes down the middle in the top back then out again, kind of like a sports tank top i guess, and she went to the office to ask for something i cant remember what it was but thats besides the point. one of the office ladies told her to turn around and the lady saw her bra straps because of the tank top she was wearing. she dresscoded her and she had to wear a sweatshirt for the rest of the day, and it was hot outside and our school doesnt have air conditioning. our school is like hell. i cant wait until high school with air conditioning lol

my school has uniform 😢 and they come with rulers to measure our skirts to c if it is long enough and a lot of ppl ruin it for the rest of us and grade 8&9 r not allowed to wear dresses, crop tops or ripped jeans cause its either to reveling or to short BTW i go to an all girls school in South Africa and it sucks i cant wait to leave 😡😬😐😣
The arms are showing, and the cut of the shirt in the front is probably the main issue the school had. Personally i wouldn't wear this look. But it looks bomb on this girl.

Dress codes are soooo strict at my school you literally can't wear anything! lets say you bent over or reached up and your shirt rose just a little bit ,DETENTION & DRESS CODE 🙈🙄 and you can't wear ripped jeans Bc the holes are "to big" or up near the thigh area but not exposing any underwear or stuff like that still dress code. You can't even wear ripped jeans with holes on your knees like I don't think my knees are a distraction..🙈🤷♀️
Omg, my school is the complete opposite. Girls be wearing short shorts and crop tops without getting dress coded, but the guys wear a muscle shirt and get told they need to cover up with a jacket
