Greatest stretch of golf I have ever seen 1999-2002 tiger won 7 majors out of 13 majors played at this time we all thought he was going to win 100 pga tournaments and 25 majors that was the the type of pace he was on still 82 pga wins and 15 majors he is a all time icon for sure but there always going to be that what if he didn't have the injuries and obviously the personal issues

Tiger was dominent from 99-09 if he was still healthy he would have atleast over 110 wins he probaly would have faded off by now but if it wasnt for that first accident he would be healthy still

Well well, he was the best and still is. Because nobody has taken over since he left!
They win here and there but are not consistent!
      Let someone prove us wrong.
We want to see a string of wins like he did.

@jackiejay4556 Well, you have answered my question.
Gyms are not restricted. Secondly, he used the old fashioned tools and he made it happen!
They are using advanced tools but they don't produce the same amount as he did.
Give credit where it is deserved.
      He was like a mower.

    The Genius of Par:
It's all but impossible to explain to anyone unfamiliar with the game what genius we're looking at watching Tiger simply play Par golf once he has a lead, hole after hole after hole. To the uninitiated, it seems simple, yet how often have we all seen guys fall apart when "all" they have to do is play "safety golf." It's a lot harder than it sounds, isn't it? Without a single "amazing' shot in the entire last round, Tiger shows what it means to be a golf genius. Now THAT'S genius.

    • @Pulse2AM
      @Pulse2AM 4 года назад +1

What's hard about that is a lot of players need to play aggressively to score and stay focused, just aiming for the center of the green you can lose focus and not hit quality shots.

    • @CinemaDemocratica

I recently re-watched his final round at Liverpool in '06 (against Sergio, dressed as a lemon popsicle). There's a par five on the front nine -- I don't remember if it's number four or number five or number six, but anyway -- Tiger hit his three-wood off the tee to the most boring location you can imagine, hit his approach shot with a six iron to the most boring spot on the green, and sunk an almost tediously boring putt of about ten feet or so. ...FOR EAGLE. When I saw it live I remember thinking, "If this guy can put me to sleep making eagle, nobody's gonna see him for dust for a very long, long time."

This is probably the least well-known of all of Tiger's green jackets (1997 was him well and truly arriving on the scene; 2001 was him doing the grand slam if not all the same year, 2005 had THAT chip-in at 16 and 2019 was comeback fulfilled). Then again it's classic prime-era Tiger; just wearing all his challengers down and forcing them out of their comfort zone till they all made errors.

I do not care what anyone says about who the GOAT is, all you have to do is look at the body of work, sure all anyone wants to do if they are a Jack fan, is say oh, well the equipment is better, or if Jack played today..., Give me a break, the same for MJ, he would win in any era just like TW would have, all things equal, either way, same equipment whatever.

The media (including the announcers) love a narrative, and they jumped on the "best players in the world" crumbling under pressure. While that is somewhat true, they also mentioned multiple times that only one player in the entire field broke 70 in the final round (Shigeki Maruyama). So was it only the "chasers" that played poorly under pressure? Or was the course just playing really hard? Having said that I'm a huge Tiger fan and have been following him since his junior Am days.

Tiger was just putting the ball in the smart places. Nothing too spectacular. He was just making it easier by giving himself easier shots and less risk. Why couldn't the other guys do that. They were just falling apart missing all over the place. At this stage of his career Tiger just did the same safe shots over and over patiently executing and not getting too excited. A dominant time for him.

Here is the thing about golf, why it is so addictive: any idiot can go out there and hack and duff and putz around, but no matter what, they will have ONE shot that makes them stop and say, "Whoa, that was great! I want to do that again!" And for anybody who has ever played with any kind of regularity, you know, nothing in the world feels as cool as a perfectly hit golf ball. Nothing. It's just an incredible momentary feeling.

Its just so odd, they should all wear blinders to leaderboards or something. The Tiger effect was crazy back then. He is just playing like every smart shot while literally everyone single one of them fold under chances.

Honestly, I know there were reasons, but I really think Tiger wins half a dozen (if not more) additional majors, possibly even breaking Jack's record during his prime but certainly eventually, if he'd stayed with Butch. The fundamentals were just impeccable, every measurable stat was unparalleled, and no one can argue the results. The time/opportunities lost alone, changing his swing multiple times in his prime, in hindsight, could be a big regret of his down the road, being that it should've been a forgone conclusion Jack's record was going to be broken. Think his ego just wouldn't allow for anyone else, but predominantly him, to get fair credit for his success, especially early on. Then the competition got way better across the board, his body started breaking down from all the "extra curricular" activity (🤣) , and it tragically became more and more clear he wasn't going to do it. Which is a shame because talent-wise, he IS the best to ever do it. Just would've been nice to see history made!!

Phil never admits a match struggle even though it's obvious to all and indicated by results! HE is quite conceited! Everyone, incl the best player, Tiger Woods, do and admit to having had a struggle in a match, sometime in a humility! Humility, unlike self praise and conceit, is a strength PM, not a weakness, especially when you end up losing regularly! Congrats Tiger, humble respectful and absolutely lethally successful🌟👏💥🎉🥳

I like how the commentators keep talkin about how they can't believe the top 6 outta 7 players in the world can't score any better, but they cant figure out why. And they answered their own question on the 8th hole. They made a kinda difficult par 5 even longer, and not one professional golfer could make eagle in 4 days. Not one. I mean it's great to make a test for everyone, but as a fan, I knda like seeing an eagle every now and then. This way, they kinda made it like the par 3's and 4's. It's par or birdie, unless someone holes out their third shot. They lengthened a course that was fine how it was. It wasn't a simple course to start with. And they made it harder. Too difficult in my opinion.
