Swahili is a Bantu language, meaning anyone who speaks a Bantu language (which includes roughly everyone in Central, southern and parts of Eastern Africa) can learn the language very easily. All Bantu languages have similar vocabulary and most of all the grammar is the same. So if you are a Bantu speaker, learn Kiswahili
A lot of other African bantu languages were mainly oral before the Europeans came and started the writing system, so any one says Kiswahili is Arabic origin or tries to associate Kiswahili with Arabs is ignorant to the historical facts. Here is the question, when Africa becomes a center of economical power in the end of 21st and early 22nd century, what culture or language are we going to export or be proud of? We see now China has Mandarin, India has Hindi, America and Europeans have had their English and French, I really hope our regional leaders think about the importance of Kiswahili, not just for one particular country but for the continent as whole.
The best place you can learn standard Swahili is Tanzania. Go there and you will see how Tanzania speak it. They speak it as if they are singing. You will enjoy!!
Standard swahili is taught in schools but not on the streets. It's like saying the best place to learn English language is England which is absolutely rubbish.
Kiswahili should be the unique official language for all Africans people. A unique common langue among Africans will contribute in the unification of Africanism and create a significant bond within sub-Saharan regions. Consider it UA. Speaking fact and spiritually as I had this revelation days ago. In the near future, we may ought to forget not to say suppress the multitude of languages (ethnical languages) that are only used within communities in Africans country and which are meant to create a visible barriers between citizens of same nations. Take that ; DRC has more that 300 hundreds ethnical languages. And thee tribalism is dramatic...
I want to learn Swahili! I started it on Duolingo, but any other method requires payment and I don't have the money. Please could peopke give me some RUclips Swahili content creators? Not just ABOUT the language, but also IN the language: Swahili documentaries, Swahili politics, Swahili cooking, Swahili travelling,...?
But swahili is the least African language. It is 70 percent African and has a lot of arabic and european words. And also mixed with sheng which mess up swahili. swahili is spoken east Africa. Seens they want Africans to learn swahili, are they learning African languages like Sesotho , chewa, silozi , xhosa etc
Those are languages spoken by relatively few people. Swahili is close to other bantu languages, perhaps as roman languages are close to each other. Then all languages have incorporated words from other languages. Or would you prefer Africans will speak European languages instead of African languages ? Greetings from Belgium ❤
Umoja Ni Nguvu 🎉
I speak fluently Swahili , the actual coastal Swahili , from Dar es salaam Tanzania 🇹🇿. I’m thankful.
