I found that Pimsleur Swahili is an excellent way to learn to converse.
Africans everywhere need to learn This. Let’s make it our global language. Spread the word.
I'm not african and i don't speak Swahili but i really like the language. I think when it would be widespread over africa many people in europe and asia would learn it.
Why should North Africans need to learn Swahili? Stop using Black and African as synonyms.
Sarban Maybe he should say all bantu people should learn swahili.

Whoah ! This language is beautiful. It flows extremely well. I’m Gaelic Scottish and I’m not lying but this is one of the most simplistic languages to learn and pronounce and I really struggle trying to learn languages, especially trying to pronounce properly. Swahili is almost poetic, your mouth feel smooth and it rolls off the tongue very easy. It’s almost like it’s the perfect language designed for the human mouth. I’m glad my curiosity lead to me to look up the language. I’m now invested into learning. Africa has beautiful cultures that are vibrant. It’s weird how much I’m drawn to it and one of the languages. Amazing! Going to keep learning so I can communicate with my African Muslim brothers as I will be able to practice with them and they will tell me if I’m doing bad or doing good. Amazing language, Subhan’allah
Swahili is completely made up of syllables (m,n are exceptions). Syllables don't flow as nice letters. But I still Swahili.
Spelling is perfect.
It sound like a song!
Big deal. Compared to Gaelic almost everything must seem easy ...

I've been learning arabic for a few years and it's honestly so tiring with the formal to informal differences and the different dialects and vowels not being written out and sounds being difficult to pronounce as an English speaker. Swahili, however, looks as simple as Spanish with the easy pronunciation and spelling, and I'm loving it
Not once you realize that the grammar of every single word you use depends on which of the 12-13 ingelis (grammar groups) they belong to. A word like "glass" can belong to any group and requires no distinction. I've learnt it in school in kenya and everyone had trouble with it. Not to disappoint you though. Anyone who had seen tougher languages might find it simple.

I really want to learn Swahili more than ever before, now that 15 more countries in Africa have adopted Swahili as their language. I think it's very important for black people in the diaspora and and Africa to have a common language besides the one you already know. It makes you more valuable around the world if you were to come to America you would have to learn Spanish to work at some companies, could you imagine being born and raised in a English speaking country but you can't work certain jobs because you can't speak Spanish. That gave Spanish people priority when hiring which is a good thing for their people if black people around the world learn one common language you can use that to empower your people when it comes to hiring practices. That's if Africa become successful in its quest to be one powerful country not a bunch of countries in one continent.
Thank you for sharing these lessons. It's my first day here learning with you guys. I am african just like all black people on this planet.
