  • Hey guys, it’s Liam again! In this video, I’m basically describing how I made the Rock-afire Explosion from homemade materials that I found around the house. There will be another video showing the process of how I make one of my characters. This may include a possible creation of the Uncle Klunk that may happen in the next few weeks. I am just in California right now on vacation so I will not be able to make that video until I am back of course, but in this video, I basically explain how all the different features work lights curtains. And so on basically explaining how I built the stage what materials are used and how long it took I will be working on the new Rock-afire Explosion as well as another upcoming project. I am very happy with the progress. I’ve made so far on it so there will be more videos posted on that. Anyway, enjoy the video.

You could probably use a few servos to turn the characters into actual animatronics, even though at this state, it would be nearly impossible to modify them into full animatronics with all movements, you could do maybe have 4 servos on each character to at least have them do some movement along to songs, all characters would have 2 of their servos be used for head turn, mouth open, and the two remaining servos would be different for each character, like for Billy Bob and Beach Bear, it'd be guitar strum, and left hand slide on the guitar neck, for Dook and Fatz, it'd be lowering each arm so they can look like they're playing the drums/piano, for Mitzi it'd be raising each arm so she can do very basic "dances", and for Rolfe it'd be raising his right arm and Earl's mouth, you can also have 4 more extra servos so you can move Sun and Moon's mouths, Looney Bird's head rotation, and mouth open, it'd be great to see them all move around.
To power the servos I'd use an ESP32 board, a 16 channel servo driver, and a power supply (maybe 5v 6 amp depending on what you want to do), then use Bottango to animate the characters along to the songs, it's easier than it sounds really.

@@RustyArtJourney If you make a video showing everyone moving, have them sing "Welcome in" that would be excellent.

@@BobCholo0that would be awesome, I wonder, how the rock-afire explosion would look if it was just made out of things bought from eBay and teemu and cheap Chinese products and parts
