I recommend the hx365 over the hx370 model. The power limits clip the performance of both the 880m and especially the 890m GPUs so you might as well buy the cheaper one which often performs just as well since many games are power limited (not CU limited).

Solid review as always. But I have to completely disagree with the fan noise comparison to the 16 GB4P or Edge. With the S16, the fans were running even while only watching a YT video, super annoying. With GB4P, the only time I heard the fans was when pushing it hard like when running Cinebench 2024 multi core... Also the screen brightness on the S16 is lacking for someone who prefers the dark mode. I was often reaching to increase the brightness thinking that it wasn't at max.... the Achilles heel on the GB4P or GB4E is that rediculous trackpad, otherwise it would provide a much more enjoyable user experience.

@@SenselInc there is a natural give on my older mac pro instead of no give at all.
Yes the top part does not give on a traditional real analog pad, but i use the whole pad to move or drag the cursor. and the bottom half for the real click or double click. with a natural logical pressure give release click rebound.
      And a real actual sound.
Haptic is a digital fake, there is no give or rebound just vibration motors imitating it, so your finger is more stressed pressing against a hard surface..
...having said that, im just talking about a good mac traditional pad, vs a good mac haptic pad, not bad ones...i do prefer the larger Size of the newer pads though.
And Asus calculator and rotary dial as well.
Both can be executed, in a bad or good way.
Software optimization and quality parts plays a big role in the actual execution and ease of use.
Neither is actually always better or worse than the other IMHO.

Battery life won't matter if the standby sucks. No one in their right mind sits on their laptop for 15-20 hours straight. I wanna know what happens when I close the lid and open the laptop the next day. If it drains the entire battery, I bet people will prefer ARM laptops more.

exactly , I bought a macbook primarily for the battery , I have used all kind of operating systems and i could care less as long as the apps i need work and i could multitask . the biggest problem, i had with my last laptop is that half the battery went over night. and that kills the battery even faster. I do think apple way over prices their products but just the feeling of opening the laptop 2 days later and it still has the same percentage is worth it for me now . if arm develops enough in windows ill probably sell my mac as i think i could get a more powerful machine for the same price. but for now I am willing to spend that much not for the speakers the track pad or anything just for the battery and power.

I have been waiting for this review! I've had the Huawei Matebook X Pro 2018 since it came out and it's gotten so slow. I've been following reviews for the Zenbook S 16 and it's currently my main contender for a new laptop. incredibly good performance and battery relative to the size and weight. I never thought I'd consider a 16 inch laptop, but this is thinner and weighs the same as my current one so why not get a bigger screen.

2:11 Speaking of the LG Gram, I've never understood how they could consistently inflate the pricing every year despite the flimsy nature of the laptop. I get that its weight is its selling point, but when other companies make lighter laptops that feel sturdier AND have better screens, it becomes a pointless product. And poor gpu integrated performance .
Lack of touch and oled options.
      Could have better speakers.
I think many of those traits will be addressed aside from cheap feel if they wanted to retain among the lightest.
Although a premium metalceramic build would be great.
Also anyine that allows ram.uografes would instantly sell well and its van be done sodered plus ram in the motherboard is possible.
The system would first use sikdered armband then instead if going ti slow ssds for scratch it would go ti fast ram chips like always first just ask fast as them soldered ram but with more latency by a tiny amount because of distance.
.thus could allow base memory up to 64gb plus two slots of 48gb each.

I'm amaized that this laptop doesn't have a numpad. To me, this places this laptop immediately in the private/home market or graphics/content creation market, but absolutely not in the professional market. Anything financial or management related, or for that matter engineering/technical related, a numpad is pretty much a must. I also find it strange that there is no mention of that in this video. Everything is highlighted, exept that, and there are even comparisons made to a samsung laptop and a LG gram laptop, where the biggest difference is....they have a numpad! No mention at all!
So this is a laptop that aims at the macbook market. Those are also rarely seen in the professional financial or engineering market.

Lunar Lake is for thin and light laptops, basically the 13-14" ones. When you go to 16", even if you don't have discrete GPU, you can then have more performance (without overheating and all that jazz). Remember that Lunar Lake has only 4+4 cores and 8 (eight) threads. A Sandy Bridge i7 from 2012 (12 years ago) also had 8 threads.
Now don't get me wrong, Lunar Lake, if we were to beleieve Intel's claims, will perform very well. But it's still very well for an 8 core chip. Ryzen CRINGE 9 HX 370 does have 12 cores at the end of the day, so it will be clearly better on heavy duty apps/scenarios.

Hi! I'm looking for a laptop for studying computer science. I prefer a lightweight, portable model without a dedicated GPU, as I'll primarily be using it at university. And also I would appreciate a good keyboard and high-quality screen.
I've identified four laptops that stand out within my budget. Assuming they are all on sale in my country and prices are all the same ,which one is the best choice?
    1- Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 (14' ) with Ryzen 8840HS, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 60 Hz WUXGA OLED Display
    2- Huawei Matebook 14 with Ultra 7 155H, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 120 Hz 2.8K OLED Display
3- ASUS Zenbook 14 with Ultra 7 155H, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 60 Hz WUXGA OLED Display
4- ASUS Vivobook S15 with Ryzen 8845HS, 32 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 120 Hz 2.8K OLED Display

So Since this video Asus has decreased the maximum wattage from 33w to 28w because of thermal issues. I have ran both geekbench and Cinebench with the new 28w cpu and there is no difference, which is great and surprising. Perhaps there have been other updates since this video which has made the laptop more performant which is why there is no difference in my scores.

Does anyone know how does it compare to the AMD Ryzen HX 370? Probably it will have a better battery life but how about the performance and the heating problem? Please let me know if you have any info about it, so far i couldn't find a comparison (comparision of this the same laptop but with different chips) video or info online.

While this is a great review - the only important part is 4:02 where she says she has to take breaks from using it due to how hot it gets. This renders the device useless. A laptop this thin is specifically built for portability and using it on the go - you shouldn't need a laptop cooler or riser to be able to comfortably use it. Which means you can only use it comfortable at home with an external keyboard at which point you might as well get a fully stacked lenovo with a mid to full wattage 4070 for the same or less money.

This laptop is absolutely great (weight, dimensions, screen, performance, noise, battery life). The only thing I don't like, in particular when comparing to a MB Air, is that it tends to get hot. It's not a problem when using it on a desk. But, when used on the laps, it's not very comfortable.

Using my Asus S16 hx365 24/7 on the road this week. ASTONISHING COMPUTER. Best screen ever. Best laptop speakers ever. Best battery life ever. The last time i was this happy with a computer was when I purchased a Macintosh II in 1987 with AppleColor monitor and 80MB disk ... Only downside is that CHARGING warms the laptop more than computing on battery! The 28/34w power limit gimps the hx370/890m so i got the lower spec hx365/880m CPU which matches the 890m in several games that are power linited ..

I own one of these as well as a Yoga Slim 7x. I'm probably going to return the S 16. I actually use my laptop on my lap and the Zenbook runs hot even in "whisper mode." The performance in that mode is decent, but not as good as the 7x. If you put it on any higher mode, it's too hot to use on your lap. The display is nowhere near as good as the 7x. It's not as sharp because the resolution is spread over a larger area, and it's significantly less bright which is a problem in well-lit rooms. It also is slightly grainy which is noticeable with white backgrounds. That said, I actually prefer the keyboard on the S16. The Slim 7x keyboard is really springy which causes me to make a lot of typing mistakes. However, it's possible that I just prefer low travel laptop keyboards. Lastly, I wish Asus would have made this laptop with a little less sharpness in the edges. If you rest your wrists when u type, you'll definitely feel the edge.
Absent compatibility issues, which aren't super common, or gaming, I think Windows on ARM is the future for Windows thin and lights. At least I hope it is.

I'm curious why you would take the Air over this. Is it the abundant ports or the fabulous 60 htz lower resoution display lcd with touch. Maybe it's the amazing speakers. Or the lower amount of ram available. Perhaps it's the higher multicore scores or abundant gaming capabilities. Could it be the larger screen at a lighter weight. Must be its 5 percent better single core on geekbench. Or maybe its higher price for equivalent specs makes you feel superior to those around you. Definitely buy the Air. Remember it's Apple. Remember the Air has a warmer keyboard based on your test.
