MegaMan X4 - Zero vs Sigma (NO DAMAGE)

- Here's another run at the final boss sequence of X4 with Zero, this time using the "dash cancel" technique to take down that head a little faster. Made a couple minor mistakes with my attacks, but no damage was received during the entire battle.

Is there any way you can effectively dodge the debris attack while doing damage to his head or you really have to wait till he does the wind attack?
@@BowserandLover1 I have seen others use the dash cancel technique to slash rapidly enough at the head to destroy all of the debris, while doing massive damage to the head, but I've never been able to get the timing down reliably. I always get hit by at least one piece, which causes me to get hit by several more, heh.

The head-form of Sigma didn't spew out trash at him once. That's the part I always have trouble with as Zero.

I think it's a technique. If you stay away from him, as you see he did, he won't spit trash.

If he does the trash attack it's quite simple. Stand in the middle where Zero is in the video. The blue head should block you from being sucked in. Destroy the blue head with the fire attack and then go directly in front of Sigma and SDC him. You should be able to destroy a majority of the trash with the exception being the ones he throws into the air.
I finally beat this game after almost 20 years!! Feels good
For those asking for the boomerang, it only happens if the scythe lands on the ground.

@@bestintheworld0624 I actually won the fight avoiding boomerangs, found a pattern, but holy shi... I had a hard time. Didn't know Sigma throws the scythe at you but now I feel good I managed the fight even dealing with the most difficult part :D
Yeah it took me awhile to figure out that the best way to deal with Sigma's second form is to bait Him into throwing His scythe/hammer into the wall instead of the ground
Why when we touch enemy we get hurt, but the enemy doesnt?

Probably because of Bowser's spikes hurting you in Super Mario Bros. when you touch him. In fact, Pac-Man before that! It was a good game mechanic to keep them challenging and was adapted into many other series.
That’s why Freedom Planet is great. No touch damage, and enemies actually have tells.

After watching this, I feel confident I can finally beat the final form Sigma. I was so upset many years ago because I was so close to finishing the game as Zero but I died so many times.

impressive.. I had a little bit of trouble with some megaman final bosses when I was younger (and using a keyboard), but now that I'm older I'm finding it so much easier. These mechanics are on another level though lol

I must digress, I had trouble with the final boss for almost a year now and after seeing this video, I just realized if you are able to this then so can I! I won't give up and I will finally defeat Sigma! Thanks for posting this I got a lot of practice to do.

i do love how they made final sigma on here though. each part has its own energy meter. and this is by far the best and toughest form of sigma i have fought. he was a beast over a decade ago. and both songs of sigma's rocked.

@deathscross7777 If you don't want to get hit, use the Rakuhouha when he does the "garbage throwing" attack. You will turn invincible for the duration of your Giga Attack and not get hit by the debris.

is there a trick to making sigma use the whirlwind instead of the suction in the third battle
Anyone else realize after the cloaked form the scythe spins the opposite way it impacts the ground. Sigma is facing right, the scythe spins clockwise, but the blade impacts on the left side which is impossible. Just an observation.
Even though zero is my favorite, I like keeping my distance away from enemies. But sometimes i like using zero on enemies that movie around a lot.

Attack attack dash, in rapid succession. Tapping the dash button after the second slash cancels the combo, allowing you to repeat the first and second slashes rapidly without the third slash triggering enemy invincibility frames. I did a little better with it in the 2019 video, but I'm still not that good at it compared to others I've seen. Definitely useful at times, though.
I've seen people use it to destroy the debris during the spitting attack (which did not occur in this older video), but I've never been good enough at it to reliably block everything without taking a hit now and then. I typically hide in a corner until it ends, heh.
I really do hope they add this to the PS one classics on the Playstation Network store. Cuz I sure will be buying it.
There's Slide Slashing in 1:21. I wish Mega Man X Dive will implement Slide Slashing instead of roll slashing while sliding on the wall and using a Melee Weapons like Standard Saber.

Ryan Jones Oh, that's Zero "infinite" combo. You keep pressing the attack button over and over while dash cancelling mid combo. That way Zero keeps doing the first and second strike over and over again, rather than finishing the combo, with devastating results.

Slash beasts slash ability is for sigma.... I thought it was useless since ot doesnt seem to hurt other bosses
Along with raijingeki it's one of magma dragoon's weaknesses
For the sigma with pistol you have to stay close of the red head and jump and attack

This is six years ago. You probably know more tricks by now, or have deleted the game, but I'll comment anyway (in case there are those new to this game):
1. Have you tried this with his first form: standing in the middle, waiting for him to show up, then use timing to quickly fire him up and dash to the corner behind him? His scythe wouldn't reach there.
2. I would use Split Mushroom's skills on Sigma's robot form if I were you.
3. Is there a newer version by you for this video?
Well, its best competition is "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!?" So that's not saying much. XD

but at the 2nd match(after the flying sigma), you can kill him faster with dash attack spamming like u did to big head sigma XD, great job anyway
Fighting against all 8 bosses from before, THEN fighting against 3 final boss phases AND the final boss phase is even 2 against 1. WHY.
Because that’s any Megaman game. You have the boss rush, then Sigma phase 1, Phase 2, and sometimes even a phase 3. X8 is the only time Sigma doesn’t have a second form, unless you want to count Copy Sigma as the first form, which I don’t because it isn’t really him. The final level in X8 is its own level of bullshit difficulty though. Basically 4 fights with no health refills.
@@InfernalBanana i just wished they handled it like Megaman X 1 and 2, have the boss rush separated from the final boss.
Toni Ton I see what you mean. Yeah, it can be annoying to have to refight the Mavericks each time you need to farm your E-Tanks. At least they’re all kind of pushovers in X4 when you know the weaknesses.

B r a n d o n Sigma doesn't throw his boomerangs if his scythe is stuck in the wall. The trash spew seems to only be used if you're close to the head when it appears.
Diogo Luiz Barcellos Volpi I finally beat him and I noticed that about the boomerags ahaha. Trash spew I just spammed the special where you shoot projectiles and hoped for the best. It worked XD

tenia entendido que la saga de zero era muchos siglos despues de la saga X por que el final real del X5 se supone en el que zero muere pero x se que con su sable lo que tres años despues sale la saga x6 y aunque lo que dices podria ser distintas historias alternas ya que en el megaman zero se ve a un zero resusitado quien sabe si del final donde x perdio toda la memoria de zero el x5 se presta para varias continuaciones o tambien en el x6 donde sero duerme en una capsula criogenica por 120 años
reaper sigma is the easiest sigma in all the x games in my book. u can pummel him without takin damage and this video just proved that even though i been doing that for over 10 years.
