For all watching, in the book with the girls parents, Kristoffs origin is lightly touched on. On their first trip to see the trolls, the parents witness a young ice harvester woman asking them for help. She recently lost her husband in an accident and cant bear his death, so she asks them to remove her memories of him. She was pregnant at the time, and the baby is implied to be Kristoff. It not only makes him three years older then Elsa, but means the trolls knew his backstory. I recommend you read the book, it's really good.

I kinda tuned out once at 4:03 when he said the people trapped in the Enchanted Forest didn't age. Not only are the remaining Arendelle guards visibly older, but Mattias clearly states they are. Ryder even says some of the Northuldra (like him) were born in the forest and had never seen the sky.
Also, I wouldn't exactly call Kristoff's "big nose" a Northuldran trait... Iduna and many of the others have slender, even aquiline noses. And if we're comparing men's noses, Ryder has a snub nose, which is nothing like Kristoff's. The Northuldra also have higher cheekbones and more almond shaped eyes. I get that the Northuldra are working with a shallower gene pool after 30+ years in the mist, but those features would probably be present in Kristoff if he was one of them.

An additional potential part of this story is that Kristof is blond; a trait more associated with the Arendale inspired culture, not that of the native reindeer herders. So perhaps his parents were of both, and his father either died on the outside after the fog, or got stuck on the other side, or even killed in the first clash of the conflict. Thus leaving his mother alone and to go near mad with grief, enough to seek out a near forgotten tribe of trolls, and she gets her memory altered. Memories lost or not, society may not have treated a half breed and his mother well when tensions were potentially already high before the fog, then a ton of people just disappear behind magic fog? Not good. Kristof canonically becomes a full orphan early, we don’t know how or when, but late enough in life to be shown the basics of ice harvesting, and to form a bond with a baby reindeer......but no one on this side of the fog wants to deal with him, and clearly just ignore him and work around him. Just why when the citizens we see later are so friendly......to each other. Yet as soon as different is introduced via Elsa’s out of control ice powers, they seem to veer away from her pretty fast. Only a few (foreigners)are openly hostile, but only Anna is defending her sister. Kristof is treated similarly. Not exactly hostel to him, but clearly not welcoming. Why? Because he isn’t fully one of them!

So I have a little different theory. While I do think Kristoff is part of the Sami people, we can't ignore that everyone inside the mist has brown hair and dark eyes not to mention the color of their clothing being white. While the clothing can be explained away by the fact Kristoff has lived outside the mist so probably took on the colors of the outside world, I think he might be from a different tribe of Sami Or or of similar half Sami and half not like Anna and Elsa (meaning that his mother would be not Sami if she was also Blond if from the same tribe as those of the mist). I lean much more to him being of a different tribe who might of traveled with his family to see their tribal brothern and maybe his mother was from a different tribe and they were traveling back to his father's tribe only to have his father pass away and his mother locked out from the mist. I know its complex, but I think it would explain why he has a very different look to the others.

If the mist settled around the time Kristoff was born (although it sounds like it was shortly afterward), it would mean he was at least 12 years older than Anna? I think that it might be possible that Kristoff’s family wasn’t locked out, but only he and Sven, cause Kristoff might’ve been helping to herd the reindeer but Sven got out of the herd? of reindeer so Kristoff was chasing Sven to get him back into the group.
It might also been possible that during this time, the battle had been going on, but he and his family didn’t know about it, so they were going about their day as usual.
Following this theory, Kristoff could’ve ran past the boundary of the mist and got lost chasing Sven. It’s possible that he didn’t know how to get back, so he just found people and civilization to keep him from getting lost again without help close by.
So after a while, he would’ve figured out that the ice breakers were the ones that go farthest from Arendelle to get ice, so he follows them and tries to help them so he could go to try and find Northuldra, but he couldn’t, so he stayed with the ice men.
When Iduana and Augnrr were taking Anna to be cured by Pabbie, it’s likely that Kristoff thought that the ice trail was leading him to Northuldra, so he followed it with Sven, and met the trolls, who took him in.
Afterwards, things chronologically matches up and frozen happens.
    Then frozen two.
Eventually we’ll find out I guess
And if you’ve got to this point without leaving, kudos to you!🎉

  • @ethenallen1388
    @ethenallen1388 Год назад +19

First of all, the place where the trolls lived was call The Valley of Living Stone.
Kristoph looked to be about eight years old, the same as Elsa, when the trolls took him in, but Agnarr and Idunna's first visit the trolls happened a month or so before she proposed to him, yes it was Idunna who made the marriage proposal and she enlisted the help of a couple of reindeer, plus an additional six more months before their wedding, and another three years before Elsa had been born, so the child the women Agnarr and Idunna saw talking to the trolls was carrying could not have been Kristoph. Furthermore, Agnarr told Idunna that she was from a tribe of ice harvesters who were similar to the Northuldra, but not considered Northuldra by Arendell to whom they sold their ice.
I think that there were numerous similar tribes in those regions, some lived in the Enchanted Forest year-round, some followed the reindeer migrations, and some harvested and sold ice to the wealthier kingdoms, and used horses since it would be easier to put crampons on horses' hooves than reindeer. The merchants who wanted to buy reindeer and ice ignored the relation the latter two groups had with those who lived in the Forest for the sake of doing business.
I think that Kristoph's father died in a similar accident to the one that killed the husband of the women Agnarr and Idunna saw talking with the trolls, just several years apart. These were the days before OSHA after all. The Spirit of Attahalla felt that Elsa and Anna would need some help, so it sent Sven to Kristoph after his parents died, then nudged them towards the trolls so they could teach him to be sensitive and get him used to interacting with magical beings.

The mist happened too long ago for Kristoff to be a product of the protection shield in my opinion, I know the trolls are cute but we have to remember Disney does their research and the legends of those trolls involve them taking children especially ones with blonde hair. Not an unusual thing to happen for the time period but a very unusual thing to happen in a Disney movie. If Kristoff's parents were kids, teens, or pre-teens when the mist fell, that would make sense and that's what I always thought. If you had watched Frozen 2 you would know that the Northuldra never had magic, they just got along with the magical spirits who inhabited the Enchanted Forest.

Something mysterious might've happened to his father but I'm assuming his mother died from childbirth

Could frozen 3 have this as a plot since Kristoff is an orphan with no recollection of his past.

Well there's a potentially planned 3rd movie, so maybe they'll discuss it then.

It could be that Chris his mother died during child-birth, with the trolls taking him in as their own.

But why is he the only blond “Sami” then? He looks nothing like them. Besides, he’s a third wheel, an “extra”. The movies and shorts all center on the sisters and their world. He’s really just there for Anna to marry eventually.

No, his official age during the main events of the first Frozen movie was twenty-one, the same as Elsa.

Didn't make sense Anna and elsa 's grandad do this and there dad younge kid at time so this doesn't make sense unless he way way older than Anna could be family grandparents in there at time but unlikely
