Keep the videos coming! thank you so much, helping me learn about all the products to use on my upcoming build.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing this.
Matt, love that your adding links to products your showing off, helps me from asking questions I can easily research, was wondering if this would work on ICF's but it will not, looking forward to next weeks video.
+Johnintoit for ICF the PolyWall guys have a solution. Check their site
For ICF, check out this product poly-wall.com/waterproofing-system/home-stretch-icf-waterproofing-membrane/
I love this video. I really want to try that on my basements. I wonder if it works for slabs?
I used a similar product called red guard in bathrooms. No failures yet but a small sample size. Delta membrane and waterproofing seems perfect. Even if the wall cracks and the proofing splits, the exterior membrane will direct the water down.
bathrooms start out pretty smooth,...did you see the voids in the walls..not sure if he's just trying to sell something..or ? They are not putting this stuff on near as thick as bitumen...or asphalt.. Those holes would be so completely plugged w/tar ....nothing get's through.
In wet areas you could build the basement walls from pressure treated plywood and various outside water barriers. Then, pour the concrete walls a few inches away from the frame walls with a footer that has a drain built in which feeds into a sump pump. The space between the two walls could even be dehumidified to prevent mold. There would be a cap on top to keep out water from above. Double wall framing systems aren't uncommon, this is just another variation of that for below the surface.
Just after the 2nd world war the lumber industry built some houses with basement using pressure treated wood and I understand that these walls have stood the test of time.
will this work well in a tropical environment? with the salty air, consistent rain, and very hot and humid? This is the first i'm hearing of this. Thanks for the video.
Hi Matt love the videos just wondering if you have any experience of sip basement construction and would this product be suitable for it?
Thanks!
This is a good technology!
Where's the second video I this series and why doesn't RUclips automatically go to it first? Please put link to video #2 in the description.
We are building a below grade foundation/basement. Looking at Waterproofing options we have considered a fluid applied rubber membrane but our foundation is very wet in the Pacific Northwest wondering about a torch on SBS membrane with dimple board over top --what are your thoughts
I've seen tar-based liquid waterproofing - what's the difference between them? Like T Walz asked below, How does it handle settling and cracks? That's the real test.
Is this a Product that has to be applied to a Fully Cured concrete surface, if not what,if any are the possibilities of issues?
Would you recommend this product for a crawl space? or would it be over kill? Raleigh, NC with only 2 feet or so below grade.
Simple question. Is polywall making the best Fluid applied waterproofing systems out there?
perfect timing my basement is leaking and I have to dig it up going to do it myself
Me too! I found amazing french drain products from Baughman Tile for my french drains best stuff I could find! www.baughmantile.com/products/single-wall-pipe/
Brian would be a great poker player.
id go with Grace waterproofing
Hi I’ll like to know the name of the water proof product and the equipment you guys used we start doing a lot foundations and we start to water proof them
fucking awesome video quality, I like being able to watch youtube videos in hd.
People don't realize how important it is to keep your basement dry and what it takes to make that happen. Concrete is porous and needs to be sealed properly. You can then utilize the space for comfortable living or dry storage.
+Jameson Cross amen
I assume the top is painted grey to match the concrete?
what about under the slab waterproofing
Great system. This appears to be a dry climate where flash flooding could occur. I build in the Northwest where water is a guarantee
+john smith this system would work equally well either place
What happens with this product when we get settling cracks? I would imagine that it would break the continuous burrier? Just looking to see if this has been thought about and if so is that an issue?
I would assume since it is 60 mil, the foundation would crack and the rubber would stretch (in extreme cracks it would probably tear tho). But you have the Arryo keeping the water away, so you should have less cracking than an unprotected foundation I would think.
barriers like this have the ability to stretch.
Have you tried MasterLife 300D?
I have seen this done on exterior wall board ....it blister and peeled. May of been lack of prep to me it failed
why don't you use repair mortar to fill sinks in class R1 concrete?
Can this be used on icf???.
can you use it on a roof
What is the life span of this product?
Which machine sprays that?
How is the sprayer cleaned. What is used to clean the gun, hose and compressor?
The sprayer price is $7000
Any update product like this
Your applicators should be painters. If it's going to be back rolled anyway you might as well get an 18inch roller and sleeve. Better yet go up to the rollers that are fed by your sprayer. Could easy do that whole foundation on my own in 3 hours. I would also bet that stuff isn't thicker than an elastomeric and conventional guns spray that. Actually I bet it is an elastomeric
1:43 So why not just use polyurea spray coating (like line-x) instead?
Line X is super expensive and would cost a fortune
I'm not a fan of the toxicity of these types of products, just looking at the SDS. I wonder what natural or less-toxic alternatives there are?
Hi,I want to take training with you Plz help me
Functionally, how would this be different from the Prosoco product?
+Nicholas Stalker that's strictly an above grade rated product at this time. The chemistry is different. That being said I'll bet it would work well though I'm not going to risk a basement to that try-out
where does the insulation go? The "perfect wall" would have it on the outside in a northern climate, right?
+R Montena yes indeed
should be both sides
is this for the interior face of the wall? not for the exterior face?
?
I've seen some houses with basement been builded the basement so a protection coat is applied in the outside face of the wall and another product applied on the inside face of the wall (the living space).
Soy question was if this can be use on a existing house from the inside
This is for the exterior face.
This product is designed specifically for waterproofing the exterior of foundation walls there are other products you can use that are designed for interior waterproofing, but keep in mind if you have a water problem in the basement you can't fix it by only applying waterproofing from the inside.
similar to Rub-R-Wall
I think Rub-R-Wall goes on thicker. This product almost looks like paint.
Yeah just a rubberized coating that they're spraying on the wall. if you were to do that on a block foundation you're basically creating a boat and the pressure is going to go somewhere. It'll just create a buckling and Boeing wall. Or the water will create pressure underneath the slab and you'll start to get cracking...
Matt May I suggest looking up Dave with Ecospect basement waterproofing and I think he has a top notch system and approach to all water proofing issues. A much higher step above French drains and anything run outside the walls or partner to coating the outside walls. Water has to go somewhere and draining it at the bottom of the footer is best
ruclips.net/video/FTIZSJKpXas/видео.html
The dimple board is what allows the water to drain to footing, and also keeps the dirt off of the walls.
