@Manoj Kumar Not really They share a fighting style in general but they use different variations of it The only similarities they have are air throws, ground throws, chain throws, a running 2+4 move and a Jaguar mask.
Not just that either as a newcomer i dont understand stand those notations for this game so this vid helps me at least no his inputs thx soul you great person lookin out for newcomers as well
0:12 I couldn't land flickers after the dash b+3+4 part, so I discovered that if you use 3+4, f , f+2, 1 you can actually deal the same damage and potentially even more damage, because it throws them very far away and it can wall. Also works in the other normal combos as well.
What matters is how quickly you 1,d+1 after b3+4(FKR). Try 1,d+1 as SOON as you feel contact with the 3+4 from entering FKR. That tends to work for me.
I love this video, not only is it super informative, it's also really cool to watch. I find myself coming back every once in a while to it just for the hype.
1:50 I find it easier to instead of dashing after the screw use albatros-forward into peekaboo and then do PKB f2,1 ; this way you avoid having to awkwardly cancel the dash with some input to be able to do manual peekaboo
It works, but you have to be careful how and where you end up the combo. If you carry the opponent to the wall, it is not very convenient to finish that combo with PKB f2,1 , because it will take time to recover frames to finish the combo with a proper wall combo ender. More experienced Steve mains often break the combo's execution if they approach the wall, ending it with a proper wall combo ender.
Trying to learn Steve and I'm having trouble with that move. Hold F3,2 Screw Dash PKB F2,1. I'm trying to cancel it with DB to dash but I'm not getting the timing.
Dashing in to get the finnisher blow to hit in the end of a combo, like a sonic fang or a ff~2 is so unconsistent to me, I dont know what I am doing wrong Amazing combos btw
The combo samples in Tekken 7 for Steve are more than enough to get you started. These combos require some execution and are somewhat more difficult to perform.
Hwoarang is three times cheaper and easier than steve, he has pressure and decent frame, in flamingo stance he can spam and still got +14 on his side. On the other side if you block a low from his Flamingo s hes -20. Steve needs timing and really good knowledge since he cant use 3 and 4, plus if you're repetitive with steve it's over... you re going to get parried from 3/4 of the roaster.
If u want to master steve execution on controller(i.e xbox and PS layout) use LB as 3+4 , RB as 1+2 and LT or RT as 2+3 This is useful for fast ducts in combos and other execution. U can also easily go into flkr or pekbo anytime during combos or in pressure. Lets say a combo for crouching df2. After df2 u go f2 1 into flickr(hold back to go into flckr) . Now use F 2+3(i.e LB)this will give you the fast duct and buffer F and immediately use 2. So u get F2 1 fckr duct F2(this gives u more frame). This method is extremely fast and is optimal for combos especially for controllers. I m posting this because when i started playing steve i had no idea how some people do that fast duct into f2 and my thumb got swollen from trying.
im new to tekken and its my first ever fighting game, steve is the guy that attracted me instantly but now that i see how difficult he is and all these stances, im quite intimidated :( still would love to get good at him one day though
@Larry Leonard I'm actually pretty curious, how do you even START? Like do I start by learning the simple combos first or? I'm determined to get better as him!
First combo in this video is so hard (the spin flk) and not even worth the practice, do this instead Launch duck1, df121, flk 1 then flk 1d1 then run for sonic fang. Effortless 69 damage. If you manage to get an extended duck, its a whopping easy 72 damage! (1 less damage than the hardest and most damaging combo from neutral he can land)
You can control the distance more with Flk 11 ALB 2, its definitely worth learning, for me its easier to do dash b11 ALB 2. The reason its good to learn is that you can control the distance by not completing the final 2 when you are close to the wall, giving it the ability to be a mid and long range combo cuz sometimes the wall will be too close to do ALB 2 so you just end by only pressing 3+4 and it will leave you face to face with the opponent after they wall splat. Running up and doing sonic fang doesn't offer the same amount of control. They are both good to know though cuz running up and doing sonic fang is preferable if you gauge the distance well cuz its much easier. So yah the answer is do both, its what I do.
@@reverse9822 there is no trick unfortunately, you just have to be fast af, it requires a lot of practice. Run up to the opponent after screw but not all the way up, you have more space then you probably think. Run up very fast and practice pressing back and going into flk and pressing 11 ALB 2 as fast as possible, its hard for sure, especially on b1 ext dck 1 combo. I just did it in practice mode and I haven't played steve since this comment so its definitely still doable. I think doing b11 is easier so you can also do that, but I feel like flk 11 offers more control. Practice just running up and connecting flk 11, once you know the exact distance then just grind it in, Steve is one of the hardest characters in the game for a reason, wait till you try to master shiro combo lol. With enough practice it will become second nature so just keep at it.
@@reverse9822 no problem my friend, when you go to learn shiro combo hit me up again cuz that will take WAY more practice and time and I can probably help a little. I play only high execution characters and Steve is one of the very hardest. A good way to practice combos ending with flk 11 ALB 2 is to practice doing it from ch df 121 combo, thats probably the easiest one to land it off of, after that just practice trying it at the end of different combos, also if you do just dck 1 instead of ext dck 1 it makes it easier to land after ch b1 combo.
