This is RM's song, but Wale wrote on it as well. They worked together on it. And this song was released in 2017. AND Wale was shouting out BTS ARMY, the fanbase is called ARMY. Yes, the members are serving their mandatory military service right now, but they will be back as BTS in June 2025. ARMY's will wait for them and it will be an EPIC comeback.
Ohhhhhhh....Nas has been a huge inspiration for RM since he was a teen! Good call. BTS actually has a track called Hiphop Phile/Lover (ruclips.net/video/34lVzeQm88s/видео.htmlsi=YHOSNax6fpBQxpbp) where they pay homage - shout out their inspirations, but there's an early vlog of RM (maybe even pre-debut like 2013) where he started rapping a Nas verse and hoping someday he could rap freestyle just as easily. 💜
RM is very versatile. He's put out 2 mixtapes (RM - 2015, MONO - 2018) and 2 albums (INDIGO - 2022, Right Place Wrong Person - 2024) His music is very deep and very introspective. I linked 3 music videos from his most recent album RPWP, and his Tiny Desk from 2022, that has a song from his mixtape MONO, and two songs from his album INDIGO. Please react. Thanks. RM has released numerous solo projects over the years, in addition to the work he does with BTS. He is the group leader and main rapper (there are three rappers in the group), and all the members have solo projects. RM's solo work - 2 mixtapes (RM - 2015, MONO - 2018), and 2 solo albums (INDIGO - 2022, Right Place, Wrong Person - 2024) I linked you three songs from his most recent album - RPWP, and a Tiny Desk with a song from his second mixtape MONO, and his first solo album INDIGO. *Please react to these, and make sure to turn on your closed captions* RM 'Domodachi (feat. For those new to RM: RM is a South Korean rapper born 1994 (30 years old) and he's currently doing his mandatory military service and will be back in June 2025. RM started his military service in December 2023 so everything that has come out after Dec 2023 he recorded before he enlisted and just released after. RM's latest album, released in May 2024, a few months after he left, is called *'Right Place, Wrong Person'.* If you wanna check out more from RM he released MV's to the songs 'Nuts', 'Domodachi' (feat. Little Simz), 'Groin', 'Lost' and 'Come back to me' off his latest album. The whole album is great and worth a listen. Moses Sumney is also a feature on one track. The album was recognized as one of the best albums of the first half of the year 2024 by Rolling Stone, Billboard, The Associated Press, and NME. Billboard wrote _"RM simply refuses to acknowledge the existence of any such boundaries over these 34 minutes, with 11 songs that careen from hip-hop to jazz to punk to R&B to Fela Kuti-styled Afrobeats - while all still sounding like a coherent and natural artistic extension of one man's creative vision"._ He also has two previous mixtapes *'RM'* released 2015 and *'Mono'* released in 2018 and another solo album called *'Indigo'* released in 2022 where he had features like Anderson Paak and Erykah Badu. He's also recorded with Warren G, Wale, Juice WRLD, Tablo of Epik High, Tiger JK, Megan Thee Stallion and Fall Out Boy, just to name a few. RM is a great songwriter so remember to *turn on the CC for English subtitles* when you check out his other work because he often switches between English and Korean. His name is Kim Namjoon also often called Joon. He went by the stage name Rap Monster before but now just RM. He started out as an underground rapper when he was 13, was signed to Big Hit in 2010 and is the leader of the 7 member group BTS since their debut in 2013. He is BTS main songwriter* and writes for other artists too and has credits as songwriter on over 200 tracks. RM has an IQ of 148, is really into art and poetry and reads a lot which shows in his lyricism. *All BTS member are involved in writing and producing their music and all 7 (3 rappers & 4 vocalists) have released their own solo projects as singles, mixtapes and albums. Their names are Jin, SUGA/Agust D, j-hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. BTS will be back working as a group in 2025 when all members have been discharged from the military. As of yet only Jin have finished his service and j-hope will be discharged next month, October 17th 2024, the other 5 enlisted later and will be discharged in June 2025. BTS fanbase is called ARMY.
y'all are so fun lol thought it was only me that thought RM gave Kendrick vibes. his lyrics are mostly really meaningful and current btw, most videos have translated lyrics already so you can read them if you turn on [CC] should deffo react to Still Life ft Anderson .Paak
the excited screaming reaction when the song switched up and the arguing had me laughing the whole time! Also ARMY is the fandom name! You guys seem open-minded and cool so I hope you continue to check out RM and the rest of BTS. Since you said you like to listen to different genres then you will DEFINATELY like BTS because they have something for everyone!
Yeah agree Hip Hop Lovers is everything a song have to but you have to read the captions for that song mandatory hip hop song the lyrics are averything
💫The collab bt Wale & RM “Change” was released right after the corrupt president of S. Korea, at the time at end of 2017 was impeached, and a president who even supported BTS even giving them the Cultural Merit of Honor Medal, never before ever awarded to anyone so young, let alone a Kpop group. But meanwhile in America trump was just nominated as president. Which is what Wale meant about voting instead of doing mannequin challenge which was in at the time. Also so chilling when he referred to when cops saying ‘freeze’ make the kids ‘really freeze’. There were so many shootings of innocent. Which finally was more talked about later on. This was before blm movement but so many shootings were always going on that Wale touched on as well as so much more that was so timely then as well as equally relevant now! He flew to Korea to do this amazingly phenomenal collab with RM! It all came about when army (BTS fans), knowing how much RM loved & respected his songs, mentioned it to Wale, who then got in contact with RM! This songs MV is an absolute must to watch for so many reasons! 🙏👍🔥❤🔥😍
Warren G was first in 2014, then Kriz in 2015, then Wale in 2017. I'll always be thankful to each of them for being way ahead of the game and recognizing talent back when BTS were basically unknown in the US!
It’s funny you said that how if you didn’t see the video you wouldn’t know if it was RM on the song. I don’t know how he does it but a lot of times when he speaks English he adapts his accent to who he is speaking to. I’ve seen him change his accent when doing interviews with Aussie and British interviewers. I think that’s why he sounds American even though he didn’t grow up in America he did learn English by watching the American show ‘Friends’ maybe that’s why. It so interesting, he’s such an interesting guy. Also this isn’t a fact it’s just what I observed.
I think he raps in English with the same accent he naturally speaks English, which makes sense since he's self-taught and partly learned through listening to hip hop. But you're right occasionally when they visited the UK etc. he started to pick up that accent after a while, I think it's quite common for people who speak a 2nd language.
You had me with KDot but then you blew me away with Nas! btw they're talking about society, not relationships. You guys should have listened better. It's deep af, and talking about history
@@diddiefree right? Nas was so spot on! And it’s crazy cause we literally had no clue that, that’s his idol. We did mention the song referenced a change for society.
